Situated in northern Iraq, Zakho is a city with a rich history and vibrant culture. It serves as a significant trading hub due to its strategic location near the borders of Turkey and Syria. The city has been inhabited for thousands of years and has seen the rise and fall of various civilizations, leaving behind traces of their influence in the form of historical sites and monuments.
Zakho is known for its diverse population, including Kurds, Assyrians, Turkmen, and Arabs, contributing to the city's cultural tapestry. The city's bazaars are bustling with activity, offering a wide array of goods, from spices and textiles to handicrafts and local produce. Cuisine in Zakho is a delightful fusion of Middle Eastern flavors, with kebabs, flatbreads, and mezze dishes being popular among locals and visitors alike.
One of the most prominent landmarks in Zakho is the Delal Bridge, a picturesque stone bridge that spans the Khabur River. This ancient structure not only serves as a functional pathway but also as a symbol of Zakho's enduring legacy. Nearby, the Zakho Citadel stands tall, providing panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
Despite its turbulent past, Zakho continues to thrive as a bustling urban center, where modernity meets tradition seamlessly. The city's resilient spirit and friendly locals make it a welcoming destination for travelers looking to explore Iraq's cultural heritage and natural beauty. With its unique charm and historical significance, Zakho remains a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by the world.

thanks for watching!
Any visitor to these regions must look at the history of the region before and after Christianity, the changes that took place, and how the Kurds came and occupied the region and killed many Assyrians (Christians). Today it is called Kurdistan, and the Kurds still occupy Alqosh and want to annex it to their suspicious region. The town of Alqosh is not Chaldean, and this name came 500 years ago after the division that occurred in the ancient Assyrian Eastern Church. The nine graves that I saw in the monastery prove that Alqosh belonged to the ancient Assyrian Church, and Chaldeanism did not exist at that time
Thanks for the clarification
12:20 "for the most part, it's pretty quiet" Single gunshot immediately rings out in the distance lol perfect comedic timing
Yes I know I have a weird sense of humor.
Wow I never knew so much about Miami and its neighborhoods before I watched this video! Hi Mike no go zones! Highly recommended
Thanks for watching, yes Miami is full of surprises.
Kurdish is 1 one my favorite people, firstly when i found them out in 2016 when i wass still very young and a lot of news call them out for fighting with ISIS. I have a question is it true that the kurdish hate Turks? Are they wanted to independence from the syria, iraq, turks, iran? Are every kurdish militia is ypg or sdf or some are just pure militia without western countru backup? Thank you
Hello there and thanks for watching, I have several more videos from Iraqi Kurdistan so please feel free to watch. To answer your questions 1) not all Kurds hate Turks but some are very against the Turkish military and government 2) yes many Kurds would love to see an independent Kurdistan one day but not all 3) there are many Kurdish militias, the main one is the Peshmerga (who I support) but there are many others such as the PKK who is an extremist group that I do not support due to their Marxist roots and their practice of forced conscription, the SDF is a self governing entity in Rojava and the YPG is their militia which does have ties to the PKK, I have yet to visit Rojava so I can't comment too much
this is Nineveh, Iraqi land, and there is not a single grave named Qarji or Persian Kurd, they want it in cooperation with other countries to displace Christians and Yazidis. the aggressor party that supports Hamas now.
As a Chaldean I stand with Palestine 🇵🇸
Thanks for watching, before venturing to Northern Iraq I barely knew anything of the Assyrian struggle. I am now much more aware. Personally I would like to see both a Kurdish and Assyrian state but that decision is not up to me.

None of these areas are NO GO ZONES. This is false advertising
so Sandtown and Midtown Edmonson isn't rough enough for you? thanks for the notes, it was my 1st time in Baltimore
I'd like you to visit Donetsk or Luhansk. Then you'll understand all of a sudden whats really going on. My friends are living in a horror eight years before the 22nd February. And btw your slava ukraini is a nazi slur. And no that's not out of context.
Thanks for watching and unfortunately I couldn't get to Donetsk as I wasn't allowed any further east from Kharkiv. Hopefully on another visit I'll be able to.
ukraine should be grateful it was not attacked by israelis or americans...
maybe but then again due to Gaza being so densely populated it assures that the civilian death ratio is so high and that is really sad
Price of cigarettes in there? Ukraine will lose war too much corruption there
Couldn't tell you the price of cigarettes but meals and drinks were cheap. $1 beers at kiosks. As far as corruption goes, that's found in every country on the globe 🌐.
slava russiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Very passionate comment, are you actually watching from Russia 🇷🇺?
The author of the video is a liar and a hypocrite!!! Russia does not use Israeli tactics to destroy Palestine. In such a scenario, Ukraine would cease to exist
when did I say that?
Hopefully Zelensky comes to the table to make a peace agreement and stop his people's suffering. This could all have been avoided if NATO hadn't ignored all Russia's warnings about expanding into Ukraine.
Good point but no one is forced to join NATO, it's all voluntary. The fact that so many countries are choosing to join NATO instead of being under Russian influence does make a statement.
@@mikenogozones Yeah you just overthrow a government and replace it with the one that volunteers to join NATO lol... Unless you can buy or blackmail a few politicians
Wasn’t much of a choice. We overthrew their government, and put Zelensky in as their leader to join our side. Now Zelensky is killing all the young men in Ukraine in a war they cannot win and could’ve easily avoided.
it was many recording that residential areas were hit by old malfunctioned Ukrainian anti air missiles
Thanks for your point of view. I'll look into that, if you can post a link or article that would be helpful.
so much misinformation in one short video\
Thanks for watching, where was I wrong or mistaken?
What Russia giveth, Russia taketh, no?
It seems that the Russian military is acting very humanely. Not to compare with Gaza
Too many residential areas have been hit by the Russian military. I have to respectfully disagree with you.
@@mikenogozones You are a liar and a hypocrite. If Russia used Israeli tactics, then Ukraine would cease to exist
@@mikenogozones in Ukraine, it is one building from dozens. In Gaza it is plainly all buildings. You have to be a fanatic not to see this. In your video, you had to travel to this building. In Gaza, you just enter it, and you have all the destroyed building you can get.
@@webkeeper Gaza is a fraction of the size of Ukraine. Ukraine is way more spread out and its military targets in plain view. Actually comparing the two makes no sense. My point was that the Russian military targeted civilian areas when it was easy not to as per the original comment.
@@mikenogozones you didn't managed to prove that they were targeted in the first place. Gaza comparison is valid since you can see this way what happens then residential building are targeted. You can also see it in Syria and Iraq in places like Mosul. You only managed to prove that a building was hit. Otherwise you only raised quistions like what exactly did it, and your answer "Russians because they are evil" is just so Dark Age mentality.
