That NXTPAPER 14 Pro from TLC looks really solid. The screen has no reflections and I dig that they used the Dimensity 8020 chip, to keep it on the affordable side.
Finally, a mid-range tablet that prioritizes eye health! Loving the NXTPAPER tech and the Dimensity 8020 chip sounds promising for performance. I think the NXTPAPER14 Pro is a good one at CES event...
When I looked at TCLs website, they have a something called a T-Pen3 that goes with the previous model TCL Tab 10S 5G. Does this screen have digitizer technology (Wacom style) with active palm rejection for inking? Is it possible to get a video of that? I've been thinking of a e-note tablet, and I think this would satisfy my use cases more than most of the ones in the market now (reMarkable, Supernote etc)
I just got a TCL 40 NXTPAPER 4G phone. Super fast, great colors, etc. Makes me want to jump from my iPhone 15 Pro... but not quite. The reason I bought it was - for one, it was super cheap at under $200 - to use as an eReader, not as a phone. My disappointment is that using the Kindle app doesn't give you the same eInk look and feel an options of an eInk eReader. It's literally no different than your regular phone. Also, the battery life won't be any different than a phone, even in "e-Ink" mode. I'll keep it as a backup phone and that's about it. If I wasn't on the Apple ecosystem, AND the camera on this thing was much better, then I would switch to it just for the ease of reading the screen in bright sunlight. That's where this thing hits the home run.
It just looks like an LCD. Why is he talking about a blue light filter, when the screen is literally displaying blue light? The advantage of eink is that it doesn't produce its own light, but simply reflects light from outside, like paper. This is just an lcd screen, with a lot of "proprietary technology" (lol) attached to it.
I am very interested in this screen technology. I think the matte coating is way better than any normal screen. I have a matte coating Asus desktop display and it is great for long term working. I am also using matte screen protector on my phone now, but still very easy to be blurry after 1 month. So i also dream of a android phone or tablet have matte coating by itself. It's really different experience than a matte protector.
Sounds like this technology still misses out where it counts- at least for ebook reading. It's still an emissive display, instead of being a reflective display.
This summer I tried a NXTPAPER 2 based tablet on a mall. The matte finish was amazing to look at. I enjoyed the experience much better than with color eink. When I came home researched a little bit about the technology and bought the tablet next day. I've been using it since then. The blue light protection both at hardware and software level is amazing. You can tell, believe me. The speakers and camera are okay, but the screen is really good. It doesn't have a lot of processing power or GPU but for this price I can tell you that in this moment there is no better alternative. Under direct and bright sunlight is not better than a eink display but it is definitely much better than any IPS or OLED display. Certainly more usable than my iPad Pro or my Pixel 6 Pro. It is marketed and designed to be a media consumption device more than an ebook reader. If you have the chance, go try one on a store.
Can the backlight be turned off That is to say turning off the backlight means no light at all In this mode Is there such a model If so it would be great That's really not eye-catching.Watch it during the day
2:04 Maybe tablet and phone makers can integrate this Eink type of technology in tablet and phone device or laptops. Or maybe it's not that cheap to integrate. 😎💯💪🏿👍🏿
em its caled transreflective display.. and it was like 15 years ago used in PDAs in the past where you can switch to 'e paper ' mode ... what a weak presentation those days companies dont care anymore to have anyone tha knows how to present their own product... shame no more e ink mobile phones i guess I have the last one
First off, definitely appreciate the compliment. You're right! I dedicate a lot of time to try to remain a healthy able-bodied person, but alas, time doesn't stop for anyone and I'm definitely slowing down now that I'm nearing my 40's. I'm very happy that I appear healthy now, because a year ago I was hospitalized thanks to Covid and lost months of my life unable to move my body even though as you said I was a perfectly healthy adult. So 🤷 I wore a mask partially because as you implied, I didn't necessarily want to get spit on by the hundreds of coughing people on the show floor, but also because I didn't want to cough on the people who spend their entire day forced to talk to me regardless if I was sick or not. Unfortunately the world doesn't revolve around any of us and if I came back home sick, my other responsibilities to my family/work/dependents would not be paused while I slept it off. I don't know if the mask helped or not, but I feel great and I can continue my daily tasks today. Besides I like wearing a mask to cover my ugly face lol. Then people can't see my reactions as I judge them about their products (JK TCL).
Imagine being so afraid of wearing a mask, that you're willing to miss out on life's adventures and large events, just because you don't want to get sick. It's literally no skin off of anybody's back to go to the event *and* wear a mask. At the same time. If you're that terrified of a cold... don't stay home. Go and live your life, and wear a mask. You can do both, and it's nobody's business but your own. Why do anti-maskers insist on telling people how to live their lives?

You can't know everybody's medical conditions, or if they are recovering from a debilitating illness or taking care of a immunocompromised relative. Or if they are going to undergo surgery in a few days. That or just being cautious not to spread the flu or a bad cold to other human beings. People in Asia don't wear masks to protect themselves but to avoid spreading viruses. It is a completely different way to look at it, and It is only logical, especially in overpopulated countries or crowded places.
How can you be so lunatic. Do you realize that not everyone is as lucky as you, and may need it for other reasons? Even if it was covid why the fuck would you care.

When it will be available ? USA Europe Middle East.?

This looks so amazing for people with sensitive eyes. Thank you tcl.
Its great when you have someone well educated about what their reporting on and asking intteligent questions! Great work.
except its not at all better than eink and pretty much marketing scam
TCL NXTPAPER 14 PRO tablet is cool. How mush is it?

This is not even close to eink.
How does it block blue light yet manages to display blue images?
Would absolutely buy tis in an iPad mini size model for handy reading in the evening
Will it come to the US? The last generation was not available, I would love to have one of those phones as a secondary, they are very affordable too.
Yes this will be releasing as on tablet and phone
I'm still wondering when this tablet is going to be released in the US.
@@MaxHasManyHobbiesi can’t find anywhere that says it is coming to the US at all. :(
@@TellurdogIsayhi I've heard one video that says it will come later this year in the US.

God I wish the 14 pro would come to the US. I want this tablet SO badly.
I wonder what the long-term durability is for it
Question well asked!

lol why is TCL scamming us they had a good start

Yes, exactly. And that is why eink is actually superior for non moving content.
lmao but its BETTER!
it's a good idea. my reservation would be the processor TCL chose to put in. last nxtpaper tablet got a really slow cpu that I decided not to buy it.

An emissive display better than a reflective display? Its like asking which one is better a ham and egg breakfast or a tree in a park

I love tcl display.
If only Apple could have devellop such a screen for the coming iPad !
I would like to see it in a monitor
I m going to switch to this
This is an LCD with a matte layer, that's it
I prefer eink device to read
Isn’t this just LCD with a E-paper like feel?
...and a monochrome mode. But yes, an emissive display. WTF is the e-ink 'experience'.
it also has circular polarized light technology

E-ink is a company, e-paper is the technology. Please don't confuse them in these videos.
yes but CPU and GPU are trash!
This is a light emitting device... They are just marketing saying eink
That guy looks like he's tweaking
probably just nervous. I look like that when I'm nervous lol.
If I have to wear a mask to use it I'm not interested.
😷?🤣🤣🤣🤣

Crazy old man and obviously a big loser.

Bad technology as it is an emissive display .they just can't have the guts to pull off an effective reflective display .
