Oh-ho-tah. It means "willingness" or... "desire" ("Streetcar named Desire" ;) ) - name of this district was taken from the tavern of the same name, built there in 19th century.

Seller was probably not Ukrainian. This habit of making business in the street is Turkish, Gypsy, Arabic, sometimes Italian, most likely blend of Moldovan with MiddleEast immigrants.

If you like cartoon graffiti you need to visit Poznań. There is a street artist named KAWU that is painting polish and international cartoon characters all over the city. He is also a fan od KKS Lech Poznań and is painting Koziołek Matołek whereever he goes with the football team. Stockholm, Florence etc.

Don't worry, we Varsovians also find West Bus Station very sketchy. The guy that tried to sell you fake perfumes was 100% a Gypsy and not a Ukrainian like he was telling you. They are there everyday, harassing us and tourists alike. On the other hand, inside the building it is filled with Ukrainians and ads in Ukrainian. For us going inside is like visiting another country and I am not even joking it is so surreal. Also the building is one of the ugliest in Warsaw and everyone here hates it but the national bus carrier (Polonus) which owns the building has zero money to renovate it since it is constantly declining and is on the verge of bankruptcy. Couple of years ago they were forced by health and safety inspectors to remove old rusty roofs from over the platforms because it posed a severe risk to people, but they had no money for new roofing so still to this day there is no cover from rain if you are waiting for a bus on a platform. 😂😂
    Anyways, welcome to Warsaw! 🧜‍♀

He should go to see his embassy and compare it to the adjacent buildings …and share his impression with us -) and go to eat the polish food - mokotowska 22 street “bar mleczny”. I recommend him to order - “kotlet schabowy z ziemniakami and kompot and soup - grochówka”.

@@TravelwithMrJonduring the communist times in 1950s the friendship between the USA and Russia was so strong that the USA was allowed to demolish a stylish palace and build its glass embassy - which looks horrible and doesn’t fit to the other historic buildings…..

Don't believe that "kotlet schabowy" is traditional polish dish. Only people born after the war think so. It's just a soviet-era ersatz of wiener schnitzel - made with pork instead of veal and with too much breadcrumbs because polish gastronomic tradition was to cheat on weight. Back than the only factor that mattered was "grammage" - the dish was supposed to have a certain weight as whole :) Especially in late communism when shortages of meat from temporary became permanent :)

Speaking of Ukrainian men. Yes, since last year they cannot freely leave Ukraine, but it does not change the fact that several hundred thousand of them lived in Poland before the start of the "three-day special operation". So it's not like you can meet only Ukrainian women in Poland.
And by the way. I appreciate that someone finally showed the worst and ugliest possible way to get to "Stalin's Gift" After such a trip, everything in the center of Warsaw must seem beautiful ;)
