Hello, in Poland we mostly do not tip, and neither do we care so much about customs about it. No one will refrain from servicing you next time because you didn't tip. Of course you are allowed to tip if you feel some moral obligation, or if the service was truly exceptional. It just doesn't matter that much. Waiters are suppposed to be paid somewhat beyond starvation, the worforce is scarse, and the minimum salary is updated yearly, by which it retains the purchasing power (accidentally it keeps with the big mac calculated inflation). Remeber, you're not in America. :)

@@piotrbratek3996, oh, I mostly don't. It is the job of the employer to pay and discipline the personnel. Also, a waiter may have no connection with what the cooking personnel is doing, or liability to transfer the proceeds from the tip, if the meal was good. Besides, why this kind of money transfer should be free from taxation?

In side is a cheap pub and on the other side of Nowy Świat you have "pawilony" there are more pubs like that just in a better condition.
Next time you should check Saska Kepa district Powiśle, lazienki park, Royal Wilanów palace. Stary Żoliborz, Bielany with the forest and also Marymont are nice and if you want some before second war vibe check Praga Polnoc disctrict streets like Targowa Brzeska Jagiellońska centrum koneser.
And idk hows your Polish but you should try shopping for groceries at local markets in Warsaw for example Rondo Wiatraczna market, Wolumen market, Sadyba market or Hala Mirowska in the city center.
In terms of movies check Chlopaki nie placza and Poranek kojota, Kiler, Kiler 2 - polish gangster comedies with a little guy ritche vibe and classic scorsese and polish " Psy" but all adapted to polish circumstances I think ur gonna get the jokes.

I do it all the time. I walk around cities for hours then I’ll go to a church if I see one and just sit down in there to rest. It saves you buying a coffee every time and you can sit there as long as you like. Especially good if it’s raining or if it’s cold outside

Hi Chief , thank you for the video and hope you enjoyed your stay in Warsaw.
26:18 There used to be a cinema in this building called "Wars". We used to go to the movies there when I was young. For example remember watching "Apocalypse Now", the only American film about the Vietnam War that was allowed to shown in Polish cinemas during the communist era. And before the screening, we often dropped by this "Boruta" cafe (where you ate your meal) for cake and tea.
The figure on a horse in front of the Presidential Palace is a equestrian statue to the Prince Józef Poniatowski, Polish general minister of war and army commander.
    👍

Come over to Poland, you are welcome. I personally live in Warsaw which has much drier climate than the southern part of the country and also the Baltic coast. 4:27 Mosaic has nothing to do with 1944 Uprising. It commemorates 2 grenade attacks on German 'Cafe Club' by Gwardia Ludowa, which was in the same place. Current building was erected after the war. Mosaic was completed in 1964.
16:57 Fine gate and building opposite to prince Jozef Poniatowski monument is not a church. It is Potocki palace, now seat of Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Prince Jozef Poniatowski, marshal of France, is one of Polish greatest national heroes. He died during great battle of Leipzig in 1813, while crossing river Elster in Prussia.
