I commend him for staying in the public as long as he did. Many people would be embarrassed and advised to stay in hiding when they are like this. God Bless him. I will remember him as a strong and beautiful person inside and out.
I will never ever forget David Cassidy oh, yes we love him is Keith partridge but he was also a man with hopes and dreams as we all know sometimes the power of Fame it comes to enormous to deal with all I can say is thank you Keith partridge flash David Cassidy for making my younger days something worth looking forward to and idolizing you will always be something and my mind and my life is a time that will be treasured. And I pray and I know that was all the things you've done you have made it into the kingdom of heaven amen
Yes it's so sad his inner demons got the most of him... just looking at him you can see how physically deteriorated he is near the end... chronic alcohol abuse will do that to you☹ it's the world's most deadliest legal drug
@@marcusfieldfield4069Yep!!! Aunt has alcoholic dementia now, living in a Long Term Facility as she doesn’t know where she is. My Mom is now facing the same thing. Fortunately I broke the cycle for myself in the mid 90’s… But I lost time and money to the stuff. It’s insipid.
I had the honor and pleasure of meeting him when he came to one of the casinos in my town. He is real as real can get. I have been a fan since the Partridge family days. Rest in Peace David Cassidy. A unique person for the fame he had as a young man.
The Partridge Family was a curse and a blessing, he had so much talent but was never taken seriously as a writer and performer. He reinvented himself many times and was a very hard worker and performer.Great guy, may he rest in piece.
I wonder if Richard Thomas feels the same way about mainly being known as "Johnboy Walton" of Jimmie Walker as "JJ Evans". NTM David Faustino as "Bud Bundy". Typecasting is hard on a performer's career.
what a great entertainer, great looking man, great singer.... and apparently a down to earth, kind and gentle person.... will miss you in this realm...rest and peace David.
I am *that younger brother* of *that older sister* whose room was filled with David Cassidy pictures, who brought David Cassidy LP's into the house, and who went to see David Cassidy in concert - her first concert - coming home with blurred concert photographs in which some white shadow with a faint guitar was supposed to be David Cassidy. I was that younger brother who watched the Partridge Family on tv, who enjoyed it for the family fare that it was, and who was intrigued by this young guy who wasn't only on the Big Screen, but also in my sister's room, and who could apparently sing, and act, and play guitar. A mean guitar, too. My favourite track: "Rock me, baby". I was eight years old. Superficially as it was, I liked David Cassidy. That sympathy stayed with me through the decades. Before the seventies were over, David was in a tv police series with his hair cut short. There were the albums in which he wanted to show a rebellious side, without losing touch to his still huge fanbase. In the late nineties, twenty years ago, David was one of the first to get in touch with his fans through the Internet. He was among the first on TH-cam. Struggling, yet victorious. David appeared to have fought some demons. I watched a couple of documentaries, that were revealing. Family hurt, failed marriages, alcohol, and the lack of self-esteem that come with them. The price some pay for celebrity. Yet David went on, and on, and created that 'formerly famous' niche for himself in which he could perform, and thrive. Voice and guitar still in place. David Cassidy has nothing to be ashamed of, in a 'public' sense. He never let his fans down. In the end, I guess he never let himself down. Many of his fans 'cherished' him till the end. I know I do. Just some Big Sister's little brother from the other side of the world.
Such lovely thoughts to share , so well written with obvious care and consideration...... I do not think you are alone 'little brother'.....love it..... 'struggling yet victorious', there sure are worse places to be.
Thank you for this brief and beautiful video, especially the message at the end. So thankful to have been a tiny part of his life and to call him friend. Heartbroken.
I want to say that David reached a place in human kind which has to be and will remain totally unique His music legacy will live on for ever ! There will never be another like him ! Nigel H Seymour
RIP David Cassidy, handsome, talented & charismatic down to earth Superstar! You left a beautiful legacy here & will not be forgotten! Thank you for your awesome contributions. We love ❤️ you.
He is sadly missed but never forgotten I think of him very often and as I do my other two favs George Harrison and John Lennon I put David up there with them and that's saying a lot!
So sad. Can't believe he's gone. I had a HUGE crush on him as a teenager and this event brought it all back, especially when I'm looking at gorgeous photos of him that I'm seeing all over TH-cam. I'll never forget him. :'(
I will miss him I meet him at one of his concerts and i yelled can I sing I think I love you with you he brought me on stage and I said sure what a great moment I will never forget

Such a sweet, sweet, soul... I remember the first time I ever met him in Los Angeles... 1973, such a wonderful person... His half-brother Patrick was a friend and that's how we met..... Such a nice group of fellows... RIP....
I agree - there was something so special about his soul. I'm so lucky to have been 9 years old in 1970 - he caught my heart in his hands. There was something in his eyes and his smile that brought love and light into my life, until my mother ripped his poster from my wall.
Although I was only 3 years old at the time, his was the first album I ever had. I'd sing my little 3 yr old heart out along with him. "Hey, I think I love you!" Thank you for instilling my love of music, David. 💛 RIP
I’ve always loved his voice and songs. Looks runs in his family. His mom, son and daughter. Who didn’t have a crush on him when he was on the Patridge Family
I’m in my mid-50s and used to watch the Partridge family all the time with David Cassidy Danny Bonaduce it was a great show me David Cassidy rest in peace and hearts and prayers go out to his family God bless
David, you were my very 1st love. pictures of you were the 1st ones on my bedroom wall in 1975. I bought every Tiger Beat & teen magazine that had you on the cover of it, and my bedroom walls were plastered with pictures of you!! I, along with millions of other people, are going to miss you SO much. You will never be forgotten Mr. David Cassidy!!! God bless you with LOVE. May you, finally, rest in peace. 😢
Still sad - he was the highlight of this once young girls horrible childhood....still miss you 48 years a fan and also someone who is in recovery from alcohol.
The Won't be another David you were the One And Only We Will Never Forget You you brougth so much in Our Lives as Actor Young Men Singer Sweet an Even Sexy Boy at such early age...You were our Elvis Number II Thank .R I. P. :)
I absolutely loved him to bits from the first time I saw him In 1971 ànd I will love him until I die xx RIP Beautiful man miss you so much xx I would just like to say that I also had a downer on sue shiffron leaving him when he needed her , but I think that no one knows what goes on behind closed doors and it must be very difficult living with an alcoholic. As much as I love him she had her reasons and I don't think we should judge her unless we know what really went on between them, but I doubt that we ever will xx
Wendy Dunn Amen! Whatever happened between David and Sue is a private matter and no one has the right to judge. I wish they could've stayed married, but some marital problems just can't be solved.
Kelly Hughart thank you for agreeing with me , it's easy to blame sue but at the end of the day he drunk the alcohol, it's an illness and I would imagine she done all she could to help him, you don't give up on all those years of marriage lightly xx so people should consider that , I live in England so I don't know if they disrespected each other when she left him or what happened, but I think that how hard it is for us losing him and we never knew him just idolized him for years , she must be hurting for the David she met and fell in love with as well xx alcohol turns you into a completely different person , so I just think people should consider that before they blame her for everything xx
True, 25 years is no joke. Shaun is still married to his 3rd wife as well. I agree, delete the rocky last years, Sue never wanted him to die. You could tell his health was going downhill.

yes he didnt hide but i think he needed the money from gigs also.
There are no words to describe how I feel when I look at images of how alcoholism and depression ruined this man on so many levels................
