  • One of the Seventies most celebrated pop singers David Cassidy makes reference to President Trump then performs Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted and I Woke Up In Love This Morning (9:23) live. The latter is the best known song from The Partridge Family Sound Magazine and was the TV pop group's third gold album in 1971.
"Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Wanted" single is from The Partridge Family album Up to Date and peaked at #6 on The Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. Cassidy embraces the song he once hated recording because of the spoken middle interlude.
The celebrated 66-year-old actor/singer ends touring in 2017. David Cassidy held his last-ever Los Angeles US West Coast concert at The Canyon, Agoura Hills, CA on February 18, 2017. Cassidy lived in Los Angeles for 35 years. His live band members are musical director Frank Fabio on bass, Craig J on keyboards, Dave Robicheau on guitar and Felipe Torres on drums.
Immediately after the show, Dr. Phil television show film crew interviewed David Cassidy backstage, then recorded audience attendees' reaction to the evening's performance.

Dearest Cassidy family-wanted to immediately share and express my deepest condolences on the loss of your beautiful son, brother, husband, father, friend and greatest teenage heartthrob to have ever existed. He was a superb individual, the likes of whom are few and far between, and I for one, will miss the brightness of his true spirit. David had a special quality about him..one rare to find in humans these days...and when faced with the awful hardships called his life for the past few years...well, he faced far too much, things no one shold have to endure. NO MORE DAVID! No more haters, no more shame, or struggle with even the very basic situations of daily life. As sad as so many will undoubtedly feel tonight and in the days to come...I can take console...in the knowledge that you are no longer suffering as you did for so long. David, you were adored as "Keith Partridge",but did you ever really know, that it was the genuine David Cassidy that we all loved...even when you had difficulty loving yourself? We did David, we never stopped loving you, and from the bottom of my heart, as sadness and tears overcome me...I am relieved and assured in the belief...the knowledge that Heaven became a little brighter with your star's arrival tonight...and I KNOW that the Heavenly choir is now not only a whole lot better LOOKING, but he collective voices, combined with yours...are better than ever before! Rest in Peace my beautiful 1970(and beyond)heartthrob...I never stopped loving you...and will never forget the impact you had on so many for so long. No more suffering, shame, or pain. You are free...and I celebrate your life, appreciating your gifts so much more than I did ever before! Blessings to those you leave behind...they are indeed fortunate...for having had you in their own lives for even the too short period God allowed us to have you amongst us. I MISS YOU ALREADY , and David Cassidy, I can tell you, I KNOW WE LOVED YOU!!... Rest in ABSOLUTE Peace 11-21-17 .

last time I saw him in concert in MN he was drunk. I had seen him several times in concert and even danced with him at the Copa in Vegas during his show. I am huge fan but David biggest problem was alcohol. In 2011 he was fired by TRUMP on the Apprentice, I felt sorry for DC but Trump did the right thing as Dc was having issues then. Very sad may he rest in peace and may God have mercy on his soul. David absolutely LOVED HIS FANS and really loved his fans. He lived for his fans and I loved his shows. GOD BLESS.

Shari. No surprise Trump kicked him off. Trump's own brother died from alcoholism - as a result, Trump does not drink and like many others who have lived around the self destructive behavior of acute alcoholism .... he probably has little patience with those who continue to abuse alcohol.
Also, there are several forms of Dementia associated with long term alcoholics - which is very likely what was happening to David. Unless those suffering from these forms of Dementia stop drinking ... you end up with someone who is incoherent from BOTH alcohol consumption - and alcohol induced Dementia.

It's sad to see David Cassidy being treated as a drunk onstage when his dementia is taking such a toll on him. I don't recall seeing one video, or hearing one word about people being cruel to Glen Campbell on his last tour. Dementia and Alzheimer's are horribly slow and frustrating conditions and maybe the media and the public would have been much kinder, had it been announced prior to this last tour.

Sorry, but he shouldn't have been performing. It's a train wreck and his management should've known better. Who the fuck wants to spend their declining years looking like a drunk, entertaining a bunch of disinterested, selfish, ingrates for an audience? He should have been sitting on a beach in the sun somewhere, gazing out at nature, with his children and closest friends by his side. This just seems cruel, humiliating and embarrassing. On the flip side, he probably had one of the best lives of any person on earth, seeing and doing things that many can only dream about.

Indiana ... 2 truths about alcoholism
1 - Nearly ALL alcoholics lie and make up excuses to hide the fact that most of their problems are the result of alcohol abuse. FACT.
2 - Acute alcoholism can easily result in several forms of dementia - the worst being Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome which is irreversible even if the drinking is stopped. Flooding every cell in one's body with ethanol - a poison - every day of your life for decades will damage just about every single organ in the body ... the brain included.
I have seen it happen up close with several family members and it is tragic. The worst part is - even if the alcoholic is told they will die if they do not stop drinking immediately - nearly all of them will keep on drinking. That is what often happens with liver failure.

    • @yvonneharris2227
      @yvonneharris2227 ปีที่แล้ว +6

“Exploited to the very end”?! Give your head a shake. The man lived to drink and he sought out everything available to him to buy another drink. Not to mention, venues supplied drinks during performances like this in bars. I guarantee the pubs and clubs were NOT paying him top dollar, or taking advantage of him. His crew wouldn’t have been able to pay their bills, so it was just a side gig for them til something better came along. It’s more likely he vomited backstage, urinated backstage on the floor, leaving it for the club to clean up. He’d leave a venue feeling a lot better than the club staff afterwards, for sure.
THAT is the reality of working with entertainers with severe addictions. Nothing glamorous about it at all.

The crowd was so rude! This shows how hard drinking can take a toll on people. He was such a talent, and brave until the end. Glen Campbell let us fans see what a toll dementia took on him in his film. David is letting us see how even being rich and famous cannot bring happiness. He was lonely when his wife ,Sue, left him. He kept being haunted by his dad. He did feel like giving up and turning to alcohol. Drinking wore his organs out. I can feel he did appreciate his fans. We loved you all your life, David, and love you still. Too bad he drank so much over the years. He should have stopped sooner. I wish I could have helped you. I wish I could have helped Robin Williams, Pete Duel, Annissa Jones, Karen Carpenter, Rusty Hamner, Freddy Prince, and so many other famous hurting souls. We fans watch you give of yourselves and we love you, but don't get close to the real you inside. David Cassidy was good person and I could sense that when I looked at his poster on my wall, and it is so sad what he did to himself. Some of these others committed suicide and I guess you did it slowly, because you were not a happy camper in life. I wish I could have helped you like I helped my husband. My husband was tortured by demons his life also. I helped him, along with God, to heal himself mentally at least, before my husband died. I wish I could have done something to help you also. I could tell you were hurting. I am an empath and can feel others' pain. I was hoping your friends and Danny might be able to reach out to you in time. You were so pathetic on the Dr. Phil show. Just know we were touched by you honesty on that show. We fans felt for you, we wanted to help you, but did not know how. Maybe this was better in the long run. You had a quick death, instead of a long painful death, like Annette Funnicello or Glen Campbell. Life is not fair, and I have not figured it out. We humans cannot understand things. I am just glad watching you sing and act touched my life and I thank you for being in it. Love and peace.

I am the most ardent, decades long fan of David but I have to admit that he does not look well here. He looks much older for his age and smaller--he was always a tiny-ish man. He looks tired and I can detect a little bit of jaundice on his skin due to his liver issues despite the stage lighting. Years of substance abuse to your body i.e. alcohol and/or drugs will eventually catch up with you. RIP David my man.

David Cassidy is brave! There are so many ignorant people, or even some who are just mean, hateful and nasty, but he has Dementia and that is a FACT! Doctors diagnosed him, not dummies in the audience or wanna be "doctors" on the Internet. However, it is true that alcohol has been known to accelerate the disease. I've been working with elderly and alcoholics. I'm giving my own opinion on this, but it is my opinion that David is no longer drinking, at least from what I see and hear here. David was not as heavy into drinking & drugs as Danny was. According to Danny, David may have picked up alcohol in later years to mask the fear that he was losing it to dementia. Another "however" the damage done by alcohol, tobacco or any drug abuse is bad, and can come back to haunt in other ways. I do not doubt that past alcohol abuse has not contributed to his decline of brain function. Sad, but true.

Just heard this morning David Cassidy had passed away.My heart goes out to all his love ones and his many adoring fans, I am one of them. His last concert was sad to see,not because of the fact it was his last but because he was to intoxicated to be onstage. His manager or family should have stepped up and stopped him from ever going out there.I know about his dementia, but it appeared he was drinking heavily before this concert and his behavior was not due to his dementia.Thats whats so sad,did the band need money that badly that they went on with the show and not just stop and get him help.Rest now David in the arms of God.I'm sure you finally have the peace you could never find here on earth!I have had family members die from dementia and the sluring of words and forgetfulness comes after some years,he was not in those final years according to news reports. An alcohol sick brain and body will do the same thing, fail you long before you want admit the truth,I've seen that to..

I'm quite sad to see David Cassidy's final performance went the way it was. Not being sarcastic, since I'm aware he's quite disabled and yet, kept performing for his fans all along. A lot of people were even telling Cassidy was drunk and he wasn't. You should know that David Cassidy will not be performing for the time being, as he admitted to suffer from dementia, a condition that took on his mother Evelyn Ward in 2012.
