  • I recently did a livestream where I shared the latest version of my Starter Site and several people commented about me using a GeneratePress child theme.
So, today I decided to make a video to show you how you can set up your very own GeneratePress child theme.

Great walkthrough! Super easy to follow, and I’ve got a couple tweaks to add to my starter site update this week 😄🙌

Hi, I’ve reached a point where I’m unsure about the best approach to take. I have three options:
Using the GeneratePress free version with a custom child theme, or
Using the GeneratePress free version with code snippet plugins, or
    Upgrading to the GeneratePress premium.
I have access to all these choices but I’m unsure about the best path forward. please guide me

Hello, changes to the style sheet are not automatically reflected on the site but rather you have to clear the browser's cache. Is there any way to make the changes automatically?

Thanks for this video, Kyle. I am currently developing a theme on top of GP but have done so with the GP main theme enabled. Now I am wondering how to port the customizations of the GP theme into the active child theme. Any suggestions?

@Kyle..., I'm getting a patchstack roadblock from the /generate link (same with /generate-youtube-bonus/). Access Denied Code 22. Just a heads up.

I watched the whole video just from seeing the thumbnail 😂.

Did it feel weird to erase my youngest daughter's face out of one of our first pictures together (just moments after she was born) and replace it with a GeneratePress logo just to make a dumb TH-cam thumbnail?
      Yes. Yes, it did.

Aren't child themes a thing of the past?

Some people would say WordPress is a thing of the past! But, I'm a dinosaur 🦕

Wordpress is a thing of the present. Sadly some people aren't keeping up with it. Child themes and pagebuilders are dead now.

The how has been covered ad naseum. The why has become more and more irrelevant. Don't get stuck in the past. Child themes are DEAD. Only a fool would still want to go that way. You probably still use elementor or divi LOL

      Why are child themes dead?

I just talked to my child theme and it's very much alive. You had me worried though! 😅 ;-)
