Noel once told a story about how he met Morrissey on the street, and he asked him where he was going, and Noel said to a party later, and he invited Morrissey. Later that day Noel found a letter on his door from Morrissey stating that he couldn't make it to the party, but they should go shoplifting sometime.

I worked on the film about Morrissey “England is Mine” we shot lots near his family home in Manchester…. One day this guy came up to me ( he was walking his dog ) “mate are you shooting this film about Morrissey?” … “Yes” my response…. “My mum battered him, he called my sister a tart, so she went round to his house and gave him what for” I laughed so much !!!…. I saw The Smiths live only once as a student. I was a massive fan. It was 1987 in Brixton London. It wasn’t as I imagined. They rocked out and the whole thing was powerful and a pure joy. I’ve not seen guitar playing like it before or since. Marr was electric. It just happened to be the last live gig they ever played. Decades later I saw Marr’s band and Morrissey up in Newcastle. Just such amazingly talented artists. It would be a bum fight to get tickets if they ever reformed the Smiths but that will never happen. Manchesters finest.

I've had tickets to see Morrissey four times and he canceled two of the times. I feel honored to have been in the presence of his completely supernatural magnificence at all. Standing literally at the foot of the stage as we we watched him laying on his back with his feet up on the drum kit while he sang "How Soon Is Now?" was a surreal experience I will never forget. There are a few people on the entire planet who I feel can get away with almost anything because of their genius, and Morrissey is one of them. He is an odd creature, and being an odd creature myself, if totally anonymous, I accept his proclivities. I will add that I don't feel that he is racist. People that go crazy calling him racist are mostly made up of the very distasteful current trend of those that want to show you how morally superior they are on social media. If Morrissey is guilty of anything, I believe it is the thing that many of us of a certain age feel, of the passing of things that we loved, which admittedly are mostly associated with the fact that we were just young then. (And also maybe the fact that so many things WERE better then! 😜) I believe he misses the England and specifically London of old. And I also think that he, like many, were disillusioned and critical of things such as what happened in England within the last 20 years, such as huge protests by Muslims because a Muslim woman refused to have her driver's license photo taken without her burka completely covering everything but her eyes. Sorry, but when you move to another country, you go by their rules, it's not the other way around. Can you imagine if I moved to Iran or Iraq or Turkey and paraded around in rainbow hot pants ( not that I've EVER done that...😜) and said that I demanded a gay flag flying at every business? We know what would happen to me. (Before the morality police attack me, I'm not at all suggesting that that woman should have had any violence imposed against her.) I'm sure he has probably said a few things that maybe were a bit overboard, but as for things like calling the Chinese "subspecies" because of their treatment of animals, one of my best oldest friends visited China for 2 months about 5 years ago and he said I would be so horrified at the way they treat animals right on the street that he recommend I would never go there, which I wouldn't do anyway because I have no interest in going there. But let's face this, much of the human race and their treatment of animals, and of each other for that matter is despicable. Long live Morrissey. ❤️

Somehow things changed from presenting and playing music to lame comedy shows blabbering on with as many insignificant side-kicks as they can get whose only job is to laugh exaggeratedly at just about anything... And when they get round to it, they may even play some 'music' pre-selected by the station's programmer to fill up the blanks before going to commercials. Makes me vomit.

Morrissey doesn't need a bridge. To the dude who can only still get attention by talking shit or reminding people he was in the Smiths? Search Marr on here, you get mostly interviews of him talking about Morrissey (often unkindly) or him talking about this or that Smiths song, haha.
Morrissey has made at least five solo albums that are as good as any Smiths album; he continues to tour to packed houses, did a residency in Vegas the last two summers, etc. And Marrr's over there jumping on the "Morrissey is problematic" bandwagon and showing people how he wrote the chords to "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now," haha.
Marr needs a bridge to the present.
