  • We started our potato harvest in lovely flowing soil conditions for clean harvesting. However clean harvesting makes the potatoes vulnerable to impact damage and scuffing the skins so keeping the harvester full is very important.
    Just on leaving the yard a fuel bug house living in the fuel line shuts off flow to the engine. Quick fix however though shocking how the bug grew in that environment at all?
    A hydraulic cylinder on the Grimme 270’s rear axle steering separated with itself. The large nut inside the ram came undone causing the two components to separate. However we soon had it striped off. Larrington hydraulics stripped the cylinder and made it good before we refit.

    Those bars the potatoes 🥔 try to escape from could need a spacing clip 🔖 looks too springy to bend back. Never ending story on the harvester 😅 I can hear someone finding the boing funny 😹
