  • Grilling shrimp in their shells protects the delicate flesh, but seasonings are peeled away at the table. Could we deliver tender, flavorful grilled shrimp--without the shells?

    9-10-23.. Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Today was a good day for grilling, not a 95 degree day so on grill the Shrimp went.
I followed the recipe, But, I used a wok on the grill for the sauce and tossed in some finely chopped green onions when the Shrimp was added. The side dish from my garden was, garden fresh watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberrys, blueberries, and iceberg wedges for the salad. lt was a big hit. Thanks.

I'm a new widow and I think that I'm going to do this for 4th of July for myself. I have the shrimp already and the other ingredients too. Something special for me to bbq outside and have leftovers too.

I've been cooking shrimp in a wok with garlic, removing them then making a very similar sauce in the wok using lemon, butter and garlic, then adding the shrimp back, tossing it all together and serving the shrimp with a side salad or basic white rice, topped with sliced green onions on top. One of the quickest ways to cook shrimp and I've never had a bad review of it when serving to friends. Other than there never seems to be enough to go around. LOL

If you want to unskewer the shrimp like a pro, grab the first shrimp closest to the ring and pull the skewer out. All the shrimp will land where you have them placed.

Wonderful. I don't grill much these days. I suppose many are in that boat given summer temperatures. Love shrimp but I do sometimes overcook them. A sin. Does letting shrimp "wait" work? Also, if anyone has some scallop grilling recipes, I would love to hear of those. In any case, those shrimp looked awesome.

I used to just put mine in a lemon/garlic/olive oil marinade, sometimes Italian spice mix, maybe a bit of balsamic. But I always used 1 of those grill basket/tray/wok things, instead of skewers. Much easier to control. And make sure you remove the foot!! Very tough! Just grill until lightly charred and opaque, don't over cook. You can actually temp them, but I don't know cause I do it by sight n feel. But Google it?
