Operation Javier, and The Fall of Umbrella are really the best of both Chronicles games and the fact they are still canon shows how much Capcom cares for the coherence of the story of the franchise in general.

I cannot imagine the amount of pressure the devs had going into this game because they had some monumental shoes to fill. But from everything they've showcased to us so far it looks like they stepped up to the plate and hit a grand slam home run.
There's a few points I'd say could use some improvement, but I'm definitely seeing a 96/100 here in terms of the mix of "brings back the original and makes it better" It'll be better than the RE3 remake thats for damn sure, so i'm excited
I mean it's basically improving everything that didn't age well in the OG one, the clunky gameplay, the dated graphics, the annoying companion AI, etc, while also maintaining its essence. It's just a matter of finding out what was sacrificed in the process once the game comes out(if anything).
The cult members also have updated details like deformed facial features, medieval helmets and armor, giving them an even more terrifying appearance which befit the game's ambience. This includes added dialogues and quotes by Leon and Ashley and the updated partnership system for the both of them. Moreover, weapons can now dismember body parts of enemies at close range.
@@ACG7001 bruh what? The newer consoles allow a large amount of games to be ran at a steady 60fps, some can even be ran at 120fps- the older consoles lock their games at 30fps. The newer consoles have SSDs instead of HDDs which allow for way shorter loading times. Please know what you’re talking about before you say something
I just love the combat update they gave Leon! It makes sense for him to kick around zombies after the training and experience he’s gained! And I also love the new quick time dodges! Everything is so smooth I can’t wait for this game to come out!
Given how you now have more freedom of movement and more defensive options, I suspect enemies are going to get quite aggressive. Especially on professional.

The Garrador is not lethal enough. Leon took a hit to the head and only lost a small bit of life. Being able to parry his blades trivializes the danger he poses.
The amount of realistic interactions between leon and Ashley is sick. As simple as checking on her and asking if she's okay when he picks her up. This is what was missing in the original game.
One thing I realized when I thought about it is that the original didn't have dynamic voice lines during gameplay. All the voice lines were in cutscenes. So that's already an improvement, especially with how Leon can have more one-liners now that are contextual like the "no food for you" bit :)
They definitely added more depth to it with this remake and I definitrly agree that it was missing from the OG. So this addition of dynamic voice lines and interactions are so damn cool to see, for me.

It was just added for certain sections. The game is meant to be played by shooting and interacting with enemies and using all.methods available to survive.
Wdym? U can also use it to dodge projectiles as shown in 3rd trailer(instead of using the knife especially if u run out),and im betting some horizontal swing too, notably those scythe looking Las plagas.
I understand that a lot of people are excited for this remake but I don’t why I’m just feeling it. The knife mechanic looks to gimmicky and I would still prefer the original voice actors. Might just be nostalgia but can’t really tell until playing it

A really small but neat (to me) detail I noticed around 8:33 is how Leon's pistol stance switched when the cultist was much closer to him: It went from a position more suitable for steadier aiming to one used for close quarters or entering doors (like the Center Axis Relock that John Wick uses).
Yea, It seems capcom is doing their gun nut research, and that tac reload too, daym. Now I just gotta wait if shotgun pump syndrome remain unchanged xd
Honestly I wouldn't have caught that detail if you didn't point it out. I'm glad they're giving more details small or large. Seeing Leon use central axis relock like he does in the animated films is satisfying.
I noticed it there and with the knife fight with Krauser. Leon changes his footing from the original southpaw style stance he normally uses when you ready the knife (just like the original re4) and changes stances to an orthodox stance and brings the knife to his chest. Almost like a defensive stance in a way. Happened a few times too in the knife fight. I wonder if it's just a looks thing when people get too close or if they really planned it to be a part of the combat somehow. Looks really cool either way.
This Jodie-constipated-Foster look on Ashley, the change in the Merchant's voice and Salazar's new hair-do just don't work for me. Everything else seems AMAZING.
I always thought it was weird you use your binoculars like once in the village, and once in a cutscene after but I think only once where you actually control looking around. Glad to see it looks like you have multiple points to use them now.
Legit replayed RE4 last week before this trailer and was like "it would be cool if they added more binocular parts" - didnt think itd happen but it did!! Also, you use binoculars in a cutscene at the castle too after Salazar takes away Ashley

I miss the merchant original voice dub, but this one still pretty cool and I think was nice to keep him as the classic version, with all his gear and stuff - not changing it for other mechanic in the gameplay, as a selling machine or something like it.

Was lucky to get my Collectors Edition on lock. This looks simply outstanding and after seeing this, I can see they put so much love into it. And also after seeing this I can't even imagine what the rest of the game is going to be like. Leon has more melee options (like 5 it seems like) he may even have more melee moves but who knows till the game drops

Commandeering that giant siege cannon is incredibly cool. This is going to be one hell of a remake that really stay true to its origins but with better ameliorations.
I'm quite critical of remakes due to their almost impossible task of surpassing the original. After seeing the gameplay though, this could be one of those very rare exceptions. I'm pretty hyped.
Awesome and astonishing details and effects, kudos to the developers and artists. This remake would definitely surpassed its first two predecessors but more remains to be seen especially Another Order/Separate Ways and the boss battles.
I'm really hoping they release this with Separate Ways already included, it's a solid "B Scenario" and it also would bring Wesker to his first ever RE Engine version

I just love the combat update they gave Leon! It makes sense for him to kick around zombies after the training and experience he’s gained! And I also love the new quick time dodges! Everything is so smooth I can’t wait for this game to come out!
Given how you now have more freedom of movement and more defensive options, I suspect enemies are going to get quite aggressive. Especially on professional.

I like how the gunplay and bullet impact physics look a lot more lively, responsive, in your face than the re2 and 3 remakes. In those games, the bullets felt and looked like harmless peas when you’d shoot enemies

The Garrador is not lethal enough. Leon took a hit to the head and only lost a small bit of life. Being able to parry his blades trivializes the danger he poses.

The amount of realistic interactions between leon and Ashley is sick. As simple as checking on her and asking if she's okay when he picks her up. This is what was missing in the original game.
One thing I realized when I thought about it is that the original didn't have dynamic voice lines during gameplay. All the voice lines were in cutscenes.
So that's already an improvement, especially with how Leon can have more one-liners now that are contextual like the "no food for you" bit :)

They definitely added more depth to it with this remake and I definitrly agree that it was missing from the OG. So this addition of dynamic voice lines and interactions are so damn cool to see, for me.

Cuando era niño me costaba pasar de un capitulo al otro porque el miedo me impedia jugar y pasaba la mayor parte del tiempo en el inventario acomodando las armas, cuando empece a crecer y pude pasarme el juego por primera vez y descubrí las opciones nuevas, este se volvio un videojuego que jamas deje de jugar, cuando tengo la oportunidad siempre lo vuelvo a instalar y me tiro horas en completarlo desde cero otra vez, y no me ha pasado con ningun otro. Krauser's deep and agonising voice is a clear sign of PTSD and seething anger against Leon and his taunting dialogues are far more direct yet brutal.
I actually prefer the OG VA, having said that I’ll have to hear more dialogue from him and maybe his new voice will grow on me.

I LOVE the crouch/stealth mechanic! It’s going to add a whole new dynamic to the game. I just hope there’s more scenarios to utilize it other than the “scripted” ones
It was just added for certain sections. The game is meant to be played by shooting and interacting with enemies and using all.methods available to survive.
Wdym? U can also use it to dodge projectiles as shown in 3rd trailer(instead of using the knife especially if u run out),and im betting some horizontal swing too, notably those scythe looking Las plagas.

A really small but neat (to me) detail I noticed around 8:33 is how Leon's pistol stance switched when the cultist was much closer to him: It went from a position more suitable for steadier aiming to one used for close quarters or entering doors (like the Center Axis Relock that John Wick uses).

I noticed it there and with the knife fight with Krauser. Leon changes his footing from the original southpaw style stance he normally uses when you ready the knife (just like the original re4) and changes stances to an orthodox stance and brings the knife to his chest. Almost like a defensive stance in a way. Happened a few times too in the knife fight. I wonder if it's just a looks thing when people get too close or if they really planned it to be a part of the combat somehow. Looks really cool either way.
This Jodie-constipated-Foster look on Ashley, the change in the Merchant's voice and Salazar's new hair-do just don't work for me. Everything else seems AMAZING.
I always thought it was weird you use your binoculars like once in the village, and once in a cutscene after but I think only once where you actually control looking around. Glad to see it looks like you have multiple points to use them now.
U used them also right before the lake fight in the boat on the hill. You watch the ganados drop a body in the water.

I miss the merchant original voice dub, but this one still pretty cool and I think was nice to keep him as the classic version, with all his gear and stuff - not changing it for other mechanic in the gameplay, as a selling machine or something like it.

Was lucky to get my Collectors Edition on lock. This looks simply outstanding and after seeing this, I can see they put so much love into it. And also after seeing this I can't even imagine what the rest of the game is going to be like. Leon has more melee options (like 5 it seems like) he may even have more melee moves but who knows till the game drops

Got emotional watching this. So many childhood memories. This is a masterpiece already, just like the original one. Literally almost cried to this shit.
Commandeering that giant siege cannon is incredibly cool. This is going to be one hell of a remake that really stay true to its origins but with better ameliorations.

I'm quite critical of remakes due to their almost impossible task of surpassing the original.
After seeing the gameplay though, this could be one of those very rare exceptions. I'm pretty hyped.

Awesome and astonishing details and effects, kudos to the developers and artists. This remake would definitely surpassed its first two predecessors but more remains to be seen especially Another Order/Separate Ways and the boss battles.
I'm really hoping they release this with Separate Ways already included, it's a solid "B Scenario" and it also would bring Wesker to his first ever RE Engine version
