I think this is my favourite of of the walk back videos. Lovely views and a wonderful station.
I used the old station at Exmouth, back in the seventies, and its moderrn day replacement is a travesty.
I hope we have learned a little since then.

Very nice, apart from those steps! The footpath along the shoreline looked great, though.

Sadly you gotta do the climb to get the view. It was worth it. Although Tweedle Dum and Dee were really quite menacing. I reckon they could have some under-5s in tears!
      Thanks for watching 👍

@@JohnnyHooverTravels Exmouth "station" is awful. It's more like a halt, or even a platform.

Love these ride out/walk back videos you do, it was very good of you to gallop around in the damp here for our entertainment. The Tweedles reminded me of John Prescott :D

Whoa! Thanks so much for the super-thanks thing! Very much appreciated ❤️
Hmm yes. There is a bit of old Prescott in them. He was one of our local MPs in Hull when I lived there. He was also in my branch of the TGWU when I was there.

You missed out on a treat: Molly's Café is just to your left as you exit Llandudno station. Great food, friendly service, and very reasonable prices. Of course getting there (and back) from my home in Ramsgate isn't cheap, but sometimes one just feels like treating oneself!
Pre-Covid it was a favourite Saturday day out, because of my railcard being valid all day.
06.05 HS1 to St Pancras, then the 08.00 fast train to Chester. Buy my 1-Day North Wales rover ticket, (covers the buses as well) grab a quick coffee, and enjoy some people-watching as we trundled gently along that beautiful coastline. I'd be in Molly's by about eleven, and still have a good four or five hours at leisure before I needed to head homeward.

that sound like a great day out, and yes, I do now feel like I missed out on Molly's. Oh well. Next time!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 👍

I definitely would like to go to North Wales by train. The Class 197 Civity that CAF have manufactured are so beautiful.

Haha and others have commented that they are ugly! Tbf that is what's so great about the world. That we all enjoy different things.
Thank you for your continued support. Much appreciated 👍

Haha yes. Thought it worth a mention. He's one of my favourite TH-camrs, so it was more a homage than a dig!

Great bonus video, as always, enjoy these ride out / walk backs you do. The views looked pretty good for a grim March day, so they must be stunning on a nice summers day. Is it me or do those new class 197s look really ugly? Plus how does the driver see anything with the carriage connecting walkways obscuring most of their view??

    • @JohnnyHooverTravels
      @JohnnyHooverTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks. I like them too cos I don't want to be stuck on a train all day!
As for the looks. I know what you mean. Without a full front at the cab end, trains do end up looking a bit odd. I think the view for the driver must be fine though.
