I love how they were a positive version of being codependent. Instead of being a toxic relationship, they formed one that was perfectly justified by their powers' weaknesses. With her, Cloak does not need to drain living people like some kind of vampire. With him, Dagger does not overload her power and involuntarily discharge. I was expecting them to have some kind of "night of passion" child for decades after their comics ended being the protagonist.
its interesting that their story is set around addiction because their powers create addiction within themselves cloak constantly need to eat light or he goes crazy and dagger needs to constantly uses her powers or she will release to much energy, meaning cloak is addicted to light and dagger is a user of light

All life is balanced the fact that their powers are entwined it shows the meta human biology is changing. Same with Lex Luthor seeking immortality with Braniac both had nothing to gain merely assimilated each other to survive thier own troubled minds.
I love how Cloak and Dagger complement each other. Plus, if they ever have a falling out, they both have a real motive to stick together. Pragmatism. No matter what, it is pragmatic they never end their bond completely.
sounds like the tv show flipped the two stories. for me it was a good decision. i loved the first two episodes

I loved Cloak And Dagger I can't Believe the show wasn't renewed for a 3rd season it was so good.
He said that Cloak goes "crazy" if he doesn't get a consistent SUPPLY OF "LIGHT", his "DRUG", and Dagger, She gets a " fever" ever time she doesn't USE her "power", just like a drug addict. Idk if the creater's did this on purpose or if it's an accident but It's genius. I give massive props to the people who thought of this because, no joke, this is some Phd shit!
King Mo237 it's pretty interesting. in an issue of 80s Marvel fanfare, It was shown that while cloak needs daggers light, dagger needs cloaks darkness to purge the excess light she produces and "cool the fires" within her.... Without each other, there powers run amok.similar to addiction.....They balance each other out, but because of these abilities, they may never be able to go "home", or live a "normal" life...it's an awesome story.....Sure it may be considered dark by some, but it is what it is....And what it is IS fantastic...

No doubt this will probably become a plot element, but it's not a deal breaker unlike Hulk's Rampages.

The show was actually really good no idea why it ended or got cancelled or whatever
I got to see the first episode a few weeks back at London Comicon and although they've changed a lot of the backstory of cloak and dagger they've still got the same feel as the comics. Cloak is now from wealth and dagger now comes from a poor background which makes an interesting dynamic between the two characters. I'm really excited to see where the rest of the series goes.

Why would Dagger's powers go for so long without being used? Even if she wasn't doing hero work I'd assume she could just manifest her light to feed Cloak while burning off the excess. Alternatively she could just create a load of Daggers and set them down in a sink or something to burn out.
I just ran across this tv series by accident...I was like what is this? I grew up reading C & D and was caught off guard. Man, it had me hook...what a well written series!

I could see D’Sparye and Mister Negative as villains for the show. I know Negative is a Spider-Man villain, but the Arrow Tv show has villains that belong to Batman like Deadshot and Deathstroke.

Ya. I was thinking their powers were completely opposite and that they need each other to survive. But the truth is that it's both. Marvel always gets close with some form of problem. Whether it's physical, psychological, financial, or something similar.
Doctor Strange - His hands, Spider-Man (Peter Park) - him & Aunt May are barely scraping by (Spectacular Spider-Man), White Knight (or is Moon Knight?) - Schizophrenic, Ironman - relies on an alternate source as a substitute heart (or something like that).
You get my point. So you're not far from all that. They mind as well as be each other's drug.

Already a Runaways crossover at the end of Season 3 Ep. 7 and Ep. 8... Both series axed this year after Kevin the fuckboy cunt Feige took over as the new CCO at Marvel... They were both 51/50 dope, maybe by some miracle they can be picked up and revamped by Disney+ as part of their MCU vision, really to just gain more subscribers for their Marvel Studios content, which could Hopefully lead into their aspirations to crossover the movies and series rather than throw in the occasional cross-reference to the movies in the web-series...

This video was so informative. I remember playing Spiderman on Sega Genesis and Cloak & Dagger came to the rescue. I never made it far or learned about them because the game was too hard lol. I like the idea of contrasting elements and the war on drugs. Can’t wait to learn more.

I like more the origin in the TV series. More complex and deep.
Dagger is the light being projects out light and cloak is the dark vampire that feeds off of that light and gets energy from it. These characters do a good job at explaining how dark and light play off of each other.

I like Hulu/FF background story WAY better, which is a really good indication that the show is going to be AWESOME. Which it really is Awesome, from everything he said in this video I think the TV show is 100x's Better than the Comics. The only thing I wish they would have done different in the Show as far as the Origin background goes, is I wish they would of used something besides an Oil Rig catastrophe, like a Nuclear Plant or Nuclear Sub, or somehthing like that vs an Oil Rig. I just dont know of anything on an Oil Rig that could of done what it did in the show. Of course we havent gotten the full story on just what caused the accident or exactly what other crazy stuff could of been going on, on the Oil Rig. Regardless Im LOVING the show.

The first time I heard of these two was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. The games may have been ok but they featured so much Marvel characters.

There was also the (very poorly drawn) series in the New Mutants where it was suggested that their powers were demon in origin. They were transferred to Sunspot and Wolfsbane temporarily, making their own mutant powers go wild.
