- Accused of the death of 5 fishermen in the waters off the coast of Gujarat when their cargo boat rammed into a dhow, two Pakistani sailors spent almost 5 years in lock down in a Mumbai hotel room. This story is a tribute to the Indian justice system that ultimately gave the two sailors their freedom. It’s all applause to India’s judiciary & authorities who didn’t make a hype & also we all know the amount of cases they handle...think what happens when in Pakistan they take everything cruel way & they go to unknown destination where no information to anyone , everything under cover of army. Judiciary work under pressure of them ...Love you my land , also Pakistan as a land , there is no one who have guts to fight against atrocities of army over there, either they run away or murdered.

@@Rustamay They were not even jailed, lets compare it to Kuldeep Singh who spent 29 years of torture like high voltage torches in a Pakistani cell for accidently crossing the unmarked LOC.
If the same would have been in Pakistan, we would've had a Sarabjit and been having Kulbhushan Jadhav. That's what a 'difference' is defined between India and Pakistan.

Regardless of their nationality, they lost 5 years of their lives for a mistake they never did. Sad the judiciary took so long to give them their freedom.
We have innocent fishermen captivated by Pakistan for more than 10 years and to their misfortune they don't even get to fight a case

hi , I am a sailor too and sailing for past 12 years , as per my assesment the fishing boat is at fault , negligence was from their end , u dont sleep in the mid ocean ever, who is keeping navigational watch in the fishing boat , this case should be shut and the fisherman should be held responsible , this is the issue at sea , ROR is made for all not just for bigger ships , if u are at sea u ought to follow that.
when there is a cyclist, car , truck , bike on the road , they should follow traffic rules , same at sea . The cyclist is sleeping and the truck hits him, does that make the truck responsible.?

Indian judiciary has to be cautious and not judge anyone based on prejudice. Thank God good sense prevailed.

Because of Congress govt. at the centre at that time. Even Kerala Congress CM protested against the release stating they won't be back. But,Congress central govt. Didn't listen to Kerala State govt.

Shame on indian judicial system that justice was delayed. Those innocent sailors lost 5 years of their life. 5 years they could have spent with their family. Imagine this happening with you or your loved ones. Hope they are at a better place in their life.

Can India not have a law that says Pakistani crew cannot work on ships, aircraft, merchant vessels touching India. What a colossal waste of money for a ‘poor’ country like India. Their 5 year shelterning, trips every two years to Delhi. Yes, some Mumbai policemen got their wages paid, but govt deficits meant rupee went from 50 to 70 USD.

@Bisbo, but how did those fisherman knew the name of their ship(MS BATIS) if it was always 9 km away, can't it be possible, they must have erased all evidence as soon as they reached gujarat, and named the ship in some other language.

@@BisboWorld I don't think this name is that common and I believe whether he was sleepy or not doesn't matter, if really a ship collision had happened he must had seen it. So it is sure that there was a big collision (ship name was not captured, so they randomly gave name of Pakistanis).
And
Big ships might have location recorder but small ships don't have. And 9km is not a big gap, such deviations by small ship owner is not a big deal.
We indians never use any thing under the recommended limits, whether it is Indian jails or Indian tractor. So only this fault is left in such cases where nothing can be done and hence we indians do not improve.
3 person died in road accident all blame to they were overloaded on bike not the real reason, poor roads and pot holes.
