I wanted to see how he cut the downpipe to fit the divertor - why show the totally obvious bits like fitting the hose to the butt really?
Exactly - this video is no use at all in that respect. How could they not realise that would be what we all wanted to know. Sorry - that's a down-thumb for ineptitude.

No mention of THE MOST critical bit.....if the two spouts are not level it wont work...diverter too low...butt wont fill at all...diverter too high...butt will flood over and wont stop. Millimetres make a big difference. ...and it isn't much fun trying to hack a section out of the downpipe in situ and damn difficult in a corner of a house/fence when you cannot get your saw going well.
I'm seeing so many videos give varying advice what the best position should be.

@@r1t5o12 The water level in the butt will get no higher than the level of the lip of the overflow within the interceptor. The connecting pipe must be level or better, slightly slope downwards, or the interceptor won't do anything. The top of the water butt should be a couple of centimetres or so above the overflow lip, so that the butt can't overfill.
I understood this example lot better of the height that hose needs to be at thanks. 👏👏💦

I thought it was ridiculous to show half the process.
The obstruction in the downpipe would make this product a debris trap and non compliant when fitted in any area of the World that has minimum downpipe sizing regulations. Also, storing rainwater in a tank/vessel that does not have mosquito/pest/vermin proof mesh protection is also prohibited in regions/countries where there are proper regulations. Whereabouts was this video made? The house exterior doesn't look third world but the product certainly is!
Sorry but I don’t see any point in making a video that only gives partial information and instructions. No explanation as to how to connect to the downpipe 🤨
I shall make sure I have my hard hat and high vis vest on when carrying out this dangerous procedure.
