Dark History Turn A is the endgame for all mecha. The only gundam that can toe-to-toe with DHTA is ELS Qan[T] 00 and Unicorn Full Powered. Note : Berbatos is a good gundam. But it cant survive even facing with RX-78. This note is for people who only watch Ironblood Orphan. 😅
Barby bodies RX-78-2 without even looking. Not only is it WAY more aggressive, its armorments would tear the RX apart, and its nanolite armor just says 'no' to beam-based weaponry. The only thing RX can do is use the Hyper Hammer or do some MMA, and Mikazuki usually goes straight for the cockpit. Gundams in IBO are exactly the same, its their armorments that make them different. Ruishin-Go, Barbatos, Asteroth, same exact frame, but vastly diffrent roles. Barbatos is a in-fighter, so his kit grants him better agility and strength, and he's VERY aggressive. Char may be able to out-manuviour him but eventually would succumb. Unicorn on the other hand could just turn it off xD
Barbatos Lupus Rex should be on this list, but I'm glad you didn't include it. The only thing its got going for it, is it's beam resistant armor. It certainly wouldn't stand a chance against the Quanta or the Turn A.
I feel like it's Pilot and how he took care of things made it feel more stronger then what it was. The badassNESS he definitely takes number 1. I rewatch iron orphans 5 times This new game came out and I thought it be funny to already think barbatos was a beast lore wise (because he's a beast in that game.) Meanwhile he's not lol.

@Diamond colony647 the ELS Qan T stands a reasonable chance, seeing as it's made up of shape-shifting aliens instead of traditional technology (thus may resist MLB), plus the pilot is as well with their consciousness backed up (thus resists the pilot kill methods mentioned in the books), with both short and long ranged teleportation for mobility, (short range is instantaneous), and is linked to a quantum computer with insane predictive capabilities. The qan t and els variant are also powered by a GN drive, which is, as defined in the supplemental materials, utilizing a miniature black hole as well, so power output is similar. (As an aside, as I know a lot of people like bringing up how Turn A is meant to end and reset every Gundam Series timeline, it's notable that the AD timeline in Gundam must either be the final of the series, or an alternate timeline from the Turn A cycle, on account of 3 factors; total exhaustion of Earth's oil and natural gas, human extraterrestrial contact and subsequent mutual galactic colonization, and that the canonical end of the series sees the entirety of the human race evolved into innovators, and with a large number as symbiotes with the ELS.)
Turn A is like . . . when you wanna win over the final boss of the game using wood stick and then you died, you bringing the gun out just because... yeah
I cant say i know much about the first five on this list but the top five from Wing Zero to Turn A sounds about right! lol QUESTION!: could the maxed out QuanT GN particles neutralize the nano machines of the TurnA? "diversely mutable photons" is how Katagiri described GN particals... Nano machines should be vulnerable to that photon energy. this is a legit question that deserves a few ponders

I feel like limiting it to only ones shown in the anime is unfair as there are some stupidly powerful Gundam mechanic in the mangas and novels. Here's a few: Lord Astray Omega: Hailing from the Cosmic Era, 50% of the Lord Omega is made out of the, not functionally, not practically, but literally unbreakable Rare Metal Omega (no relations to the IBO Rare Metal). Not to mention the insanely high specs that the Lord Omega has, it was able to stand it's ground in a 2v1 against the Astray Blue Frame Second Revise and Astray Mirage Frame 3rd Issue, two Mobile Suits that are also contenders for the best MS in CE. Ultimately it barely met it's match when facing against the Gold Frame Amaterasu which is also made partly out of Rare Metal Omega. But even then it need to gain a massive boost through Voiture Lumiere and a Lohengrin Cannon charged by three MS. Ending the fight where the only remaining parts of both machines were the ones built in Rare Metal Omega (again, literally unbreakable). Here's the thing tho. Lord Astray Omega is incomplete. Originally it was designed to be made out of 100% Rare Metal Omega but politics got in the way. Lowe Guele, the definitive best engineer in the entire Gundam Multiverse, even said that, if Lord Astray Omega is completed, it would be impossible to defeat even using weapons made out of Rare Metal Omega. Griepe: Coming from After Colony, the Griepe currently has the highest listed power output of any MS, not counting Turn A and X. It's power output is 18945 kilowatts, which already is a pretty high number. But as a comparison, The montrous V2 Gundam can only output 7510 kW. THIS FUCKING THANG CAN OUTPUT 2.5 TIMES MORE THAN MR. WINGS OF LIGHT.
Honestly ELS Qanta would be stronger then the TurnA. Even with the moonlight butterfly, ELS Qanta is actually organic (from fusing the ELS lifeform with the 00 Qanta), and it would definitly beat TurnA

There are no Gundams comparable to RX0, TurnA and QanT. Those can teleport, bend reality and annihilate everything. I'm not even including stuff like QanT ELS, which literally turns it into a shape-shifting living-metal alien capable of continuous evollution. This is way beyond nanotech.

I feel like yea, Crystalized Unicorn, Els Quanta and the Dark History Turn A are three of the most powerful mecha in gundam, but I were to rank these 3 it would be ; weakest to strongest Crystalized Unicorn, Dark History Turn A then Els Quanta. reason being that Crystalized Unicorn while powerful, it's still inside the solar system can be effected by DHTA power of resetting the civilization, while Els Quanta is already beyond the solar system and excluding the moonlight butterfly, Els Quanta has all DHTA ability such as teleportation and regeneration. I always thought of a mashed gundam universe that DHTA threaten to reset the civilization again and the main gundam cast worked together to stop it, with Crystalized Unicorn as the key role to defeating the DHTA. eventually the cast would almost failed and in the nick of time saved by Els Quanta and tried to reason with DHTA, but eventually ended with the two fighting, with Els Quanta joining the cast, the power gap is widen and finally defeated DHTA, stopping the the DHTA for the first time from resetting the timeline. Idk I'm just having fun with with my imagination
The only thing i can argue is the phenex, it has shown much more power than The unicorn in just a few minutes in the final fight. I would put it in the unicorn spot
