Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I'd be on board with that idea but doubt iFixIt would agree. Either thanks again. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing. I would really appreciate it.
So grateful for your video as it solved my problem when the plastic frame also needed to be removed. It would have been great if iFixit had included that in their installation guide.
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I glad the video was helpful to you in some way. I think you may have already but if not please consider subscribing. I would really appreciate it.
Thank you for posting this. It was a very big help and your video gave me the confidence to replace my broken screen. One thing I did, as I was removing the broken screen was inadvertently turn the phone back on. As the currently screen was further damaged, I wasn't able to tap the shut down button that is usually displayed on the screen. When it came time to test if the screen was working, it wouldn't show anything as the phone was already powered on. I later found that holding all 3 buttons on the side, the power and 2 volume buttons, for 20-30 seconds will power the phone off, without the need for the screen button way. I was then able to power the phone back on and see the screen working. Thought I's add this, just in case someone else finds themselves in that predicament. Thanks again for your video and a great example on the process that has helped me and many others.
Hi, thanks for watching and the comments. I’m glad you found the video helpful. That’s also some good information about shutting the phone down. I’m sure that’s happened to other people so thanks for sharing that. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate that!
Nice to see a warts and all fix. It's the same with car fix videos, their fix on video is always straight forward but when you do it you get seized bolts and and snapped connectors etc. Just broken my 7 pro so this will be useful. I've done about 3 phones before but always best to get as much info as you can for each model
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. Yeah most videos that are selling a product are done so in a perfect world. It's never exactly as they show it. Either way if you haven't done so already please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for the video. Seeing this will definitely make it easier for me to fix my phone since you did the trial and error part for us. I subscribed and liked
Wish I had watched your video first. Would have been nice if Ifix it would have mentioned that plastic frame may stick in the phone. It wasn't till I put the adhesive on that I realized something doesn't look right 🙄 Was excited to have my phone back. They should post your video on their website over there's.
Hi thanks for watching and the super nice comments. That was a bad time to discover the frame.. either way I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it!
Excellent tutorial. Ifixit's instructions on their website suck. I took my screen off cold with a knife. Easiest screen to remove I've ever messed with. Thanks brother.
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. Sometimes things can get overly complicated. Razor blade did well too. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like. I would really appreciate it!
I transplanted my finger sensor which didn't work very well either and so after I transplanted it on to this new screen then all of a sudden not only does it work consistently it works through a really thick flexible plastic screen protector from a 10 year old Kindle tablet.
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. My finger sensor has never worked very well. I’m old and my fingers are worn pretty badly so that might be the problem with mine. I liked the Pixel 3’s because the sensor was on the back of the phone and I used a different finger. I think you may have already but if not please consider subscribing. I would really appreciate it.
The iFixit website has comprehensive guides for many types of repairs, including replacing the Pixel 7 pro screen. Those manuals are updated and users can leave their questions and comments. I think that's the core function of that website, it's almost impressive that you missed that, haha 😋. Anyway, thanks for sharing your video!
Hi, thanks for watching and the comments. The online instructions that I found were really incomplete. Using the guitar pick supplied with the kit, in my opinion would no way work to separate the screen from the case. I think sometimes they fudge a little to make the kits easier than they are. Either way, again I appreciate the feedback. If you haven't done so already please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it.
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS Yes, I recognize that. In addition to that manual, I also watched a number of TH-cam videos to get my questions answered and I noticed that they all had their own ways to arrive at the same outcome. Thank you for your answer and again for sharing your approach which is always worth appreciation 👍
@@NINEPOINTFIVEPROJECTS I had no issues with the ifixit guide, though it wasn't my first rodeo. I think ifixit would appreciate the feedback if given directly to them, so they can improve the guides for everyone, especially those new to repairing :)
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. I'm sure they wouldn't mind feedback from individuals that use their products. If they would take that and add the possible variations to their instructions would be helpful. Either way I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate it!
Hi, thanks for watching and the comments. I'm not sure if the difference in the 7a compared to the 7 Pro. Probably the most important thing is to not go too deep with the guitar pick, or like in my case a razor blade. Also as you see in my video I didn't do it necessarily the correct way, but it still worked out. By all means let me know how yours goes. Either way thanks again. I think you may have already done so but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I would really appreciate that!
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. It really wasn't hard to do. The plastic things included for removing the screen didn't work for me as you saw in the video. The razor blade did though. I think you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. Thank you.
i have a shattered Google pixel 7a. just the glass is the problem. but after watching your video vs JUST a glass replacement, im wondering if I'll save myself time and aggravation by just replacing both, like you did here... thoughts?!

Hi, thanks for watching and the comments. Yes, I did get it to work, but I have never had any finger print scanner to work consistently. I think my old finger prints are distorted and hard to read. Either way thanks again for watching and if you haven't done so already please consider Subscribing and hitting the like button. I really do appreciate that as I try to grow my channel.
Your guide was far better then the video and guide on their website. Let alone their website guide doesnt include the putting it together part, only taking it apart. It was far more detailed, far more step by step and great reminders as the frame around the phone, i swore that was part of the phone until you said it had to be removed. Their video/guide doesnt really clear that up very well
Hey there! Thanks for watching and the very kind comments! Glad it helped you. I tink you may have already but if not please consider Subscribing and Liking my channel. I would really appreciate it!
Hi thanks for watching and the comments. Yes I know but to be honest repairing something like this rarely goes exactly the way it's shown. Not just them but other companies as well. This is better than 99% of the tutorials out there. iFixIt should just send you a bunch of broken phones and laptops for you to film fixing.

Hey, how did it go?
The cracked my 7a's glass a bit and thinking of replacing it with ifixit kit.
Very nice video, simple to follow along with. But you make it look so easy.

The microwave bag thing is to warm and soften the adhesive glue to make removing the screen easier right?

Hi, my pixel 7 pro bottom mic doesn't work after the screen replacement with the original display do u know why?
Hi, no I'm sorry I don't. If you can remove the screen again check the ribbon cables.
The same problem after screen replacement 😢
Sorry, I wouldn't know why.
Is all connectors connected carefully but firm? May need to replace the mic itself if that's possible?
Did you ever get the fingerprint scanner to work? Great Video. I ordered mine.

No
I seen people add glue. Is that necessary??
I don't think so if you use the seal that comes with the kit.
