@@Stinoco The right does NOT support individual thought. When I stated I was against invading Iraq I was called a terrorist supporter by right-wingers for not towing the Bush Jr. government line. Anyone who disagreed was a "commie lib".
It's true. But make no mistake. This is a problem on both sides of the aisle. Fox News is as bad as CNN on their own end. Breitbart is. As bad a Huffington post. Etc.
I had a neighbor call me out on social media for being a "left wing libtard". I asked her not to call me names, as I had never said anything like that to her, and that I respected her right to have a different opinion. The funny thing is, she is a very nice person and would NEVER have said anything like that to me in person! People who get sucked into the anger/paranoia/distrust cycle seem to forget that these are real actual human beings that are being vilified.
Very VERY sad. So many wasted years filled with hate in his heart. I’m happy she got her dad, and healthy family dynamic back, just wish these dangerous, hate-filled opinion “media” sites didn’t exist.
I agree with you, opinions shouldn’t be paraded as truth. I just want to state that this video is also an opinion (as cited in the upper right hand corner), and to some this channel may be a hate-filled opinion “media” site.
They have to destroy Fox if they can since Fox does not go along with their agenda. It's pure brainwashing. Muddy the Waters. At least til now that Fox was bought by the same owners who own the rest of mainstream media, so it's pretty much a monopoly. The people are the ones fighting back. 24 states and counting in Supreme Court suing re the voter fraud, 48 states suing facebook. Joe Biden didn't win a thing. Lin Wood set the precedent winning millions for Nick Sandmann.
I love how the assumption is only fox news is terribly partisan, revealing the underlying partisanship of this video. Only republicans can be hateful, right? Every mainstream network is terrible (though I quite like Tucker Carlson every so often). Personally, people like Jimmy Dore, Kyle Kulinski and Ben Shapiro are far better, substantiate their points and don't say stupid things every five seconds!
@@JonathanGarcia-pq5hg at least 8 states have dueling electors.and there's more. Overwhelming evidence of fraud while the media acts as if Biden won, since before they were finished counting.
And our current crop of media seems to be doing that heavily. When I say "our" of course I can't measure who is in that plurality - today we have smart TVs and personalised media accounts so we can never tell how much content we get that others get differently - I have perceived that there are two BBC News', for example, one that was reasonable and one that is absurd. I can easily pretend that I know all about the limit on how much content can be received at my screens but I know I know too little to convince myself and I think I know a lot more about it than most people - that's the really scary thing - and I'm becoming convinced that most people are being trained by the media to think they know it all and that it all adds up to sweetness and light - enough people that it's hard to find free-thinkers who are not already abused into madness.
Bob marley wisely sang the phrase " Once a man and Twice a child....." That phrase among many others of his stuck with me for decades since I've heard it.

This is why critical thinking and media literacy are so, so, so important! I learned both sometime in early middle school. There's no excuse why anyone can't learn right now.
WELL, since the media is proffesional at lying, I would say that critical thinking is more important more than ever. The lying media today, no better than Joseph Goebbels! "Tell the people a lie a thousand times, and it will become the truth"
I know you have posted 2 years ago, but your statement have only grown stronger as time goes by. I think one thing that can be said is to make sure everyone disconnect from Mass Media as much as possible. As the saying goes, "If you don't watch the news, you're uninformed, but if you watched the news, then you're misinformed."
@theclanguagedeveloper5309 absolutely 💯 it sounds like you might enjoy the book Stolen Focus by Johann Hari, if you haven't already read it. It talks about this among other things and has been so radically insightful that I tell people: if you must only read one book for the rest of your life, let it be Stolen Focus. I'd love to know what you think of it!!
It’s ironic you mention critical thinking and media literacy when this entire channel is a far left brainwashing source that has relied on misinformation and emotional manipulation to enrage its viewers and readers. This entire channel’s purpose is to brainwash and manipulate their audience to have a distorted, hateful view of the opposition and not critically examine their beliefs or their own. People who solely rely on this channel are severely uneducated and brainwashed.

I’ve always noticed the presenters on that channel always seem so angry and combative during their segments and it carries over to their audience. They promote hatred as “patriotism” and so many people fall for it.
Yep. I was watching tomi lauren (a wannabe young fox host) "debating" politics with a democratic news type. She was literally, with every comment, attacking. Even when asked about her dog and favorite foods to try to humanize them. She turned it into a commentary on liberals being vegan and virtue signaling how her dog is a rescue and whether his was too.
I have a family member like this :( no one can even talk to him. He just yells at us when we try. He’s afraid to leave the house because of the communists who are apparently going to kill us all any day now. He drinks chlorine dioxide and thinks it cures all known illnesses. He tested positive for colon cancer and won’t get help. He’s so angry, he screams in my face when I won’t take his “alternative medicine”. I’m genuinely worried sometimes he’s going to snap because he is always talking about how he’s stockpiling guns and will have to fight and kill everyone who comes after our freedom
When I was in my teenage years, we almost always watched Fox News. I don't think I ever fully bought into the more divisive elements, but I'll admit I did fear the Left was going to turn the country into a socialist dictatorship. Then I went off to college and met a lot of people with differing viewpoints. At the same time, I rarely had time to sit and watch the news, which probably helped me break free from the spell. When I returned home after college, we were not doing well financially, so we got rid of cable. My mom and I both discovered how much happier we felt about things without watching Fox News. By the time we got cable back, Fox had gone so much farther to the right that it disgusted us. Then, like many people my age, I couldn't find a job in my field after graduation. While I went back through school for my engineering degree, I worked in retail, and that really opened my eyes about the kind of society we're living in. Right-wing media presents the idea that people who work minimum wage jobs like retail are either teenagers or just too lazy to get a real job. But I saw many people like me, struggling to find a job after college. I saw retired people who couldn't live on social security alone. I saw extremely hardworking people who'd been dealt a bad hand by life. With families to support, they couldn't afford to get an education on the off chance it might lend them a better job, and they were stuck in retail. Then I saw the way people, mostly people on the political right, treat retail workers. To a lot of them, it's like we aren't even human. I saw so much hatred and anger, and now I wonder how many of these people were fed a steady diet of Fox News. I'm happy to say that I'm out of retail now and working in engineering, but I will never forget the lessons I learned there and all the other lessons I've learned over time. When given a choice between hatred and empathy, I will always choose empathy. I pray that more people can break free from their hatred and distrust of anyone who thinks, acts, or looks different. This really hits close to home because I have some family members that are on the dark path of right-wing media. It pains me to see otherwise decent people falling into patterns of bigotry and hatred and selfishness.
I'm adding this word to my vocabulary. My clue word will be "bloated", since bloviate means to speak in an inflated way. Combine the two, and it's bloatiate. 😆 Or, how about a poem. The right wing agenda is bloated at best. They bloviate facts as they see them, and inflation comes next. 😆😆😆
@@harmonyexists2834 I use bombastic but may switch to bloviate. Love the poem! Rush is the reason we are so divided. Trump just took advantage of the growing Limbaugh divide.
This my experience with my mom. She has always been an angry person and in fact game from a long line of angry relatives. My father eventually left and I was on my own. I am a survivor having married a wonderful man that helped me to look at the world very differently. I have a kind and loving relationship with both my husband and daughter. I have given up on my mother. I still talk to her but have very limited communication. She lives through Face Book and Fox news and sadly so do many of my relatives. The holidays are especially sad for me because we don't get together with them anymore. They used to wonderful times and I will hold those memories dearly. Happy Thanksgiving.
Just to clarify, this video isn't about politics, it's about the dangers of propaganda. And presently in the US, there is way more propaganda coming from the right-wing media.
@@Buffypoodle No not just Fox News, but from memory I wouldn't be able to tell you the other ones, mainly because I live in Canada. But that's also why it's a bit easier for me to recognize propaganda when I see it, as being not concerned with US politics, we are less biased and a bit more objective towards it. It's also not only TV, it's media groups, radio shows, newspapers, some websites... What is important isn't to make a list of all the media groups to avoid, it is to develop critical thinking in order for you to recognise them. Let's suppose in a few years Fox becomes a more reliable source of information but because you were told to blacklist them, you are missing on important stuff, and instead you fall prey to left-wing propaganda. Your situation isn't better.
@@laurabarnes3993 That's easy: There's the usual Fox News propaganda from Carlson, Ingraham, and Hannity. Then there's One America News, Breitbart, the Blaze, Drudge Report, InfoWars, Zero Hedge, Real News Update, and many more. I can tell when a family member or friend starts getting into right-wing media, they literally get dumber every day until they're posting the same hatred and lies as the rest.
Dude what are you talking about? The left has droves of people running around in Ninja outfits beating journalists, Jews, and people who hold up American flags.
I'm sitting here sobbing... This is my experience too, and I've never been able to put words to it. Thank you. I feel alone in my family. Everyone is hooked to Fox News 24/7. I'm constantly overwhelmed with Facebook messages from family members -whom I love deeply- that call me "libtard" or "brainwashed" even over the smallest thing. I work at a church as an organist and youth director, but am constantly berated over "loosing my moral compass" or being a bad Christian. I'm appalled that my family has forgotten that disagreement does not equal someone being morally superior or inferior. But I'm equally frustrated that my morals could be questioned while my parents and grandparents laud the perverse language and actions of candidates like Donald Trump. It's incredibly sad. I feel I've lost my connection to what was good in family - it's gone. The raised me to be a noble and moral person and abandoned me to judge them with the morality they gave me. I almost rather have been ignorant so that I don't have to watch them corrupt. It's a sad world.
I feel for you as we all need connection to others but not at the cost of being true to ourselves. I would encourage you to connect with loving people of what ever political persuasion. Care what others think about us and we will always be their prisoner. Lao Tzu
I am so sorry to hear that. Hopefully you’re able to mend some bridges with your family. If not, it’s ok to distance oneself from toxic family. I’ve had to do it. Stay strong and continue to be a good, kind person
Yes! I had tussles with my lovely, gentle dad over Limbaugh, Falwell, and FOX. He did not live to be tested by Trump, but my mom did, and she believes all his nonsense.
Initially the thing that turned the tide was the hypocrisy of constantly hammering Obama for playing golf. He promised to stay in the White House and work. He spent more of our tax dollars in his first two years than Obama did in 8. In addition the money goes into HIS BUSINESS! Obama mostly played at military bases. There are plenty of examples of hypocrisy. Here’s another: he has railed against “chain migration.” Recently Melania’s parents got citizenship through CHAIN MIGRATION! The hypocrisy of the evangelicals supporting trump is off the charts as well.

I was just intrigued to become the weatherman but now I can see that they’ve changed drastically. They seem to be getting information from Facebook and using that as their sources.
This is intriguing, that this man experienced a reversal with the removal of the hate bias. His education and ability to accept data that refuted the previous propaganda indicates he was not emotionally attached to the hate. This is hopeful.
You’re right, this is hopeful. I use to only listen to news talk radio, and Fox News. I hated so much, everyone. I never tried to sympathize with anyone else. Then when I started working for home care I started to realize how horrible private insurance is, that’s when I started watching the daily show and John Oliver. I’ll tell you what, I’m so much happier, I’m more understanding because I try to put myself in other peoples’ shoes more.
My papaw went through that, however he had only changed to being fiscally republican for George Bush. Didnt care much for him, wasnt conservative in any other way, never got hateful, but it was still surprising. After Bush he went back to being left leaning. I think as a WWII vet he wanted to try something different, hoping we would have another great leader, and just messed up. This is far more extreme, and gives hope for others to recover. It is a cult truly.

I’m going through this with my husband. He started watching Fox News and he changed. We were always liberals till Trump became president, and now he’s running again it’s worse. He stays in the bedroom watching news u p to ten hours while I stay downstairs with all our pets. I do everything alone. All my meals alone, taking care of 6 pets, two out of three of our kids don’t talk to him. @Oscar Bastidas Who told you that? I've heard it before but it's not based on any research or statistics. Anger does drive some ppl, but usually not in a constructive way. Don't believe what you're told just because you like the sound of it. There are few more destructive emotions to an individual, except maybe jealousy. Research some basic phycology and biology to learn some of negative effects anger has on a person's physical and mental health. It's a fascinating subject if it interests you. Also you'll find out what causes anger. Apart from an imbalance in brain chemistry, it generally derives from emotional pain.
@Oscar Bastidas Anger is the enemy of reason - which is exactly why these right-wingers keep their adherents continually in a state of anger and hostility. As this video demonstrates, reason cannot pierce a person so armoured.
@Oscar Bastidas That's my secret, Cap, I'm always angry. I mean, I can't hold down a job because of it and my family left me and as one of many, many other angry people society is divided and torn apart and full of hate and fear. But it makes me 'strong' so that's okay.
Its funny because this video itself is brainwashing propoganda. Her father was never brainwashed. He simply changed his views. This is the problem with liberals. To them if you have different views theres something wrong with you.
I’m glad she spoke out about this because she’s not alone. My father ended up the same way, the difference was he always was racist and narcissistic but never at a vocal level. @Jonah Pentecost I’m pretty sure the “right” does have valid points, it’s just that some of them, not all, seem to tend to believe in things more emotionally, use weak logic, and exaggerate valid points, (well some of the “left” is the same tho, people in general actually). I think that’s why OP thinks that, they probably do have valid (and invalid) arguments or reasons to be angry like some of the left, but perhaps since some of them are really hateful and highlighted throughout everywhere in almost all forms of media, they end up giving off the impression and association that everyone in the right are angry for no real reason to the left. Which is also probably the same impression some of the left gives to some of the right as some of the left can be repulsive, and respond aggressively back. Which I think kinda ends up as a vicious cycle, no one learns from each other and everyone stays the same in the end.
@Jonah Pentecost I can elaborate. Right wing politics are faith based. That is why its known as the religious right. @@gonzacollao I was trying to come up with a comment that conveyed the same message as yours. I was visiting a friends father in a retirement home. The TV in the main hall was "broken." One "bully" had convinced everyone that the "antenna" could only get Fox News. Only he "knew" how to operate the remote control. So, all the residents who were lonely and would all hang out in the main hall were subjected to Fox News, all day. When my friends Dad asked me if I could "fix" the TV antenna? (There was no antenna. They were on cable, they got dozens of channels) I said sure. When I looked at the TV, I discovered that this "bully" had made it that only Fox News would "work." I ran to the store and bought 10 inexpensive universal remote controls and programmed them all to operate the TV. After I "fixed" this TV, I showed several residents how to work the remote controls and how to add channels to favorites. I printed a list with all the channel numbers and what Network was on them. They were overjoyed. They could watch all the News Channels, along with their network and specialty channels. Needless to say, this man who had "fixed" this TV wasn't happy with my "repair." Now, it would have been easy to treat this man poorly. I sat down with him and asked him why he felt so strongly about Fox News. His answers didn't seem to make much sense. Now, he still had his wits about him. His mind was pretty sharp. When his answers turned to: "I don't know," I asked him this simple question: "If you thought you knew, what would your answer be?" His response brought me to tears. He was painfully lonely. His wife had passed, his kids and grandkids lived 4 hours away. He saw them 3 or 4 times a year. In his anger, he'd pushed them away. He'd pushed everyone away. All he had left was anger. He couldn't direct it at his wife or family. In watching Fox News, he'd found someone else to direct his anger at. He got mad at immigrants, he got mad at Liberals, anyone that Fox News told him he should be mad at. Now, I don't know how this man made out after I left. I just know that the other residents were happy they could watch a variety of TV.

It’s terrifying how controlling media can control someone’s demeanor like that
I have a family member like this :( no one can even talk to him. He just yells at us when we try. He’s afraid to leave the house because of the communists who are apparently going to kill us all any day now. He drinks chlorine dioxide and thinks it cures all known illnesses. Yes and then there are the 99 % other stories of people getting more and more extreme 😱
Thank you for sharing your story
Keep in mind left wing media can do the same, it’s best to collect accurate information and make your mind up

"Bloviate" is such a great word. It means to talk at length, especially in an inflated or empty way.
That’s the exact same thing I said while watching this. Didn’t even know that word existed.
I'm adding this word to my vocabulary. My clue word will be "bloated", since bloviate means to speak in an inflated way. Combine the two, and it's bloatiate. 😆

This my experience with my mom. She has always been an angry person and in fact game from a long line of angry relatives. My father eventually left and I was on my own.

Jonah Pentecost yup. Same people wearing different colored shirts. Tribal idiots who think they’re nuanced.
@Jonah Pentecost the difference being the left have legitimate reasons to be angry
I have alot of ideas, but my head is kind of a mess I don't know which ones to share. The left is as dumb as the right, but the left primarily listens to scientists and economists... whereas the right listens to fat white history majors on fox news.

People claim kids are easily influenced but it seems older people are as well. It's really sad how people lose the ability to form their own opinions on things and to fight opinions they would have previously argued against.
Older people cling to a world that doesn't exist anymore, they feel irrelevant, they are not willing to change with the times and so they angrily force the world to stay the way it was and that's something that will never happen. He who refuses to change with the world is condemned to live in a world that no longer exists.
It's kind of disturbing in a way that propaganda prey on the old and young.
Don't throw stones in a glasshouse.
I really hope you don't watch CNN, the worst offender of western propaganda since 2012
(CNN was really good before that)
yeah the left are hard wired into their state of mind.they cannot think that there maybe a different opinion about something.
This almost happened to me, when I was a teen I listened to rush, it made me selfish and mean.
my step dad saw this and switched my radio to progressive radio and NPR and said to never listen to him again. I'm glad he did.
HungryCatGaming yeah, choose positivity>hate
I used to be annoyed that my dad would put NPR in the car as a child but now I’m so happy he does. It has great content. Growing up it was considered balanced news (and at most center left). Now the right has sadly branded it as far left and fake news.
Good dad.

Obama is a great guy. This is someone
Mr. Trump wishes he could be but will never come close to.
Same thing happened to my uncle. He then worked on indoctrinating my mother. Since she was uneducated and looked up to him, it was easy.
Stop lying.

This could have been written by me and my old white male relatives. Sadly, mine are still lost in their anger and fear.

Or maybe you’re the one fillled with hate? Accept people have different opinions and you can’t force anyone to think the same as you. Agree to disagree. You people think you can just shut people up because you don’t like what you’re hearing. Sorry but this is America not the Middle East.
Hope Evans same...
Not saying everyone isn't disenfranchised at some point, but the American system was initially created to benefit white folk and yet, they're the angriest group. Like whaaat?. . .
Justo FNG Maybe you people are changing the definitions of anger and fear.
Isnt it odd how the majority of the scientific community leans more towards the liberal side of things? And the older majority white males and their followers lean towards to conservative side of things? Seems like correlation may just imply causation in this case.
And it not because they are driven by politics, it's science thats recognized internationally
Reality is liberal
I just think that the biggest problem in politics at the moment (I'm from France and I feel that this is true for my country as well) is that we give the spot light to extremist (right and left) that makes it very difficult to have a reasonable discussion on tv.
@@labranehit7687 I very much agree, being belgian, that the loudest voice on social media comes from the people that do not filter nor fact check it from various part of the spectra. It's pitiful.
Same here in Australia, where Fox's owner, the repugnant Rupert Murdoch, hails from. We have to endure his agendered Sky News & rag newspapers here.
This is my life. I’ve told my parents I won’t discuss politics with them unless they watch something other than FOX news. It’s horrible 😢
They probably think less of you for having the exact opinions global corporations brainwashed into you.
@@timothyarnold1679 Tim you are cattle! fox news is the propaganda made by billionaires to redirect the anger of the working class and to get you to act against your own self interest. Fox news viewers are barely sentient cattle

This was almost the route my Canadian parents took after buying a winter home in FL a few years ago.... inundated with too much Fox News, but I brought them back, spamming their inboxes with less biased news articles and discussing current issues with them as much as possible. It took a few years, but it worked.
Good luck in the fight against hateful propaganda
What about FOX is bias and hateful, and what exactly constitutes non-bias news? I find it amazing that nobody even mentioned the words bias or hateful prior to FOX appearing on the media spectrum. Or are you the one being bias towards FOX in general? Btw, how is it propaganda if it's a fact? This just substantiates the argument that MSM is left-wing dominated and can't stand the fact that they no longer have the monopoly on public opinion they once relished. This entire video is part of a larger smear campaign perpetuated by an obviously left-wing media outlet who hates the idea that FOX exists and it makes them feel threatened. Otherwise, why post it to begin with? Hmmm.

@@davidarango4679 Fox news lies a lot, much of what they say can be disproved and they never criticize Trump but hate Obama. It's for old white boomers and edgy 14 year olds. A lot of them arent even conservative on fox news they just use conservative views to attract brainwashed people
