Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen appeared before the House Homeland Security Committee to discuss the President Trump administration immigration policy on immigrant children, family separation, and detaining children. Congresswoman Rep Nanette Barragan grilled Nielsen on asylym seekers being turned away at the border, even showing video proof to bust Nielsen's lies. Other congresspeople brought up border security, the zero tolerance policy, illegal immigration, migrant children and more. Immigration reform is top of mind for both Congress and the White House, but their approaches to border patrol, ICE, and DHS couldn't be more different.

Children are not seeking asylum. Parents are using their children to try to leverage entry into the USA and they are effectively using you and people like you to this end. The alternative to not having children detained at the border with their parents is turning them away or taking them away from their parents. Keeping them with their parents is a situation their parents has forced onto everyone because they will not legally enter the country. People with your mentality and low intellect are cancer.

What? She clearly stated what order and directives the border agents follow. Now, that being said she can’t be at every border checkpoint 24/7 watching if every agent applies the directives correctly. Of courses some agents won’t follow everything’s down to the tee, they are human after all. So, yes she was unaware that at ONE check point they didn’t follow the rules before being shown the video. Immediate action should be taking against the people concern and procedures to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

@@EA-mx6rq So that makes it okay? We are not robots, we get to choose. She chose to either break the law or isn't doing her job well enough to ensure that her subordinates are following the law. Either she gets arrested for breaking the law or she is removed from her position for allowing widespread illegal activity under her watch.
What? She clearly stated what order and directives the border agents follow. Now, that being said she can’t be at every border checkpoint 24/7 watching if every agent applies the directives correctly. Of courses some agents won’t follow everything’s down to the tee, they are human after all. So, yes she was unaware that at ONE check point they didn’t follow the rules before being shown the video. Immediate action should be taking against the people concern and procedures to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
@@enricomahoney6617 I'd agree if this incident was an outlier, a rare situation but from the video, I'm getting the inference that this is happening all over and that this is the S.O.P. and not the actions of a couple of agents in one checkpoint. But for argument's sake let's say it is what you said, then her response should have been along the lines of, "I'm appalled that this happened, this is not what we ordered our agents to do, we will investigate and if we find out that they have been breaking the law we will take the necessary steps. I will make sure that all checkpoints understand the law and make sure asylum seekers are processed correctly under our laws etc etc" or something to that effect. She didn't though, she didn't answer the question posed to her directly and didn't say that her agents did anything wrong or what they did countered current policy.
