I guess two reasons why Cosby did Ghost Dad: 1. Playing a ghost and he thought there where some funny material in it (and it wasn't!). 2. The chance to work with Sidney Poitier, who was one of the few black actors who made it big in the 50's and the 60's (known for movies such as Guess Who's Coming to Dinner & In The Heat of the Night). Poitier became a director also and he directed Ghost Dad among others, ironically that movie was his last movie as a director! Poitier actually did one good comedy called Stir Crazy, with Richard Pryor & Gene Wilder, that one is so much better than Ghost Dad!
Idea to remake this movie. Follow the first part: workaholic father, don't kill off the spouse character, keep the three kids. Kill off the father character in a car-accident and bring him back as a ghost. Here's the twist, he cannot be seen by the living AT ALL. He phases through and cannot interact with objects and he cannot speak to the living, either. His speech is either heavily muffled and distorted in the afterlife. The father-character goes to his family and sees how his death is effecting them all, but cannot interact with them in any meaningful way.
If you guys are wondering why he is phrasing bill Cosby in the opening, its cause this came out before the truth about what Bill Cosby came out. I know the videos 3 years old but i figure this is important info to have.

I would like to see him analyze his own content. Screaming and making the stupidest faces because that somehow makes it more funny. What he has to say about these movies is great but everything else makes me want to slowly melt my own face off while pouring salt on it.
You can tell this was before the stuff became well known about Cosby.

Why do so many bad kids movie and bad movies have inconsistent rules that make the film needlessly complicated?

Crazy enough this was written by the guys that would also write TREMORS (one of my favorite horror comedies) and Will Smith's WILD WILD WEST.
Tremors is good but if it it one of your greatest horror comedies you haven't seen many.
