Who woulda thunk rene Dupree would be one of my favorite wrestlers in 2022. London rocks. His match against Danielson in roh at night of the butcher changed the way I watched wrestling. Got a chance to smoke a blunt w him a few years ago.
I was a big Rene fan back in his WWE days … but he’s killing it with this podcast - they just don’t give a fuck and that’s what I’m liking about it … you can tell A LOT of the other guys on certain pods hold back … these dudes know dirt and tell it! Hopefully that doesnt change the more popular this podcast gets
I love that Paul is so open and honest saying he has respect for JBL knowing the bad history between JBL and Rene. He's honest, he doesn't just say what he thinks people want to hear
Def my favorite wrestling podcast right now, Rene …. This podcast is going to get considerably more popular- PLEASE DONT start holding back - that’s what’s great about it - you guys know the dirt and aren’t afraid to tell it/hold back , like a lot of the other ones …. Keep killing it!
@@Casual__blackout I heard that - I don’t expect them to tell everything, I’d assume they still have people they like and don’t wanna throw shade - but they’ve gone further then a lot of shit on any Conrad pod
As someone who grew up on this mid 2000s era of wrestling this show is the best thing I’ve ever listened to !! Thank you Rene and thank you Paul ! Your honesty and integrity is appreciated
Rene you’ve been killing it lately. Really a fan of the interviews/guests. Just started watching wrestling within the past 3 years obsessively and you broach subjects in different ways than the par-for-the-course interviews. Also Paul London is a fantastic guest, cheers!
Brilliant episode lads, loving the growth and content of the show. Paul is a great get for the pod. Any chance Ken Anderson could be a special guest ? Would be some interesting topics of conversation.
Thank you for doing this interview with Paul London. He was one of my favorite wrestlers, when I was growing up. :) I remember his amazing tag team run on Smackdown with Brian Kendrick.
Johnny's singles match with Misawa is actually really good. I guess you could say Misawa could wrestle a broomstick but yeah I've watched that match back several times and it's great.
I already loved this podcast but London is a great addition. London and Rene always keep it real, and James has such a friendly vibe and gets on well with these boys. Excited to listen to more episodes
Scott Steiner once said in an interview "you play the game for a little bit and then you say come on, this stuff is ridiculous". Some guys just don't have that self-awareness but that gets them ahead backstage.
Laurinaitis always struck me as someone with a substantial inferiority complex; he could never escape Animal's shadow, so when he was finally able to skeeze his way into a position of power he did everything he could to consolidate his position, exploit it, and secure a legacy for himself that would stand independently of his brother's. He really is the human equivalent of a remora clinging to a bigger fish.
I don't think he was in Animal's Shadow as much as he just wasn't really all that talented in the ring, before 2005, did anybody really know that he was animals brother? But in any event, Shane Douglas was the breakout star of the dynamic dudes, after that tag team ended, John laurinaitis' in ring career was pretty much over
@@brickcitybikeman3108 I despise JL. That said, he did have a good career in Japan and was pretty over. Although his push was because Giant Baba’s wife had a crush on him.
Another great episode of the Cafe, one that solidifies my opinion that this is the best lineup with Rene and Paul actually sharing new stories/information and not giving a fk about who it offends while James is behind the glass making it all happen. Hope to see more of this fellas! As for a team name 'La Hooligans' seems pretty suitable ;)
Paul London has always had the best wrestling shoot interviews in the biz. Rene and Paul play well off of one another! Looking forward to future episodes
The best Johnny Ace Story is when he signed the wrong one legged Wrestler, there where 2 of them in the World at the time. Its a 50/50 Chance to F..... this up on purpose
If Johnny Ace wasn't like this, I wouldn't get these funny stories, and impersonations that Paul and Renee do. If Paul becomes reoccurring or permanent, I'd like that 👀
Remember when Booker T "accidentally" broke London AND Dupree's noses in back to back weeks? That was super professional. Love Paul & Rene, keep it up!
22:15 London is right about gaslighting from employers, and not just in wrestling. Plenty of manipulative bosses in civilian life will try alternately to intimidate and then lovebomb you as a way to disorient your thinking and prevent you from demanding fair treatment.
Kenny Omega also has a great Johnny impression. "One of you may go on to Raw or Smackdown, make a million dollars, who knows? But I gotta pick one guy!"
What’s genuinely amazing about Johnny Ace is how you hear so much about how great at the corporate game he always was. Which he clearly was good at for the most part. But for a corporate mover it’s fascinating to consider that he loses his job in 2012 for dipping his pen in the company ink, keeps a lesser role for years, and then when he finally gets the position back again he basically immediately does the same thing again with this paralegal to lose his job again. For a guy who did all he could to jockey for power it’s amazing he lost it twice because of something really dumb.
And here we are, a year later, and this stuff is spilling out! You guys need to get this episode into the hands of the Feds who are investigating old Vince!
Great trio. My favourite podcast. It is on its way up to the top 5 on the net. “ The Sky is the limit when you talk truth , more great opinions with a few inside scoops “ !
51:00 London's story about being reprimanded after he was falsely accused of leaking out the news of Ashley's Playboy shoot is confusing to me. He says it happened the morning Vince got blown up in the limo, but the limo angle aired on June 12th and Ashley's Playboy was released months earlier (remember, they usually put it out around Wrestlemania). He must have mixed up two different stories, it was 15 years ago after all.
6:30- I got really into classic All Japan when I was living in Japan in the early 2000s. Always wondered WHY Johnny Ace was featured so prominently in tag matches. This explains a lot. Thanks Rene, would love to hear more stories about Japanese wrestling.
The story at 36:10 is an example of why the old boys club of wrestling has to be destroyed. They have been in this industry for too long and helped to destroy so many careers. Its refreshing to see a wrestling podcast where the participants don’t care about getting a job and tell it like it is.
Rene, I'd like an episode on the use of thc products in wrestling, and how cbd and/or thc has helped your healing from injuries. And how has it helped you fight the urge to use? I could use some advice!
This was great! I've watched Paul in little shithole shows from inside cotton gins to the dirtiest of dive bars in Texas. For anyone to say he isn't passionate about the business is completely insane.
Another note unrelated to the video: it’s fun listening to Paul talk. I first started watching WWE in early 2003 when I was 9 years old and since we didn’t have cable I watched smackdown because it was on in some form of syndication at the time. London and Kidman during their tag team run was one of the first storylines I was really invested in as a fan. I loved them as a tag team and then when Kidman turned on Paul I was pissed. I also became a big fan of London and Kendrick as a team and especially hated MNM. So listening to him speak at length almost 20 years later is fun and kinda brings me back to my childhood in a way remembering a time when I really loved watching pro wrestling. Kinda stinks that I haven’t enjoyed the product anywhere near that level for a lot of years since.
Since you guys had Alex Hammerstone on, give MLW a try once in a while. Much better than both of the big two companies right now. Episodes are fairly short as well, much easier to watch an hour or less episode than 2-3 hour shows. Keep up the great stuff guys, really been enjoying this!
@@cafederene Indeed, it was a solid match. I would love to see them react to Jacob Fatu, I believe he's better than Roman and you can quote me on that.
Great to see Paul on the podcast again, i didn't know he was coming back so soon after the last two parts he did with you guys a month ago but to hear him & Rene starting up a new show is awesome!.. Always enjoy listening to Paul, real good dude!
Gotta love the John laurenitis impressions, you guys should check out the “John laurenitis drive thru prank” by fizzy pops. Funny as fuck too. Glad to see Paul London as an occasional regular guest on this show.
For years I've thought that it was weird that Johnny married the mother of the Bella Twins, because I've always thought they slept with him to get the job in the first place.
Can't wait to listen to this, Paul is always a real one.
London should join the podcast permanently! So entertaining
Stay tuned
7 months later and the podcast continues to stay strong with Paul London.
Paul London is cool Dude, as is Renee and James.
“I See London, I See France” I know it’s a terrible name, but it came to my head and I can’t stop thinking about it
You can’t stop thinking about it because it’s the perfect name haha
I've heard worse. (Biscuits and gravy)

Yea this is the go to podcast! They have the most diversified wrestlers on n Paul London is a star guest quite often. Great memories!
How you know the WWE system is broken. I always thought Paul was a guy who could work but not talk. Dudes entertaining as hell!!! Love the show fellas
Amy Weber is a name I haven't heard in a minute. And RIP Ashley, they did her dirty in my opinion.
