Those little kitties are rests for butter knives! The dachshunds are the most common ones, so in Sweden we basically call all of these butter knife rests "butter dachshunds", no matter if they are dachshunds or not! ^_^
So happy you are having a wonderful time in London. It's my birth place so I am biased but I do love it so. That vase you picked up was made in Rye, East Sussex, where I live now. They are collectable pieces, and live in the Iden Pottery house where a lot of the pottery was made, its no longer in business but I often find pieces of Iden Pottery in antique and charity shops which I always snap up. I just recently discovered a whole lineage of ancestry from the U.K., English, Irish and Scottish. Deighton is named after my family, which I’ve traced back to my 22nd G grandfather in the 1200’s. I loved my visit to London many years ago when my mother-in-law treated me and my sister-in-law to a week in London. Best trip ever! I remember visiting Westminster and thinking that I was walking on the actual ancient stones that Kings and Queens stepped on. The Tower of London was like that too and the rooms were so small in relative to what I imagined. Also, the place where beheadings took place was just a small wood block in front of the Queen's residences at the Tower and not this big scaffolding like depicted in movies. You'll love Windsor castle and the town of Windsor. I loved the cobblestone alleyways and the gargoyles you see on buildings all over London. I hope your visiting Germany,(which is where I was born )and visit the Black Forest. Heidelberg is beautiful and you'd love the Castle.
Oh Laura Girlie🤗how wonderful for you to experience this trip together, I’ve noticed that most of my favorite vloggers are very family oriented , you are a wonderful Auntie, my daughter was Nanny to our grandsons and as she traveled and lived overseas for six years, she always sent them packages, notes, postcards and FaceTimed to stay connected to them throughout, they are still too young to travel but that is a plan for someday to do this with her, thankful she’s back here in the states as of now so we all look forward to that someday, be safe and enjoy it all🙋🏻♀️💕💕💕💕💕
I have always wanted to mudlark on the foreshore of the River Thames. The thought of possibly finding remnants of Roman pottery or a Roman coin, an old clay pipe or a piece of victorian jewelry intrigues me. If I were ever to visit London, I'd be down in the mud every day!!

OMG Laura, I waited until I was uninterrupted to watch this! I lived in London for 25 years until 3 years ago and seeing it through a visitors eyes makes me miss it sooo much! As you love cheese and wine, If you get chance, try and visit Gordon’s wine bar on Villers street near Charing Cross tube for cheese and wine, it gets very busy so early is good. Can’t wait to see more of your trip.

First, I'm going to say that your husband is so handsome! That's the first time I've seen him. I am so in love with the UK and it's my dream to go there. So much rich history that we just don't have here. I'm hoping you will take a relaxing couple of days on a narrowboat on the canals. They only go 4 m.p.h.! You could all sleep aboard one and I guarantee you'll love the bridges and locks from the waterways. It's a whole other world. I had no idea there would be so much in the way of flea markets! What a treat! You ladies after West Minster Abby were so touched that I almost wanted to cry! Such a fantastic first 2 days! Thank you sooooo much!

Not sure if you have left the UK but if you’re still there I strongly recommend visiting a tiny village about 40 min drive from London, TURVILLE in the Hambleden Valley, nr Henley on Thames. So many films and tv series were/are filmed there and you will really see what people in the UK spend time going to visit. It’s just breathtaking and so much history.. Enjoy your travels xx

Many were "undesirable criminals" with the choice to be sent away or executed. There were a ton of natural resources England doesn't have. There was a war with the US and Canada to 'claim' the land from the Indigenous population.
@@francesh3423 I know all that, and we should have just come and let all the indigenous people keep all their land, and welcomed them to go where they pleased in hopes of the reciprocation of the same. Unfortunately, there are always criminals. Instead of sending them away, they should be executed in my opinion. Not a popular stance, but no one will convince me otherwise, so please don't try.

At Westminster Abbey, I don't know if you saw the tomb of the Unknown Warrior, the inscription always makes me cry and I'm English. Every Royal bride since the Queen Mother (the mother of our present Queen Elizabeth) lays their wedding bouquet at the tomb.

Hi Laura. Love your thriffting tour of London. The flea markets you went to I didn't even know they exsitted and I live in London. Thankyou for teaching me something new . I do agree with you about the escalators on the tube but I find going up is easier than going down at least when going up you don't see the long drop behind you.
I was thrifting on the Oregon Coast last weekend and in an antique mall found 2 of the penguin ice buckets. Then the next day in another store in another town spotted a row of 3. Made me think of you.

Hi Laura I am new to your channel and I am from the uk in Hampshire. My husband is from Greenwich and I am totally the same I hate the underground!!! I found it was just as cheap to get a taxi. I am so envious of your stamina to do all the sight seeing it is exhausting. Love the way you say Quid!!! I have done the Buckingham Palace tour before our Queen passed and it is quite fascinating.

If you get the chance, jump on the Clipper (like a water bus) to Greenwich and go to the markets there. There are vintage markets at the weekend, and the Green Cafe is the best for brunch! It’s also a beautiful part of London. Very different to central parts.

I'm not sure I understand why our ancestors left England to start their own country. They should have just said, we're going to go over here and claim this land for England... I just love England! The people are so lovely.

Many were "undesirable criminals" with the choice to be sent away or executed. There were a ton of natural resources England doesn't have. There was a war with the US and Canada to 'claim' the land from the Indigenous population.
@@francesh3423 I know all that, and we should have just come and let all the indigenous people keep all their land, and welcomed them to go where they pleased in hopes of the reciprocation of the same. Unfortunately, there are always criminals. Instead of sending them away, they should be executed in my opinion. Not a popular stance, but no one will convince me otherwise, so please don't try.

At Westminster Abbey, I don't know if you saw the tomb of the Unknown Warrior, the inscription always makes me cry and I'm English. Every Royal bride since the Queen Mother (the mother of our present Queen Elizabeth) lays their wedding bouquet at the tomb.

Hi Laura. Love your thriffting tour of London. The flea markets you went to I didn't even know they exsitted and I live in London. Thankyou for teaching me something new . I do agree with you about the escalators on the tube but I find going up is easier than going down at least when going up you don't see the long drop behind you.
I was thrifting on the Oregon Coast last weekend and in an antique mall found 2 of the penguin ice buckets. Then the next day in another store in another town spotted a row of 3. Made me think of you.

had to laugh at the escalator story . when i was in primary school we had a trip to london ( i grew up in england obs lol ) and my favourite part out of all the wonders was the huge escalators :) xx

Thanks for sharing, what an awesome vlog, one of the best I have seen from London. I bet it was hard to leave some of that stuff behind at the flea markets.
If you get the chance, jump on the Clipper (like a water bus) to Greenwich and go to the markets there. There are vintage markets at the weekend, and the Green Cafe is the best for brunch! It’s also a beautiful part of London. Very different to central parts.
