These reviews are just so beautifully shot.
David. Can you do all of the reviews? Your descriptions of the devices along with how clear your voice is make you my go to for reviews.
I love the Verge's filmography techniques. Short and simple reviews are cool too.
good quality video and great cinematography for a tech review video. Thanks Verge.
The tablet "topple" at 3:48 was cool. Awesome video!
I love these Verge reviews and I can't help but watch them, even if i don't intend to buy the reviewed item.
who else flinched when the tablets fell over?
Oh, it's been so long since I've seen it. I don't remember those scenes. Sounds like I should watch it again!
Good review, is there any chance of reviewing the nexus 7 with LTE just wondering and keep up the good work verge
Excellent video! Thank you! :D
nice review!
Cool review.
What about it's rear camera ?
I'm using the old Nexus 7 right now and I haven't really experienced the slow down he is talking about. I'll definitely be getting the new Nexus 7 tho. Btw great review, I have now subscribed.
Great video, I'm getting one.
Where can i get that wallpaper on that iPad mini??
When is this going on sale in the UK?
should i get the new 2013 nexus 7 or galaxy tab 3 8.0? i really need help and quick responses will be much appreciated
What's the clock widget you're using on the top of the main home screen? I just got mine and I like the look of that widget much better than the one that comes pre-installed.
A really positive verge review of an android tablet? Goddamn. This thing must be awesome.
Can someone please tell me where to the diamond-like wallpaper on the iPad mini. Thanks
What wallpaper was that for the ipad mini in 3:49
3:48 what kind of library was that down the bottom in the middle
Thinkin about picking this up
i want that wallpaper for the Mini!
I was seriously blown away when I went from my hvga 3.2 inch smartphone to my HD 7 inch tablet screen.....
Can't wait to get a hands on ! :D
How did you get the tablets to fall over at the end? You blow on them?
which app is that P icon on the left of the doc?
Do u have any replacement offer OLD NEXUS 7 vs NEW NEXUS 7 as considering your old existing customer? I am crazy to use Google Nexus 7 but with update version if you place offer buyback/ update?
The 2012 nexus 7 did get a significant speed boost with android 4.3. Courtesy of fsttrim function..
I got the old nexus 7 as a christmas present and the next christmas im gonna get this one!
;)
i like the reviewing background
I never thought I would see the day when the verge says android has such a good selection of tablet apps. it's a miracle .
where did u get this info?
What Brian Cox show is that? Do you know?
Does this one have the notification light? No one has made any mention of it.
I want this for Christmas
*amzn.to/1mu4BZp** ONLY 144$*

thats old and i dont like buying stuff not from amazon (damages, return policy)
I'm a big fan of the previous gen Nexus 7 and I'd love to play around with it's new brother!
My OG nexus 7 is running strong since last Oct. Any lag i had seems to have been bested bu updating to 4.3. Perhaps due to trim support.
I'd of liked to have heard about the wireless charging. How much are the mat charger thingies, how long does it take to charge etc. Anyone got any juicy details?
What clock widget is that at around 0:14?
New Nexus 7 just got shipped should have it today.
What Brian Cox show is that?
What movie watching App was that?
A year later, and this is still considered one of the best small tablets on the market, with many tech journalists even choosing it over the much more expensive Retina iPad Mini.
I'm not sure what the reviewer here was worried about in terms of it not holding up over time.
The bezels have a screen, right?
is the camera better than the iPad mini
I have the old Nexus 7, i should buy the new one or not?
I love the shot at 3:47
does nexus 7 have hdmi or mhl someone please answer
Have they solved the super easily breakable screen problem? I have the old Nexus 7 and the screen broke from just being inside a bag, not bumped or dropped or anything. That happened after just one month, too.
I totally agree with you, man, that is so true!!
My nexus 7 is still working perfectly just installed android 4.3 yesterday and it even faster now and the battery life has improved I don't think I'm ready to upgrade quite yet. :-)
How do you guys not have 1 mil subscribers?
I got a Nexus 7 ad before watching the video
well is this the best tablet out there? other then the ipads since i dont want to pay extra just for the ios and apple name, and i already have an ipod touch
I know the screen is disgusting low PPI, but where on earth did you pull lag out from?
Love the review, that's why I & read the Verge
I still have my original n7 and runs just as good when i bought it last year, and i do use it everyday, still im going to upgrade to this new nexus 7!
i love how they used a kindle to prop the ipad and the nexus up
This is just a question, hearing from other tech TH-cam channels but how did you "REVIEW" a device that just receive? You must of had for at most 1 or 2 days. How long did was your review process?
Holy crap, it looks fantastic.
david pierce makes the best reviews
Hey! Wonders of the Universe is in the beginning!
All the reasons you listed for wanting a tablet, are precisely what I would use it for. So for the price point, this is perfect.
Can't wait. 10 more days left to get the new Nexus 7
Well, Android 4.3 has solved some of the lag issues I had with the Nexus 7 (2012)
best intro i have ever seen !
Totally worth the additional money
should i buy this?
IPad Mini has a ridiculously low ppi so already the old Nexus 7 kills it with it's display, which is why I got the Nexus 7 originally instead of the iPad Mini. I could read and play stuff on the iPad Mini for two seconds, on the Nexus 7 my friend couldn't even tell the ppi apart from my iPad 4's screen.
Why would you compare it to the ipad mini display? Wasn't the old nexus 7's screen better than the ipad mini?
I thought the OTA was already come up yesterday!
My 2012 Nexus 7 got a seriously needed reboost with android 4.3. And my cousin's iPad 4 recently got the update to iOS 7. For the first time, I saw an android device experience less stutter than an iOS device.....
I love that the two devices were being propped up by a Kindle. Reminds me that even the best quality reviews are held together by sticky tape behind the scenes. Awesome as always.
I completely agree with the reviewer when I first got the Nexus 7 in November of 2012 I only had 7 hours of battery life now on android 4.2.2 I can barely ridge 5 hours battery life
He's actually right. The original nexus 7 was speedy at first, and then would get slower, and slower, and slower until it became extremely unresponsive. It had to do with how the nexus 7 handled internal storage. You're right too though. Devices do grow slower over time, regardless of build quality, or brand, or the amount of storage it has, but the nexus 7 had a specific issue that slowed it down.
new iPad mini (2014) or this?
3:26 what video is it.. anyone?
Does the old iPad-mini has to be mentioned on this review? Is it a MUST? can't they find another Android tablet to compare it with???
0:05 What do you mean by best? Best selling? Best performance?
I love my Nexus 7!
The Android tablet app ecosystem definitely improved a lot compared to last year. The New Nexus 7 will pave the way for more tablet optimized apps. The future is bright.
Look at me, I brought the old nexus 7 6 months after it was launched and I plan to keep it for 2 years or more. Of Course, I can always pass it on to my younger brother who is apparently not as much technical as I am.
Omg, i wanna it for christmas. *.*
why can't I update android 4.3 on my nexus 4.
Nice Comparison!
I had a mini-heart attack when those 3 tablets fell xD
As much as I disliked the ratio of the bezels, when I began to watch alot of movies in landscape mode, those bezels became my best friend.
he was saying that when he said the benchmarks were similar to last years model that the benchmarks don't mean it's bad
The whole world population needs a Nexus 7
You realize that, in landscape orientation, you need some space to actually hold the device, right?
Ipod 5th gen or this...? someone help please :I
In best buy where I live it has the new nexus 7
I don't know how you do it bro, but you get the top comment on nearly every tech video I watch. You must have a lot of fans or something!
it does have the highest ppi of all tablets as well
According to PC World and Curry's, it will be available from the 13th September, for £199 and £239 for the 16 and 32GB models.
Haha great sense of humor
I mean the James Bond one
Hey people, I'm asking around to see what people prefer. The nexus 7 2nd generation, or the Microsoft surface 2. I'm planning on getting one of the 2 in the future and can't decide. Let me know.
Sam Nyholm I did do the Nexus 7. I really don't mind the performance issue for the pro everyone is complaining about, I'm still using a core 2 duo for my main machine. Soon to hopefully be a core i3 macbook pro. But I did get a nexus 7 2nd gen for a mobile device. I would reccomend everyone start giving up the nexus 7 decision and start looking at the Nividia Shield K1. It appears to be a better performer than the aging Nexus 7 2nd gen.
I want nexus7 but I bought nexus 10 and 7the old also ipad 4 and ipad mini
