So precious "mommy invited me to come". Melts my heart, just as sweet as her mom.
Forget the medical ethics, where is common sense? Glad you are changing doctors and that you stood strong in Mama Bear knowledge!
I am glad for you, Rachel. I would find another pediatrician clinic to go to. That doesn't make any sense. It acts like they just really, really don't care about kids. Thank you, Brad, for helping her with her broken leg. Bless her heart.❤❤😂
That's just crazy I would make a complaint they need to be investigated
I'm so glad she got that hard cast finally. One more day and that area on her heal could easily open up and become infected. I'm a nursing assistant and I work night shift and help my nurse do dressing changes and with her fragile skin one more day would have been bad. You absolutely did the right thing by just going there first thing. I forget who you said gave the referral but thumbs up to him. And I'd definitely fire that pediatrician. What pediatrician doesn't call back the same day or have sick appointments for that day?
Good morning! How frustrating!! I don’t blame you Rachel for the frustration!!
I was wondering how this all played out. Thank goodness Brad had connections. I would hope that when the ER says go somewhere specific, they would have checked beforehand to make sure this is correct information. So glad it all worked out for Allesue. 🥰
Thank god for Brad❤
I broke my leg as an adult ( also on a Saturday) and had my leg set (without any drugs to help). And I look like I got to go see an ortho doctor Monday and get things set in motion, but I was so miserable until I got a permanent solution on. Poor sweet girl that blister on her foot, broke my heart. And as a mom, I would also be so frustrated at the situation and at the doctor, who apparently can’t care enough to get their act together to send a referral. Hope it heals quickly for her.
This is the insurance we give our military families. Most soldiers are not Brad and do not have the contacts he does. Some of these military wives are navigating this system alone while their husband is deployed in a war zone. Some of these wives are 18 years old trying to figure this out. This is disgraceful.
As a country our insurance industry is bad but this is despicable.
Well said!!
As a Canadian., ontario specifically. ..the frustration you feel with your doctor....is our system. We have to wait weeks for appointments...if we even have a doctor!! Most people use clinics or ER for health care here. I am glad you got it all sortedout!
As another Canadian I am sorry for our areas that are not serving people well. it is not everywhere though and I have good response from my GP. Just had to say that.
My child broke his leg at 2 years old and went to ER and they casted him right away. My daughter as an adult tore a tendon in her hand. Went to ER and got a referral to see specialist within a few days. That is my experience with 🇨🇦
I understand how frustrated you must have felt. It's not just that clinic. Increasingly, these are similar complaints from patients in the healthcare system. Patient burnout is a real thing and is a simmering healthcare crisis. I'm happy and relieved for you and Ally Sue that you finally got it resolved.
The ER should have discussed ‘PAC’ (Pressure Area Care) with you after they applied the initial plaster backslab & bandages, not to mention shown you how to re-apply the bandages on a busy 2yo to keep the splint in place. Our hospitals here in Australia 🇦🇺 give clear instructions and a printed handout explaining all of that. How to clean & care for the injured limb & check daily for pressure sores also. I feel so, so sorry for you Rach. Incredibly stressful. Thank goodness you’ll get through it all together now. A few more weeks 🙏🏽 (Lyndle was just gorgeous & would have been a comfort to you I’m sure 💞)
Most do in the US too, this was a poor handling, our military families unfortunately have to deal with. Insurance runs the show
Good for you for stepping up and firing their doctor. Please write a letter voicing all of your concerns. If you’re not completely dedicated to your patients, especially a pediatrician. Same day sick visits is standard care. So happy Brad was able to pull some strings with some connections and get her taken care of.
No it's not lol I can never get into my doctor the same day no matter what's going on nor my sister with her kids
If they’re on tricare prime and have to be seen on base for their PCM, that’s typically not how it works. (The only way you’re seen off base with prime is if the on base hospital is full or if you live far enough away from the base you’re stationed at.) Tricare is incredibly frustrating with getting in touch with someone when seen on base and incredibly frustrating with their referral process. You can however write in ICE complaints and try to get things rolling that way, but even that sometimes doesn’t help. Thankfully you can also request to change their PCM or switch to select once it’s open season and be seen by whoever you’d like PCM and specialities wise. The only difference is you then pay copays , with prime everything is free so for some that’s more worth it. We’ve been dealing with tricare since 2016 with kids who need to see specialists ,there’s lots of pros and cons for sure.
I live in the state of California and I belong to Kaiser Permanente West LA. And if I were to fracture my arm or ankle or any part of my body, all I have to do is go to urgent care, which is on the grounds of the facility. The medical facility that is. And walking to the emergency room and get seen within five minutes I don’t have to go through my physician or get a referral because I’m broken or fractured one of my body parts going to urgent care or to the ER and get seen right away and discussion. And I have their Kaiser Permanente Medicare senior advantage care plus with Medi-Cal combined, which they call many Medi and that’s it. I’ve never heard of this company before so I know nothing about it. But with Kaiser, I think having the ability to go into urgent care right away or to the ER without being referred to by your physician and just go in because you need to it’s emergency is so beneficial. Versus a company such as Aetna or Blue Cross or Blue Shield, which you would have to go all over the place just to be seen by somebody so I like having a convenience and being able to go to Kaiser within 1015 minutes of where I live and knowing fully well that I can walk into the emergency room and right away or if I’m just sick and not feeling good and I can’t get an appointment with my physician I can go into the ER and be seen by someone right away. But I’m glad that Brad was able to step up and pull some strings and get this taken care of so that she can be on the mend. That is what you have to go through with this company is insane.
God bless your family.
Lord you don't even know how many times this happens to me I completely empathize and that a 2 yr old with a broken foot I'm so sorry that happened to her
My Daughter's childrens pediatrician makes you start calling at 8am in the morning...first come, first serve, even when sick. Absolutely ridiculous
I 100% agree to change doctors. That is not good practice. I can't imagine anyone going to this office. Praise God all turned out good. Hugs mom for stress I've been there when it comes to my kids.
Sounds like time for a new Primary Care provider! They have to be accessible!
Go Mama!!!
💙❤️💙❤️❤️💕💕💜
Good Friday Brad & Rachel
Recently I was diagnosed with a lung infection, I was given the incorrect medications . Two weeks later my chest scan showed a nodule and it 8 weeks to get a CT scan to show the infection was still present and get the proper medication. This is a problem everywhere with waiting to get medical care in appropriate time
That’s awful, you poor thing. 😢
Welcome to the world of government insurance. I recently retired early due to disability. I have my pension insurance but also Medicare. The dental....3 months out for a toothache! I also recently moved from Jersey to North Carolina. The Healthcare down here is truly scary!!
I feell for both you parents, and little Aly Sue. And yes, a primary care doctor like a Peds or any family medicine provider should always have blocks of time in their daily schedule for sick patients. You definitely are justified in firing that practice and going to another. I’m glad Aly Sue seems far more comfortable and is in far less pain now that she has a cast. Love from Florida 💕🙏☀️🐶🤗
The health care can be such a maze
Our granddaughter broke her foot when she was 4. They took her to a children's hospital close by. They put a boot on her and she was in a lot of pain. It got really swollen and bruised and she was seen the same day. It was broken and she got a bright pink cast. Don't know why they didn't do it to begin with. The xray showed it was broken, but there was something to do with her growth plate. Her pediatrician also has werkend hours. Im sorry you went through that. When you're looking for a new one make sure and ask if you can get them in the same day if needed.❤
🤯😵💫🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I would have been so upset and frustrated and calling in all favors!! Change doctors please!! Fire them!! Thank God for Brad contacting his doctor friend!!
Go mummies bear go get em girl you look after your babies that is why we are on this earth ❤
I just started listening, but we switched primary care doctors in part because response time was horrible once they merged with a big out of state office. My current pediatrician either the nurse answers when I call or they call back within a couple of hours.
Sounds as if u have a good Dr. no! ( As far as getting in to see some one, and getting able to at least talk to a live person on phon) !
Absolutely appalling that this is what we require our service members and their families to deal with. I'm so sorry that you had to deal with all of this. All of our military families deserve better.
I totally understand and I don’t have transportation but you have to come in. In 3 to 6 months. ( no soup for you)it takes that long on an emergency. I feel your pain. But I love you. ❤❤❤❤❤
I would be so ticked off also! Poor sweet baby. At least they gave my son pain meds. Glad it all worked out. Sucks to see your babies hurting!
Praise Our Lord, Brad was able to pull through immediately, with his Amazing knowledge & connection's for your daughter ❤
I pray in Jesus Precious name, that God perfectly mend & heal her now wrongly inflicted wound & her broken bone in her little foot/leg❤
If makes you feel less stressed the uk is awful to get any treatment my son was left in a sling with his collar bone broken and told not to move has it could penetrate through the skin an sent home in pain and left like that for 9 days we were told to come in early morning we waited for hours to be told there are emergencies and to go home and come in tomorrow it was like that every day till a surgeon said we are not leaving him like this any longer prep him we are taking him to surgery and he had to have a plate put in the stress this caused him and us is beyond comprehension, hope baby girl gets seen soon ❤
How horrendous for you & your son 😢 I am so grateful to live in Australia 🇦🇺
@@london_liv5539 it’s hard isn’t it to watch your child in pain and fear ❤️🇬🇧
@@jopeskett144 It really is 🥺💞
I can't believe that any primary care doctor can't be reached in a timely manner. My kids now have kids so I don't have to deal with pediatricians but I know that I can get in touch with my own PCP (or someone in her office if she isn't there) same day via phone. If it isn't emergent then I can message her and she gets back usually same day or next. I understand needing a referral but that is crazy. When my 17 year old son broke his leg the er said he needed to see ortho on Monday and I didn't want to see the one from the hospital so called our doctor and was told to call their ortho and he got his cast on Tuesday--no referrals.
That is horrible not to be able to get the doctor to at least call. I call my family dr. I get a call back right away . I even had my dr. come to my home now that is rare here in Canada. Plus it never cost me a penny.
I have been experiencing the same thing I use to be able to get in the same week not anymore I think it's everywhere
This is a excellent example of our health care. People better wake up.
Glad that she has her Boot. Must mean she is healing.
Tri care sucks! My daughter has problems all the time(Air Force).
I've had plenty of those. I've broken my legs 26 times. Most before the age of 13.
Do u, or DID u have exceptionally brittle bones?? Because that many breaks sounds unreal!! (Not saying I don’t believe u.)
Leave a review on the clinics website or google, I had to fire a specialty doc as well, they kept rescheduling me a day before appointment, and never returned phone calls. I also witnessed a patient who first I thought was a "Karen" until I had issues myself and she was right, same thing happened to her and they threw a fit in the doc office.
ick .. jugdemental much.. 'Karen' .. ?
Stop with your following man's judgmental 'Karen' tradition.
Jesus told us 'not' to follow man's traditions, ehich one is definitely for these specific judgmental reasons.
God is our only judge.
Gee wiz, as a Grandma of 6 (12 and under) I empathize with you. It’s incredibly frustrating to know what’s wrong with your child and not get the care they need. Shame on that Dr. Good job Mom & Dad for standing up, taking charge and doing what’s right for your sweet baby girl. 💞💞💞
Blows my mind that there are clinics out there like this. How are clinics in business that don't have same day sick visits. The majority of reasons why someone is taking their child into a doctor is because they are sick. Oh my lord this infuriates my blood. Glad you're switching to a different clinic.
Tricare is a pain in the but! My daughter had to drive two hours round trip to see a mental health professional.
There are a few problems with our NHS waiting lists but that little girl would have been treated properly within hours at our A&E.
In fairness to the ER, they did apply a backslab plaster cast & bandages (a splint). They can’t put a full cast on straight away because of bruising & swelling. The pain from the restriction of that would be excruciating. It’s the follow-up care that was appalling in Ally-Sue’s case. No referral, no care factor from Primary Care Physician or Paediatrician or ANY staff member from their office either. Very distressing for Rach 😢
Oh my goodness I’m surprised you didn’t fire your pediatrician before now! That’s terrible! I know it’s been a few weeks ago for her cast I hope she’s healing well. My heart went out to you and of Allie Sue! On another note, Lyndle so sweetly said mommy invited me. Awe, what a sweetheart!
Poor Ally Sue and I saw the way she was walking with the foot thing on her and she is awesome but that is just not good enough you couldn't get anyone to refer her to that clinic, thank God Brad was able to get somebody to refer her, hope she is doing a lot better
Tricare has notoriously been a very poor insurance carrier. I worked in Cardiology for over 20 years, and it is the name you don't say, like Voldemort.
We have Tricare and I worked in a Dr’s office for 20 years and Tricare has always been superior to most! But Rachel and all who follow her you have to follow the rules of the system unless it is truly an emergency! This was not. The emergency was in the ER!!! Ally sue was stable.
@@rwilliamsmith1963 may b not emergency to you but to the little one it sure would be and to her mum as she would of been a lot of pain
@@rwilliamsmith1963Yes,with Tricare, you absolutely must know and follow the rules. My Medicare Advantage is the same way.
We have a broken healthcare system where you pretty much need connections to be seen! Pretty pathetic
Ma'am you need to get a new Pediatrician!!!
Unexceptable, I would be done too‼️all this referral B.S. TAKE CARE OF THE BABY❗️ MY GOSH‼️
its like that at dr offices all the time now.
I hope you find a much better system and doctor to deal with. What you are describing from the original office is totally unacceptable.
Welcome to Florida and the health care systems
Oh great for them!! Because, even when Brad switch’s gears for his new training, in around 6 months, they will be having to move to the area where he will train. And that area is in Florida!! Here’s hope they find a much better ped. Dr., whose on their ins. by then!!
Did they ever call back and ask if she was taken care of?
Never called. The referral came through 2 days later. I only knew that because I checked the portal. 🤯
This is the same in ohio wait for 3months, know how you feel.
Horrible way to treat children! Hope everything goes better.
They expect you to go to the ER?? 😢🤯
Omg
Rachel and Brad… besides firing your pediatrician, I would call Tricare and voice your complaints about this provider with them. This is the time of year that payers are renewing contracts with providers, as you are likely aware being providers yourselves. If Tricare has enough complaints with this provider/clinic, they won’t renew their contract with them.
Sounds good to me!!
This is ridiculous 😡
Why did you move to Florida
They will move to Florida in the spring for about 6 months. Then, they'll receive orders from the Navy where to go next.
My suggestion is reporting the pediatrician office to the state medical Board for review.
You have the strangest Medical system in America. All of this running around in circles to get your child put in plaster. We just take our kids to he hospital and they get x-rayed and sorted out. She would have had a cast or moon boot on day one. I feel so sorry for her.
