- Fresh off the front porch I received my Kickstart backer New Wave Toys Dragon's Lair X Replicade. :D
I can't play this 1983 Don Bluth game for the life of me, but I still absolutely love the game.
Lets see how this 1/6th scale replica came out.

Ordered mine Glen and I'm not a compulsive buyer with this stuff. I ordered because of the nostalgia and quality. I'll never forget the first time I walked into my local arcade and saw this game.

I bought two of them on Kickstarter. The quality is phenomenal, if you’re a Dragon’s Lair fan this is a MUST have.
I think people might not understand what an absolute marvel the Dragon's Lair x RepliCade is. The fact that New Wave Toys pulled this off is just incredible. Making that scoreboard work - and getting the look EXACTLY right? The engineering had to have taken months. Seriously - that alone... but the details. Inside of the shipping box was a second box - a replica of the original pallet box the cabinet came in with the correct dimensions, weight and handling instructions. They included a REMOTE for the laser disc player. The grill for cab ventilation was recessed and had the correct number of spaces inside. I mean CMON - are you serious? I would have paid double for this EASILY. The bar was just raised so high by the release of this product - I feel safe in saying we might not see something of this quality for a long time to come. What I will say, however, is that since this cab is the exact one used for it's brother from another mother Space Ace - they could pump that one out nearly immediately. Oh - and I'll be first to order it too. After watching an interview with Shilo Prychak, founder of New Wave Toys - it only took about 5 seconds for me to realize how lucky we are about to be as kids of the 80's. He is one of the only people making these types of products that "gets it." And for that - he has my support on whatever they decide to do next. Not many purchases can actually make me tear up - creating a powerful moment of nostalgia and memories. This is retro toy of the year hands down and might just be for the last decade.
Indeed. Their attention to detail and loyalty to their customers is amazing. Not to mention how they’ve pulled of the manufacturing. I don’t know how they can afford to do it.
100% New Wave Toys knocked it out of the park with this one. A real labour of love.

Awesome Video Glen! This looks really nice, I love all the small details. I was never really interested in these 1/6 or 1/4 Scale cabinets, but this one does really look incredible!
The replica laser disc in the cabnet is so cool

If you want to use that little adhesive black rectangle to cover the 'Replitronics' logo on the coin door, you can get the original 'Cinematronics' logo custom printed on a decal to put over it for accuracy.

New wave toys boxes are top tier. Definitely worth keeping especially if you are moving to a new home.
Just ordered mine as an early Christmas present to myself, can't wait for it to arrive. This game absolutely blew my mind in my early teenage years, there was nothing else like it in the arcades of the time. PS don't worry Glen, I think you'll find most of us suck at this, in my case due to the higher than average cost per credit so I never got the practice-no such excuses allowed now! 👍👍.

I just ordered one of these about 3 days ago and I am here with a warning. On the side of the box it states gross weight is 2.8 kgs, which is about 6.17 lbs. New Wave toys is charging $22.00 shipping for UPS, $26.00 for USPS, and $33.00 for FedEx. ON AN ITEM THAT IS A LITTLE OVER 6 LBS! They are making a TON of money off of shipping on a 6 lbs item.

It's a real collective piece that you can actually play it's fantastic but you have to like really not playing a true game because it's really just an animated movie you make selections in but man it's fun and frustrating LOL
Just remember going into Aladdin’s Castle and seeing this when I was a kid. I was blown away. I’m glad I got it in my bartop. LOL

To achive the 4/3 ratio, those genius of the digital leisure have cutted away the image at left and right. Image already cutted at top and botton for the 16/9 ratio of the blueray version, from the Original 4/3 laser disc version
The second box is a replica of the shipping boxes for the arcade game. Hope you didn't throw it out!

Ok, got mine today and IT SUCKS BALLZ! WTH NEW WAVE TOYS? Did anyone QA these? I now have a worthless POS on my hands from China. The game is totally out of flow. For instance, the opening scene is not there, then it jumps to the horse, then to the bats, randomly then to Daphne? WTF, TOTALLY DISSATISFIED AND GOING TO OPEN A CC CLAIM, B.S., WAITED OVER A YEAR FOR THIS CRAP, UNREAL. Anyone else having this issue with theirs? Any customer support? I've been ignored by NWT to this point, sucks...really sucks...$145 paperweight.
