    Is nobody going to mention the Bodies Exhibit? Hundreds of dead bodies and body parts, plasticized in the middle of a pyramid, don't seem oddly morbid or, at the very least, attractive to the occult or inviting to the spirit world?

    We stayed here a year ago. We all went down to the buffet the first morning we were there (we were in town for a funeral) had breakfast and my uncle went back the room to have a nap. 30 minutes later we discovered he had passed away. Medics tried for 40 min to revive him. We felt weird being there from the minute we checked in and couldn’t check out fast enough.

    When the Luxor first opened there was a water & laser show in front of the Sphinx where the tram station is now located. The original hanging tram between Excalibur and Luxor had to shut down shortly after opening because high winds would cause the cars to swing wildly.
    There were four ride/attractions inside. The first was the Nile river ride which went around the perimeter of the casino floor. The other three were located upstairs and represented the past present and future. The first was a motion ride that started in a falling elevator. The second was a TV studio with a 3D element and the third was an IMAX screen showing the future.
    There was a a self guided walk - through replica of Tuts tomb that included reproductions of the treasures within. The the upstairs ride/attractions closed and the tomb was moved into one of those upstairs spaces. The buffet which was on the casino level was moved to the tombs old location. The tomb was later removed.
    There were also a couple of talking animatronic camels that got moved around.

    I lived in Vegas for a couple of years and didn't really know anyone. Sometimes, in the late evenings, I would would go to Luxor and walk around. It's on a part of the strip that's not very busy and parking is so easy, plus, Luxor connects to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay so when it was 105 degrees outsides (at night!) it was nice to be able to walk around in an open, climate controlled space. I always wish I could've seen Luxor in its heyday.

    It's not swampy lands that cause the sinking since they're in the desert. The ground around Las Vegas is sinking because they've over pumped the groundwater, so the land experiences a phenomena known as subsidence. There is a neighborhood just outside Las Vegas that is sinking and the homes have been destroyed from sinking into the ground.

    I stayed in the pyramid once and had a freakish experience. Woke up startled and yelling at my brother twice for some reason. The energy of the rooms, the platform hallways leading to each room and how theyre designed and situated are very weird along with the inclinators. It may have been because of that that I freaked. Also, I felt as if I didn't have any control of my senses; there was an energy of the room of it seeming to be very unbalanced. Unsure if that could've been related to the physical structure or maybe the spiritual environment or fung shei being way off. I was sober when this happened.
    Hope the room and/or floor we had/were on was not the location of any of the unfortunate events that you mentioned. I freaked so bad that I had to ride the inclinators down to the 1st floor in my pjs to have some fresh air to regain myself. This all happened in 1999. I have not stayed there since.

    Just a little insight, I just did some research, it was an urban legend, but it was actually true somewhere in the nineteen nineties, early nineteen nineties, when it opened the girl who jumped landed on what is now the food court, it used to be a buffet, but they ripped everything out and turned it into the food court with the big circle red chairs and moved the buffet down stairs under a roof area , and she jumped from the 26th floor. I stayed on the 16th once , it was very, very high! She had apparently just found out she had aids according to the reports and the hotel acted quickly it said

    • @chris7921
      @chris7921 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You got some facts wrong, first the Luxor isn't sinking, nor is the Mandalay Bay. Only during construction of the Mandalay Bay engineers noticed the center core of the building sank 17in and one of the wings sank by 2in. This was caused by excessive and uneven settling of the soil beneath. The issue was solved by installing aroun 500 pipes filled with grout and capped with a hydraulic jack at the end. And second the suicide that happened off of the 26th floor was by a local hooker who decided to jump after she discovered she had contracted HIV. She did land on top of the buffet which was located on the second level where the food court now stands. The buffet is now downstairs below the casino floor because the entire buffet on the mezzanine level was closed down due to the incident and HIV positive blood being scattered throughout the area, forced them to tear down the entire area and i guess you can say rebuild a new area where the old buffet once stood.

Her name was Sasha Clement and it was appear she suffered from past traumas and abuse that effected her in later life. It’s disgusting that people continue to lie about that fact without any knowledge. And how would people know if she had contracted HIV? Utter bullcrap. Any death resulting in massive blood loss to any area of a building especially with food around would be a biohazard incident, it would have to be specially cleaned, changed and renovated regardless of HIV.

    My first trip to Vegas in 99 I stayed here. The only thing I really remember is winning $400 bucks on a slot and the nightclub "Ra." I think that boat was taken out. And the Buffett wasn't that good. Does anyone else have that weird phobia of someone jumping from an atrium and landing on you? Hate it. But this is still a cool hotel, don't think I'd ever stay here again.

    The buffet Was moved to the basement level approximately 15 years ago where "The Winds of the Gods" Chariot Show used to be. It's original location was on the Attractions level where the food court now sits.

      When the boat ride went around the casino the stairs went up a half floor and you were on the second level, when they removed it they changed the entrance to go down into the casino. they made it so it could be changed if needed, that is why the entrance is mid level going into the casino.

    My mom won a trip to Vegas back around 96. I went with her and my brother and stayed next to the Tropicana in a cheaper hotel. I went to the Luxor with the only gambling money I had to bring. Lost that money in the fastest losing streak ever on blackjack. I couldn’t buy a win. That second floor thing wasn’t there before. Noticed that whole change in 2020 when I finally made it back to Vegas. It’s not the same.

    Have lived in Vegas. The mob did run Vegas in the 1940's and 1950's. In the 1960's Howard Hugh's purchased casino's and Vegas was becoming more corporate. There was still some element of organized crime in the 1960's and early 70's. But it was just much more underground.
    When Las Vegas generates so much income it becomes the ideal place to loan and money launder. Thus, making it the ideal place for the mob. It is said, that if you owed the mob, snitched on the mob, or was the mob's rival. You'd more than likely met your own demise. It is said, that the desert surrounding Las Vegas contains a lot of dead corpses from people that crossed the mob!

    • @LetYrLiteShine
      @LetYrLiteShine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yikes, I've heard that too but it's still creepy. I wonder if there was a specific "dumping ground" for the mob to do their revenge.

    Cool vid. I was meditating after securing a place to see Tutankhaten exhibition in London. I was taken back to being 24 on a trip to the Luxor March 2001 and got that when I went, I 'blessed it' (due to an ancient Egyptian life) So started on youtube.
    OK...this is why its 'cursed'
    They are using sacred Egyptian practices and artifacts in a place that is all about money - dirty money. Big no no. If this was one casino that played its games but used profits to help others, then it would have been a different story. Mob antics under the ground, well thats soon cleared, and that beacon is powerful, when channeled correctly. Prob some satanic worship thing going on there with peeps involved in the place.
    Loved the hotel as it had much more Egyptian feel. Hated having to sit through a sea of naked dancing women tho when there should have been naked men dancing for us ladies ;)
