Shohei carried his team to the playoffs when his teammates got injured. And when Shohei got injured and can’t play well in WS, his teammates stand up. That’s how Dodgers win the championship with great teamwork.
People have forgotten that Shohei was on a war to push Dodgers to the playoffs when half of his teammates were injured. His WS was a downer considering he got injured in Game 2 but honestly, for me, that 3-run Home run against the Padres changed the trajectory of their WS campaign. If this was last year, Dodgers would've fallen short again. You're correbct.. they became champions because of their teamwork - that includes their Manager and coaches.
Yankee fan here sad that we didn’t win but really happy for Shohei Ohtani He deserved this World Series win. If we had to lose to somebody, It would definitely be him. Congrats to Dodgers.
Wish all Yankee fans could be classy like you instead of the two fans that assaulted Mookie in game 4. Don't know what's worse for NY, they blowing a 5 run lead with all the missplays, or the Stankee fans assaulting Mookie or Fat Joe.
The Met fans probably feel the same way too. Most opposing teams (including the USA team) don’t see Ohtani as their nemesis who hit and pitch against them but see him as a competitor who brings energy and excitement to baseball.
Ohtani carried the Dodgers to the World Series, hit a 3 run HRs against the Padres also in game 3 against the Mets he hit a 3 run HR, the next day had a 1st inning HR in game 4, Ohtani hit .365 in NLCS and through the postseason he was 18 for 23 in RISP. In the World Series had a triple scored the tying run that led to Freemans HR. In game 2 he got injured but still willing to play, a heart of a Lion. In his first season with the Dodgers he help win a Championship🏆
Remember Ohtani also finished the regular season hitting .628/.667/1.186 with seven home runs six doubles, 10 stolen bases, 15 runs and 22 RBIs in his final 10 games of the season.
Shohei Ohtani in his first season with the Dodgers exceeded all expectations, he's an injured pitcher almost won a battling title and a triple crown, went 50-50 and won a World Series Championship. That is what legends are made.
Data shows that in the postseason, if a team falls behind by three runs, their chances of a comeback are nearly zero. Yet, in a 3-0 situation, Shohei broke that curse with a three-run homer! Without it, I believe we would have lost to the Padres and been eliminated. That’s how crucial this home run was!
Even without much incredible performance in the World Series. He's still one of the reasons the Dodgers are in the playoffs. Every Dodgers player is the most important player to win the championship. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
What are you talking about? Ohtani got INJURED in game 2, leaving him one-handed, after his clutch double, which tied it up 2-2 in the 8th in game 1 and set the stage for Freddie’s grand slam heroics that broke the Yankees' spirit. So other than Freddie, Ohtani is the reason why the Dodgers won the WS.
Shohei, Thank you for all the fun, joy and AWESOME baseball this season. Enjoy this WIN, parade, celebration and more. All the best this off season with your new personal life. 102 DAYS To Spring Training. Can't wait to see what you bring to 2025 !!! GO DODGERS & SHO!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
I can't wait to see Ohtani play again next season. Instead of 50-50 I think he will go 50 and 20 (50 HRs and 20 Wins) Shohei won 15 games with a 2.33 ERA a couple years ago on an Angels team that were 72-90, there is no doupt Shohei can win 20 games pitching for the Dodgers (As great as 50-50 Is with speed and power, going 50-20 is even greater with power and pitching.
It takes a whole team to win the championship. Shohei carried the load on the regular season, and the rest of his teammates carried the load on post season and WS. Maybe Shohei got nervous, pressure, expectations and injury that his performance during WS was off track. He needs motivation from teammates to play better.
People so obsessed about his WS performance and not looking back on his performance during the NL West championship series, NLDS, and NLCS. it's about time other players do their job in the WS. After all, shohei can't really exert himself given his should dislocation.
They are conveniently ignoring the fact that Ohtani got injured in game 2 and just parroting "He did nothing", when he is the reason why Dodgers won game 1 with his clutch double, which tied it up 2-2 in the 8th and set the stage for Freddie’s grand slam heroics.
The “Ohtani haters” conveniently forget his performance in the NLDS and NLCS and only point to his slump in the World Series. But taking the Dodgers to the promised land and his teammates honoring him was the essence of team sports. No matter how much they hate, Ohtani has finally earned his championship ring and is set to win his third unanimous MVP.💙🦄👏
Ohtani haters will hold on to him not performing well in the WS despite dislocating his damn shoulder. He should’ve and would’ve been out in any other situation but knew the psychological impact of him staying in the lineup would still benefit the team.
I agree, but the haters want to knock him for anthing. Ohtani carried the Dodgers to the World Series but in game 2 got injured but still willing to play, a heart of a Champion. Did you know some of the biggest stars had bad performance in their first World Series wins. When the Cardinals Stan Musial won his first World Series in 1942 he hit just .221 with 3 hits 0 homeruns. In 1951 Mickey Mantle hit .190 1 hit 0 homeruns (although injured just like Shohei but Ohthani still played with a dislocated shoulder) when Albert Pujols won his first World Series title in 2006 he batted just .200 with 3 hits in 5 games. I guess these superstars don't count for winning the World Series because they did'nt contribute enough.
I’m a dodger fan and it’s so crazy that this was ohtani first postseason/playoffs and he played this well clearly not typical ohtani but better then average when he answered the reporters question when he asked him “are you nervous” and ohtani said nope so nonchalantly he literally meant it Cinderella story First year with the dodgers First playoffs for him Obviously first World Series And first ring for him 🐐
He still sonnect and have good discipline. You could see frustration as times goes on but I felt a little nudge here and there and he will be a good player in the post seasons.
Unfortunately, Ohtani couldn't bring about his real power ability for WS because of his unexpected injury, but it's not too much to say that he obviously led Dodgers' NL victory by his achievements throughout this season. Dave should have given the first speach time to Shohei for this day ceremony at Dodger stadium. Why did he give him the last speaker? Was it language problem? He spoke perfectly.
It's absolutely fascinating how almost everyone conveniently developed a selective memory about Ohtani's injury, right? It's like, who even remembers that inconvenient little detail of his shoulder dislocating in Game 2? It's almost like injuries are just totally minor inconveniences that don't have any impact at all, especially on the shoulder of an athlete who just might need it for, oh I don’t know, hitting and running. But let's not trouble ourselves with such trivialities, shall we? I’m sure there’s some cosmic truth in overlooking the fact that Ohtani couldn’t exactly dazzle us from the dugout while nursing what is surely just a slight, insignificant shoulder dislocation. I mean, why let a practical necessity like a functioning shoulder interfere with a good old-fashioned narrative about his supposed lack of performance through injury-induced pain after Game 2? And before that injury, it's as if Ohtani's clutch double in Game 1, the one that tied the game 2-2 in the 8th and set up Freddie's grand slam, never happened. Funny how that moment doesn't fit the narrative, huh? Heaven forbid we recognize how that hit prevented the Yankees from casually strolling through Game 1 without a dramatic, spirit-crushing walk-off. And sure, let's keep pretending that Ohtani's pivotal contribution to the Dodgers' spark was just completely irrelevant. Seriously, it seems like no one remembers Ohtani's great LCS performance before the devastating injury, where he had 1.184 OPS, .364 batting average, leading with 9 runs all while moonwalking through bases with his 17 TIMES on base. With a mind-boggling .818 with RISP, the dude basically turned baseball into an artform. He was the unsung NLCS MVP. But of course, let's pretend none of that brilliance ever happened, all because he didn't magically homer in every game with just one hand in the WS. Not to mention Ohtani saved the team from getting swept by the Padres with his clutch 3-run homer. Without Ohtani, the Dodgers would’ve undoubtedly thrown in the towel in that game and gracefully rolled over, just as they’ve perfected in the last two years. In summary; these casual critics have such a gift for missing the point entirely, don't they? Overlooking his obvious injury and instead, conveniently summing up his WS as "did nothing", as if the obstacles he faced weren't glaringly obvious and didn’t carry the Dodgers to the WS.

He has a long history of betting on sports, the reason Ippie did'nt get in trouble in the past was because he used his own money, but once he stole that's when he got in trouble, but the troll haters want to push the narative and blame Shohei, but they try to knock him on anything.
This relentless hype of Ohtani is nauseating!
Yet you're here and enjoying it thoroughly!!!😃😄
