I tried your way with a red velvet today but used all buttermilk pinch of vinegar and around 1/4 of oil with a stick and half of butter. And I was blowen away how close it was to my homemade red velvet. Thank you!!!
What an adorable chef...cutest little voice.. I enjoyed the entire thing. I had just made a chocolate box cake but played around with some adaptations based on a chocolate cake I had seen by Irma Garten. Same idea as here. This really turns out so well. Loved the video.!!!!
I love this! I've been doing these things for a while now and loved seeing someone else doing it. I really enjoy your personality and your cheerful voice too. You have a lovely lilt and bounce in your voice that I find super pleasing! Subbed. 👍🏼 p.s., buttermilk is my favorite, favorite baking buddy now
This channel has a history of being condescending towards their viewers. Their whole series is literally called, "You're doing it all wrong". I'm still subscribed to them because they offer fresh, original perspectives, and their content is entertaining
New sub here. Thanks for all the tips. I've been doing most of these swap outs for quite a while. I've been doubling the amount of butter. Have you noticed the box sizes keep changing, yet the amount of ingredients stays the same? I made a bundt cake last week, and it was completely raw in the center. I had to put it back in for 15 minutes. Lol
What cake pan brand do you recommend? I do all the above mentioned and my cakes are amazing. I had to prove to my husband that it’s okay to go off recipe.
I would swap the water called for in any chocolate cake recipe with coffee! You can also add a spoonful of instant espresso powder to any chocolate recipe to enhance the flavor ❤
Hey, I’ve always wondered about that. My sister and her family are all glucose intolerant. And we were talking about cake mix this weekend and I wondered if there are any. Where do you get them and do they have all flavors. Thank you for bringing that up.
Plain full-fat yogurt is so excellent for so many things, including adding to cake mixes. Also, it's easy just to eyeball it to know how much is enough by the batter consistency.
These are GREAT tips, thank you so much!! I'll put a front porch on this and say, you can't make EVERYONE happy... and this is meant to be constructive and friendly, I hope you take it that way: consider doing away with having background "music" while you talk. It's just very distracting, unnecessary and makes it harder to hear you. I LOVE the information, though and I'm appreciative.
This is so funny because we've already know this this is so hilarious because it seems like so many people acting like oh guess what I discovered but you know what different cultures have already known this butter milk all of that stuff and others choose not to share a recipes😂
But some people don't know these things I was taught by this by my mother and great-grandmother and I'm in my late sixties so give other people a chance to learn before you place your snide comments please😮
Oil does keep the cake moist over time (particularly helpful for cakes with frosting that are refrigerated), but I find the flavor of butter just can't be beat.
You, foseco are a very strange person. You CHOSE to look at her channel. You CHOSE to watch it. If you don't like her ideas shut your mouth and do whatever the hell you want!!! You don't want her to bother you? Are you kidding me???

Thanks for the advice. I've tried your tips for boxed cake mix. I'm pleased with the result. Thanks and keep sharing!

Thank you so much for these amazing tips! Can't wait to try them!❤
Nicely done! Thank you!!!!!!
First time watching. Thanks for sharing. I just subscribed.😊
Kinda mean comments here-be nice that she is giving useful tips
A lot of people are just miserable shites who want everyone to be miserable shites along with them. Best advice is to ignore and pray for them.

Thanks so much!!
okay ,yes to the coffee !!! Thankyou! 😆😁
Do you detect any coffee flavor in the chocolate?

It's true - they keep getting smaller and smaller!
Sending to my 2 son's...🎉😊
Make you tell them to let the melted butter cool before you add the eggs, or you will get cooked eggs.
What cake pan brand do you recommend? I do all the above mentioned and my cakes are amazing. I had to prove to my husband that it’s okay to go off recipe.
Can i use half a cup of 2% milk and half a cup of sour cream?
I made a triple chocolate cake a couple weeks ago and substituted Abt a qtr cup of Woodford Reserve in place of the water
lemon juice fades colors when you add your coloring to it especially pink
How about adding instant pudding?
How do you use coffee for a chocolate cake? That sounds yummy❤

Yep @@ChefKatieRosenhouseis right on both counts 👍🏼
@@ChefKatieRosenhouse do you detect any of the coffee flavor in the chocolate?
Does this work for gluten free cake mixes too? I've only used a GF mix once so didn't want to experiment given the lack of familiarity.
Yes these hacks should work for gluten free cake mixes as well as standard - although gluten-free can definitely be a bit more finicky for sure!

Instead of sour cream can you use plain Greek yogurt?
@ritav793 Personally I use thickened Doritos consommé
Yes you can!

Why don't: you make your own frosting instead of can frosting.

What if you browned the butter first???
I usually put some doritos consomme for that extra southwestern kick
We like anchovies here..
How to make a good cake: just do it from scratch.
Ones a dark pan, ones a light pan, different instructions
I saw she added 4 egg yolks, not two, as she mentioned. What's up with that????
No it was 2 whole eggs and 2 yolks
She said two whole eggs and 2 yolks instead of 3 eggs like the box says
2 full eggs and 2 only yokes
I never use Canned Frosting. It's nasty.
By removing the oil and swapping for butter, you'll end up with a dryer cake no ifs ands or buts.
Oil does keep the cake moist over time (particularly helpful for cakes with frosting that are refrigerated), but I find the flavor of butter just can't be beat.
@@ChefKatieRosenhousenothing beats the flavor of butter.😊
🙌
I disagree. I generally switch oil out for butter. Very good 👍🏾
I find your title offensive...
Could you maybe change it to
""here's the best way to'' do whatever
instead of insulting people you don't even know???
Welcome to TH-cam
Calm down, it's only CAKE 😅
Good grief

Yeah...Well...
You are spelling all wrong.
Chill out
I do so enjoy people telling me I've been doing things wrong all my life.
How about you just let people do what they want and stop bothering us.
Oh my giddy aunt. How about you not dictate what she does and move on if you're that fragile! Criminy. ❄️
Hosnis she bothering if you went out the way to watch it troll?
