Tip from me, a master barber: use paper towels to just gently squeeze water from beard. They are highly absorbent. No rubbing. That can damage hair/beard. Never, ever use direct heat to dry wet hair/beard. As Dan says, only apply heat to lightly damp hair/beard which already contains product. Direct heat is for styling only. If you want to apply oil during the day with no shower. Make a hot towel (like at barber shop) by running hand towel under hot water until fully saturated, then remove from water. Immediately turn on cold water. Wring out hot towel while alternately running each hand under cold water. This keeps you from scalding your hands but allows the towel to be as hot as possible. Fold towel lengthwise, then wrap around your face/beard until towel cools off. This will open cuticle layer and allow moisture from towel to penetrate hair and also allow oil to penetrate as well. That’s my secret hot towel trick. My customers love it. They can be hot as hell. Be careful. Haha!
Being I just started blow drying my beard after shower 4 days ago, I had to guess. It also popped in my head “always oil” first. Yes, I apply with a partially wet beard. I shower at night, even doing so I find that in the morning I have less snags and better styling when I do my morning oil. I spent a year not using any heat do to the lack of length. Now that I’m 4-5” it really makes my beard look and feel better. Kudos Dan for all the information.
Ok so I have had a full on beard for about 10 years now. Until a month ago or so (before I found your channel) beard oil on a dry beard only, and blow drying without anything. My beard felt ok ish it was soft right after I used oil for a small amount of time. Now I've been towel drying a lil adding oil then blow drying my beard for a lil over a month now and my beard has never felt and looked better. Guilty as charged, I used to blow dry before applying beard oil, but now will stop that asap, ty for the tip. About the "towel dry" thing, here's an alternative (which I use every single day), Instead of towwel drying my beard, I use a microfiber cloth, which is far more absorbent than cotton, or any other towel fabric + it doesnt damage your beard at all, it is super soft and you'll be able to partially dry it right away. These cloths are super cheap and come in packs of 4, so it's a simple and healthy alternative. Have to thank scotch porter for this tip. Been doing this for the past month and I'm stunned by the difference in terms of frizz. You should not scrub, even with these cloths, because scrubbing (either with a towel of a cloth) will damage the beard and cause insane frizz and dryness
I've protested the oil with a damp beard for years (I also blow-dry) and I've finally tried it for about a week and a half now. I have to say it was one of the most significant beard changes I've ever felt from such a minor change in routine. That's what I get for being so stubborn.
Just started growing my beard out 4 months ago been watching your videos since. Love the vids and definitely appreciate your channel. I had never had facial hair I joined the military at a young age and just recently got out and now that I’m out I’m trying out the beard life. And I have to admit I’m loving it. Thank you for all the advice they are much needed especially for us newbys 👍👍
Totally agree with about 75% dry before applying beard oil. Also use cool setting on blow dryer. I also don’t use beard oil everyday, about every two day I apply.
Finally, a man that I can trust with all my beard issues and questions. Just ordered a heated brush beard straightener and will be learning to properly use it. I typically 75% towel dry, underbrush with a hair drier, fluffing out my beard, then apply oil, and lightly brush to style. My beard is about 9 inches. I am interested in resolving some waves and some wildness on one side, otherwise, I would never add heat. Thanks for some great tips.
I definitely leave a little water in the beard when I apply my beard products. I shower wash condition and towel dry my beard ever day (ruff job makes the beard dirty every day). Then I add raw caster oil and a beard butter do the rest of my morning routine to give the oil a chance to work a little. Then after I'm done with everything else I go back to the beared blow dry it and comb it out nicely. Works like a charm and my beard has never been happier.
I know I’ve shared this before, but I use a large microfiber towel for drying my beard after showering. I got mine from the automotive section of Walmart for about $7.00. It’s super soft and more absorbing and not nearly as harsh as a standard bath towel. It’s been a game changer for me for sure.
Oh for sure, those are great! I just absolutely hate the feel of them with a passion. It doesn't work for me personally. I know for many it makes a great difference. A normal towel is perfectly fine for those that do not prefer the microfiber towel. If you like though, keep at it! They are really good for your beard
Applying oil to a slightly wet beard is a game changer!! There are days I'll just put oil in a dry beard. Usually, towards the end of the day my beard will start to feel very dried out. Even while staying hydrated. Over the last several days I've noticed such a difference when applying a quality oil to my slightly wet beard. I usually use some butter about 10 minutes or so after the oil. Besides it just feeling healthier, my beard doesn't get all dried out towards the end of the day. It looks and feels much better. Lesson learned!! Thanks Dan..........
I can 💯 tell a difference. I’ve always dried it up then just thrown in my oil and butter. My beard was much fuller and softer. Definitely healthier. Thanks Dan!
I’ve done it this way for a while. Helps it spread better overall 😊 Plus doesn’t use a lot lot of oil… I towel dry 75% & brush & then apply & take my fingers through it to spread it & try to get the oil worked in a bit. Then brush.
Yep... I used to use a argan heat protectant spray and then I would apply oil. The heat protectant spray mixed with the heat made my hairs feel weird and straw like. It also made my hair too hot and stick straight. I think I also used to only apply oil to the skin and I wouldn't focus on the hairs as much when I was doing that, because it made my skin not irritated. Amazing how much I have learned along the way from this channel.
I towel dry to about 75% add my oils then hit it with beard dryer on cold shot only. I never use heat due to the fact i dont like the way it makes my beard look, and my beard is normally pretty straight anyways. Then i balm it up and hit it with thebcold shot again to lock in place. FOR ME it works the best.
Heck yeah, you absolutely have it down. Find what works for you is so important. The unnatural super straight look on a beard is not in my personal preference either 👊
I just ran across your channel a few days ago and I have learned so much over these few days. I have been using beard products for about 2.5-3 years and turns out I have been using most of them wrong lol. I tried doing what you were talking about in this video and my beard feels so much healthier and softer since I started putting oil in with a damp beard!! Thank you so much for making these videos, they will help out a lot of bearded brothers!!
So I usually use a heat protection spray before I brush my beard with the heated comb. I feel like it works better for my beard. Only downfall is this Louisiana humidity.
I use a regular towel, I press on my beard from one end to the other from underneath for about 4 secs on every dab, then I press above from one end to the other & it’s about a good 75 to 80% dry before I oil it, comb my beard to spread that oil, wait a couple of minutes to my pores open & absorb that oil, then blow dry it. Thanks Dan for all your teaching I’ve learned.
I am thankful for your advice and knowledge. My first go around trying to grow a beard and not following your advice until about halfway through helped greatly. Then I shaved after two months (I know unthinkable). But when I started again I followed your advice from day one and the difference is amazing.
Now that I'm into maintaining my beard your videos are the first ones I watch when I have a question. Very informative and most of all, I trust your words of wisdom. Thanks
Another great logical video. I've been doing this for quite a while. Wasn't sure why but it seemed the best logical way to take care of my beard. Now this proves it. I even do this when I do a cold water rinse in the morning. I take showers at night and use very little heat at night. But in the morning I do use some heat in those trouble spots. Thanks Dan. Keep dropping that beard knowledge. Been pointing new and old beardsmen to the channels and others every chance I get.
I grew my beard out for 1 year from mid 2018 to about June or early July of this year. My previous routine was washing and condition everyday to every other. Blow drying and then applying products like oil and balm. Thought everything was good. Then I shaved everything off and started over in late August. This time I wash at most twice a week co-wash twice a week and rinse only three days a week. I now partially towel dry, apply oil or bossman jelly, wait a few minutes and then finish with blow dryer then apply any other products like balls or butters. My beard is much softer and noticeably healthier than before!
Your beard is getting long Mr C! Looks healthy and most excellent. Thanks for another informational and entertaining video trusted teach! Have a good Sunday evening.
Yeah towel about 70 -75%. Usually try and wait a couple minutes and come through then use blow dryer or jester brush. Definitely keeps my beard more full and hydrated. You can fry it pretty quick without it. I sometimes ass a little butter as well and then balm after blow dry to help lock in moisture.best for the winter months me and you get in Michigan! Great video!👊🏻💯
This is the video I’ve been needing after our conversation! So much great explanation! I’ve always compelled dried my beard and then added oil. I’m glad I’m on the right track now!
I don't use a blow-dryer myself I use a towel always have, but the longer my beard gets the only thing that tames it is using warm or hot water in the morning and I noticed the same thing getting my Beard about 75% dry and then putting product in It, I get a lot better results and my beard stays softer a lot longer.
@@gusthomas2423 that creates a butter like consistency/product. It makes it a little more difficult to get to the skin, where it really needs to go first. I would recommend trying oil first, waiting 5 minutes, and then balm or your combo oil/balm.
I'll try. Mines dry. This is probably why. I used to do it like this. Idk why I stopped. And I've been wanting to lay off the blow dryer for a while but my beard looks like garbage when I don't use it.
Great video bud. I always come away from watching your videos feeling like the ones that cover the basics or fundamentals are the best ones. Keep it up Dan! 👊
I find a heated beard brush helps as my beard is really curly and course. I use it after a shower with oil, other wise my beard would be narly. I just hate the sound it makes and the steam as it passes through the hair 😒
I was only using beard oil and beard balm on a stick dry beard (or a beard butter because my balm doesn't have bees wax in it) one day I tried beard co-wash and applied the oil on damped beard then used the dryer then the balm before going out and it was a night and day difference!!!! my beard was smooth and tamed till the next day I used less of my products on it which means I'll save money on-going 👌🏻
What I tend to do is towel dry first then blow dry on medium heat. I had no idea I was damaging my beard. I'm going to add oil after the towel dry then blow dry it to style now and see how it goes
Just started following but been a bearded fella for 3 years now. Just started using beard wash and oils and butters seem next. I do dry about 75 percent and use a soft towel to leave slightly damp for the dry morning. Great tips you have given and I'm glad to learn more about my most precious chunk of hair I have left. :)
I sometimes apply oil during the middle of the day to my beard so of course it's dry. But in the morning and night it's damp and I apply oil and butter
I did that applied heat before oil and no good! every morning I would comb through and it seemed like more hairs we’re getting pulled out very scary to see that’s what led me to this video I hope from here on out the problem will be fixed I work for a city so I like my beard to look more professional it’s about 2 1/2 inches long
I pretty much follow the exact routine....I may leave my beard slightly damper than 75% but not much works well and I also notice that my beard is much softer when heat is involved in my routine!!
1. Via the towel drying method adopted you will still get some Moisturising element to add some beard oil after drying from 4-5 minutes 2. If you add beard oil before drying via say a hair dryer you will be drying out any benefit of the beard oil and any natural oil from the pores in the skin after washing the Beard. 3. From a dermatological aspect the skin has it's own natural oil pouring out before and after you wash the skin / beard so if do dry the beard with heat use cold air option. 4. Beard Straighteners and of course beard oil is going dry and burn the hair follicle. 5. Towel dry the add and oil for maximum benefit as this way you are not drying out the beard via unwanted heat sources. 5. Some may use oil before drying as it gives the beard some glide whilst doing it though the end result under the skin is varied dependant on the individual themselves. 6. I'd say there is fact and reasoning behind each beard regime whether you look at the skin benefits or just a way to dry the beard most go via researching online some have experience in the cosmetic industry and a fair few have a scientific understanding behind their beliefs.
@@furyofmymakershands for the oil after blow dryer point, I will have to disagree and that is totally okay! There are many layers to the damage to the hair from heat with no protection, and that is the worst of the evils here for me. I appreciate the thought invoking response though!
Hey, Dan. I know it’s old, but I saw your video today and I subscribed. I’m fairly novice here, my beard is nine months old and I’m still experimenting. I use soap bar for wash, oil and brush. I have never dried my beard before and wasn’t really happy with the result. Like most of us, I don’t always have time for my beard. I can honestly say, after I started drying my beard, it stopped being itchy. I think it’s due to too much water trapped in it and on a skin maybe? I use my blower for drying motorcycles, it’s got settings, so I use minimal heat and blow. The air coming from it is almost like air coming on me on my Harley 😁 Thanks for your video! I hope to learn more from you in the future 👍🏻
I used to not apply the oil when it was wet but its SOO much better now that I apply it right after a shower. since I have a goatee I just do one ot tow good dabs with the Towle so it is not soaking after the shower and then apply oil. the first month I started doing that it made a huge difference.
I’ve been drying up to around 90% without really acknowledging it because of the water/oil don’t mix assumption but the few times I had tried it closer to 75% dry in the past I found the product spread so much better like you said Dan. I was always confused as to why my beard needed so many drops of oil considering its length and that’s obviously why. I’ll be cutting back on my drying to 75% intentionally from now on because of this info. Thanks so much as always!
Only difference in my routine is I put oil in after towel drying but before combing/detangling. I find it helps detangle and spreads oil better this way. I also may put oil into my beard when it's dry mid day if I feel it needs it.
Hey buddy! I like to comb through the wet beard without oil first, just for exfoliation purposes. It allows you to get the dead skin cells off easier than compared to having oil down. Certinaly not a needed step if you do not have issues with beardruff or flakey skin. For the mid-day, the beard and hair have absorbed oil and nourishment already from the morning, so you should be good to go! One thing you might want to try, just to see how you like the results, but what about keeping a small spray by bottle the sink? Spray the beard a couple of times before applying the products. Get that little bit of extra hydration to lock in. Works wonders for me
Hey Dan, as I said to you on IG I think, always always beard oil on a damp beard. The pores on your face are open too, so good for the skin. I pat dry my beard, I never rub. Place my towel on my face and hold it for a few seconds each time. I've just watched your ONLY beard oil video. Now, I remember you saying this a while ago in another video. So, I have tried it........damn! My beard feels better, looks better with no balm and combined with the wave and curl drying technique, my beard has looked on point for the last couple of weeks.......all thanks to your tips. Best channel for beard knowledge. (Sorry for the long comment, had a lot to say 🤣)
You saved me on the partially wet beard advice 👍. Previously I was applying it dry and I was using way more product than needed and dried up too quick.
I've always applied oil to my beard when slightly wet then blow dry after. my beard feels so soft and looks great. Once i tried blow drying then applying oil after you can feel the difference my hair felt like a wire brush.
Thanks Dan. In the morning I usually apply my oil to a dry beard. I'll be trying your method over the next few days. It seems to just make sense that way anyways. I'll get back to you Tuesday or Wednesday.
I struggle with this, Dan. I have yet to have success with this method. The best I seem to be able to do is applying oil to the surface of my beard after styling or in the evening when I don't care what my beard looks like. I have a 5-inch beard (growing out to 6-8 inches) with fantastic coverage and no neckline, but my hair is dark, straight, and fine. If I blowout my beard, it looks full and great - a lot like yours when it was the same length. If I put even a small amount of oil in first, it takes the volume out of my beard - the hairs clump together and the beard comes out quite slick after blow-drying. The shape is wrong and I have transparency. I have the kind of bad beard day that would cause me to shave if I didn't also have the good beard days. It was the same deal when I had head hair. I could use matte fiber, because it had no shine or weight, but had mixed results with shinier and heavier oil-based products like pomade.
I’ve only got about 6 weeks growth on a full beard so glad to have this info along with your other content to keep me straight before I get too far down the road with it. I never knew anything about oils or any other beard products until I stumbled across your channel. Thanks for providing this great resource. 👊🏻
Dan. ive always oiled my beard before i apply heat, its part of my daily routine and i have to use the blow dryer otherwise i feel like im missing a step when i dont apply heat. i will never not oil and just apply heat. Today i oiled with Liquid Gold and combed it in, waited 10 minutes then used my round brush and curled it out away from my beard to get it straight and applied tension to straighten and applied heat to straighten it out and whn i was done it was all warm and soft then i applied some Liquid Gold balm. It raining here today in Massachusetts and when i came in i had to recomb and apply a little more heat to fix it, not a great beard day but guess what ...its still soft and manageable.
Seems to me the percentages attempt to describe the beard's "feel". I blot with a towel instead of rubbing, to keep my curly whiskers from snagging in the terrycloth.
All those beard products every one telling you something different who do you believe very confusing " like your channel and dedication to the beard topic
Thanks for the video. I always apply oil before blow drying and I have Dan "I have a video for that" C to thank for that. I probably go to 85% percent towel dry and will see if I can reduce that percentage a bit and let you know how my gray beard responded.
There are some times I feel my beard needs some oil but I don't have the time to shower and I will put oil in when it's dry. I feel like the effects/benefits of the oil disappear more rapidly when it's dry. I do like the feel of it better after a shower and it feels like it lasts longer for me. Also I def need to drink more water. Thanks for pointing that out.
Dan, another informative video. I apply my oil to a damp beard, though not 75% dry. Probably closer to 85-90 if I had to guess. I’ve toyed with a blow dryer but haven’t had any success there really. So I don’t bother.
Another great video. Your beard looks more awesome all the time, and all you do really shows in just how healthy it looks. I agree with drying at 75% and then adding oil. I add mostly argon oil, and it seems to dry well, and seal well also. I look forward to each new vid.
Awesome tips,I’ve actually been adding my oils to my beard while it’s still damp and I was afraid I was messing up but now glad to know I been doing it right
Awesome video again Dan C! First grew out my beard in 2015 But always maintained about a 2 month beard in length. This year I clean shaved for the first time in 4 years with the plan of just growing out a fresh beard and to see what my face looked like again LOL. Anyway I’m @ about the 3 month mark & I just started using a blow dryer I’m gonna rock a longer beard for the new year 2 see how I like it. My routine is pretty much exactly what you say in this video thank you brother!
Hey brotha! What about keeping a little spray bottle next to the sink? Spray the beard a couple times and then go in with oil so you can lock in that moisture
question..when should butter be applied..after the blowdryer..or before..i cant find the vid that talks about it..thank you very much for all you do Dan C...Stay beared and Stay Positive
I have been jumping out of the shower, slather butter, comb and blow dry. So am I doing this wrong? I think I might because in another video you said oil right out of shower. So the order should be shower, oil, comb, blow dry and then butter? Srry for all the questions 2night.
Dan C Bearded I use Honest Amish premium oil, badass beard oil, and others, as well as scotch porter wash and conditioner. I shower at night.. I oil (wait 3-5 min) then blowdry with my kent comb.. I also add beard butter as it is part of my night time routine (thanks to you) but.. should I add the butter first before blowdry or after? As for the morning I get the beard wet then add beard oil (wait 3-5 min) then blowdry with Kent comb before the day. Is this more blowdrying then needed or ok to add heat in the am&pm routine?
Hey dan, been a little bit 😅. My beard feels super healthy and great since following all of your tips so thank you. My beard is so unruly though. Can’t get rid of my waves to save my life despite your beard wave elimination routine. And my underbeard is curing your instead of going down. I can’t get my hair to just go down no matter how much I train it. Any tips?
Also Dan I wanted to ask you with me being mixed and having naturally a curly beard do you still recommend using a blow dryer? It has been making a difference since using it for the first week even when I wake up in the morning my beard just lays down better.

I typically 75% towel dry, underbrush with a hair drier, fluffing out my beard, then apply oil, and lightly brush to style. My beard is about 9 inches. I am interested in resolving some waves and some wildness on one side, otherwise, I would never add heat. Thanks for some great tips.
That is awesome! Sounds like you are dialed and not perfecting your craft. Happy to help in any way I can!
Heck yeah, awesome!
Your beard density is beyond epic !!! My length is almost there but it needs more density … :(
Thanks brotha!
Spot on brotha, thank you Tim!
I can 💯 tell a difference. I’ve always dried it up then just thrown in my oil and butter. My beard was much fuller and softer. Definitely healthier. Thanks Dan!
Heck yes, great to hear!
I’ve done it this way for a while. Helps it spread better overall 😊 Plus doesn’t use a lot lot of oil… I towel dry 75% & brush & then apply & take my fingers through it to spread it & try to get the oil worked in a bit. Then brush.
That’s awesome!
I love it all!
@@DanCBearded I love this channel and you guys too!
Trusted teacher, everything you say makes so much sense. Thanks for another awesome video.
Thank you brotha, I appreciate the kind words and support 🙏
I just ran across your channel a few days ago and I have learned so much over these few days. I have been using beard products for about 2.5-3 years and turns out I have been using most of them wrong lol. I tried doing what you were talking about in this video and my beard feels so much healthier and softer since I started putting oil in with a damp beard!! Thank you so much for making these videos, they will help out a lot of bearded brothers!!
Oh man. That’s awesome to hear Noah! Thanks for sharing and welcome to the channel 🤝
So I usually use a heat protection spray before I brush my beard with the heated comb. I feel like it works better for my beard. Only downfall is this Louisiana humidity.
I actually have a video on that topic: th-cam.com/video/kmU9CrPGTig/w-d-xo.html
I use a regular towel, I press on my beard from one end to the other from underneath for about 4 secs on every dab, then I press above from one end to the other & it’s about a good 75 to 80% dry before I oil it, comb my beard to spread that oil, wait a couple of minutes to my pores open & absorb that oil, then blow dry it. Thanks Dan for all your teaching I’ve learned.
Same method here brotha!!

Thank you! I am working hard at it
I am thankful for your advice and knowledge. My first go around trying to grow a beard and not following your advice until about halfway through helped greatly. Then I shaved after two months (I know unthinkable). But when I started again I followed your advice from day one and the difference is amazing.
That is the best compliment you could give!
Now that I'm into maintaining my beard your videos are the first ones I watch when I have a question. Very informative and most of all, I trust your words of wisdom. Thanks
Your tips are my 10 bearded commandments lol I always make sure in the morning to get my beard damp then oil then I dig out the blow dry for heat
Thank you brotha!
Thank you do much Eric! Absolutely love your positivity and support 🙏
That is awesome! Most guys can grow a beard by doing nothing. The right knowledge and routines make all the difference though
Your beard is getting long Mr C! Looks healthy and most excellent. Thanks for another informational and entertaining video trusted teach! Have a good Sunday evening.
Thank you Grant!
Yes sir! I figured out how my beard works. It has a mind of its own. Took awhile but I know what it likes and dislikes.
That is a beautiful thing and what it is all about! Figure out what works for your beard 👊
The dry winter is brutal!
This is the video I’ve been needing after our conversation! So much great explanation! I’ve always compelled dried my beard and then added oil. I’m glad I’m on the right track now!
Awesome man, thanks for watching!
Awesome!
And thanks for the videos keep up the good work💯
Thanks dan for letting people know that ,every time people asked me I would tell them I apply oil before I blow dry they would look at me crazy
Well they are the crazy ones! haha just send them a link to this video
Lately I've been using a combination of beard balm and argan oil while my beard is still wet and before blow drying. Works great.
That is awesome! Oil first and then balm 👌
@@DanCBearded Actually I put the balm in my hand then add the oil and mix them together. Makes a nice consistency and goes in the beard easy.
@@gusthomas2423 that creates a butter like consistency/product. It makes it a little more difficult to get to the skin, where it really needs to go first. I would recommend trying oil first, waiting 5 minutes, and then balm or your combo oil/balm.
@@DanCBearded Okay, thanks!
I'll try. Mines dry. This is probably why. I used to do it like this. Idk why I stopped. And I've been wanting to lay off the blow dryer for a while but my beard looks like garbage when I don't use it.
Keep me posted!
Great video bud. I always come away from watching your videos feeling like the ones that cover the basics or fundamentals are the best ones. Keep it up Dan! 👊
Thank you brotha Yock!
I use the same routine you do Dan. You’re chAnnel is where I learned it👍🏼
That is awesome buddy! Thank you for the comment, I really appreciate that!
I find a heated beard brush helps as my beard is really curly and course. I use it after a shower with oil, other wise my beard would be narly. I just hate the sound it makes and the steam as it passes through the hair 😒
That’s awesome!
Let me know how it is going!
Awesome!
You are just awesome buddy ... Wonderfully explained ...
Thank you!!
I did that applied heat before oil and no good! every morning I would comb through and it seemed like more hairs we’re getting pulled out very scary to see that’s what led me to this video I hope from here on out the problem will be fixed I work for a city so I like my beard to look more professional it’s about 2 1/2 inches long
This will make a big difference! Oil before heat, always!
I pretty much follow the exact routine....I may leave my beard slightly damper than 75% but not much works well and I also notice that my beard is much softer when heat is involved in my routine!!
Heck yes, awesome!
Beard oil after drying would work well for most. Whether it be towel drying or via hair dryer.
Have reason or facts behind your statement?
That's awesome! Welcome to the channel 👊
Dan C Bearded thanks man 👊🏻
I used to not apply the oil when it was wet but its SOO much better now that I apply it right after a shower. since I have a goatee I just do one ot tow good dabs with the Towle so it is not soaking after the shower and then apply oil. the first month I started doing that it made a huge difference.
Heck yeah, that is awesome to hear!
That's awesome! Let me know how it goes 👊
Works wonders for me
@@DanCBearded Spray bottle sounds like a good idea, although not sure if the wife will tolerate any more beard items taking up counter space, lol.
@@blazingbeardproducts2845 haha that is the forever battle, I completely understand
Tony, do not apologize for the comment, just leave more like that! Extremely kind comment. Thank you!
You saved me on the partially wet beard advice 👍. Previously I was applying it dry and I was using way more product than needed and dried up too quick.
Man I am glad I could help!
I've always applied oil to my beard when slightly wet then blow dry after. my beard feels so soft and looks great. Once i tried blow drying then applying oil after you can feel the difference my hair felt like a wire brush.
Absolutely agree! Thank you for the comment with experience
I don't use any heat but I do put oil in my beard while it's still a bit damp mostly out of laziness
Haha well it worked out for you!
Thanks Dan. In the morning I usually apply my oil to a dry beard. I'll be trying your method over the next few days. It seems to just make sense that way anyways. I'll get back to you Tuesday or Wednesday.
Please do, excited to hear your thoughts!
This is what I was looking for! Thank you.
Perfect! You’re welcome
I’ve only got about 6 weeks growth on a full beard so glad to have this info along with your other content to keep me straight before I get too far down the road with it. You're welcome brotha 👊
Dan. ive always oiled my beard before i apply heat, its part of my daily routine and i have to use the blow dryer otherwise i feel like im missing a step when i dont apply heat. i will never not oil and just apply heat.
Heck yes buddy!

Seems to me the percentages attempt to describe the beard's "feel". I blot with a towel instead of rubbing, to keep my curly whiskers from snagging in the terrycloth.

I have been jumping out of the shower, slather butter, comb and blow dry. So am I doing this wrong? I think I might because in another video you said oil right out of shower. So the order should be shower, oil, comb, blow dry and then butter? Srry for all the questions 2night.

Yes, absolutely! It all depends on the style you are trying to go for. If you want somewhat of a straighter beard look, then heat will be the answer
