    Hey Rylan! Thanks for the video. Great tip! I used to work in a truck shop and I was taught the same trick to rebuild big diesel starter motors.

    Hi.. not model specific, but friends Vegas Jackpot.. , there are two bolts to bottom of starter.. and OIL came running out.. ie , the starter must have been flooded? with oil.. my though is that people keep way! over filling and oil blowing by shaft seal , hence oil going in and this is why starting issue.. can't imagine what the bottom end is having to splash through if I am right.. imho.. oil is to be checked with bike upright ,, not on side stand.. great to get your feedback. thanks

    I took one of the bolts out of the bracket that holds the rectifier in place, when I removed that bolt from the starter oil started pouring out, I assume there is not suppose to be any oil in the starter? Lol

    Many years rebuilding starters. Hitting the starter jogs the wore out brushes that fail to make contact with the armature in hopes that they move enough to make contact. The marks on the armature are from wore out bushings or bearings which greasing will not repair and eventually destroy the armature. If going that deep to remove starter just replace both bushing/ bearing.

    Is there a place that you can buy new brushes and the end seal that in on the end of the shaft with the bearing? 07 victory vegas 8-ball

    What should you grease up in the brush area?

  • @manuelrivera6873
    @manuelrivera6873 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just wanted to ask about the area on the armature which contacts the brushes when fully installed. Back in the day when I worked in a foreign car repair shop we would take emery cloth to the commutator (the area on the armature) and make that are nice and shiny and then blow it off with compressed air. Very good video.

    I'm attempting this currently. But I have a v92c and the exhaust is being extremely difficult to get off. Do you have to take off the chrome covers just to get them off? Thanks for posting this video Rylan!

    Great video, Thanks. On my second replacement, would love to rebuild one, but one problem I'm running into is no part number listing for replacement bearings, bushings, etc. Could you possibly post a list of parts numbers you've found for rebuilding them?

      @340rps 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was surprised Rylan didn't say just replace them. After your comment I wondered if they were unavailable, If so now you need to buy a whole new strater. If you can remove them, bring them to a bearing dealer and they should be able to match them up. There is a great dealer where I live who has got me bearings I thought I would never get.. .....Otherwise take heed to what he says and as preventative maintenance go threw it every so often.

    Hi Ryan, can you do a segment on CVT vs powercommander 5.. Have you used before? Instant EFI tuning does it work> ie. Cobra powerpro fi2000.. The tune shops would go broke , is that why they are saying dont use? Your thoughts on Victory tuning? with pipes and air torque tubes...
