- Hornby TT:120 MK1 coaches are absolutely stunning models that are just begging for a few extras. Populating them is one way but for added realism. For some genuine magic add lighting that you can activate with a ‘Magic Wand’ and release your inner Harry Potter. All the MK1’s on High Fell have been upgraded with lighting. It’s an easy project and works out at about £4 per coach for the parts. The batteries are still going strong after 12 months. It does add a little weight. This should work with any coach. A little bit of trimming is needed on TT:120 Mk1 composite coaches to accommodate the battery holder.
Parts needed

I have no links with sellers/manufacturers and other components could work but these are what I have used successfully.

Good, honest, straight forward advice and the resistor being a great little addition. No blurring of how or, inflating an issue, to then bring on, to sell on a solution. Excellent 👍
Thanks Andy, I only make videos to share things I have done and show some trains running and generally have fun. Not in it to try and make money. 😁
@@HighFell haha it’s not great even if you do, unless it’s three a week with over 30k views.
Terrific tutorial.
Thanks
Looks fantastic! It's a project I'm wanting to get round to at some point on the Hollybush line, so I'll be coming back to this video for reference when I do mine. Thanks!
Will complement the lights around Hollybush.
Now, there's something worth thinking about. That could become a future project at some time in the future. It's a great tutorial video ....cheers James 🙂👍
Really straightforward and with good results 😁
@HighFell I've added it to my very long to-do list 😁👍
@@DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY A model railway is never finished 🤣, after developing first one in about 20 mins, these were rolling off the dining table production line every 10 mins including getting the chassis on and off, you guys will have no issues 😁
@HighFell we'll get there eventually, I'm sure. But I think my grandson is itching to get started on his 009 layout, so I guess that's going to climb right to the top of the list 😁👍
Good job
Thanks, I think lighting adds so much to models, buildings, rolling stock, scenes and it’s so easy to do with inexpensive components 😁
Most illuminating, very helpful tutorial 👍🚂💡💡💡
🤣 glad it’s helpful
Excellent tutorial - many thanks.
Regards, Alasdair
Thanks 😁
Well done, I like the rede switch idea. I have done all my OO coaches with the movement sensors, must try your way on my TT coaches.
I put details of place you can get the latching reed switches in description, the ones listed on various marketplace and auction sites are not latching (or not ones I have found) PS, I have no financial link to anyone 🤣
@@HighFell Thanks.👍
