Twisted Metal is a high-octane action comedy based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai), about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
When Sweet Tooth turns the match into a Free-For-All. Obviously, when the killer clown is in the mix, all bets are off.

It's straight stupid, imagine if Jason Vorhees was talking and wouldn't shutup about pop culture (like this version of sweet-tooth). Or if Freddy Kruger was a best buddy to someone instead of a burnt dream-demon pedophile. Making the serial killer mass murderer the comic relief is lazy writing.
This show put respect on Twister's name and I'm all for it.

@@raymondmaciel4047 He did had Harold as his Best friend, even selected stu and Mike for a reason, in the video game however the two drove hammerhead which was a monster truck they stole in order to compete in the tournament, the show however took a different direction.
This show is totally badass! The most outstanding tv show of all time. They should win an academy award or an Oscar 🫢😎💪👌🤘
Twister was my favorite during childhood, her special was interesting.
I was ecstatic seeing her in this show and is able to outpace a rocket missile.
I think it’s good that John, quiet and sweet tooth ended on a good note

I actually couldn’t believe how amazing this whole sequence was. Just to get twister as as part of the show was already amazing and then they give her such a sick scene man this show was so good

Gotta say, as a long time series fan. I used to prefer edgy Sweet Tooth from Black and Ps3. But now I'm just hoping he doesnt lose any of his good humoredness after them injuries and betrayals.
@@theguywhomakesthetrees2057Yeah I was originally hoping they went for the TM Black jacked and roided out Sweet Tooth that was more sinister and powerful, but after seeing the show, they did an amazing job in world building and it all fits in.
You can tell the writers played LOTS of TM games. The callbacks were freaking EPIC. And just like in the games, the machine guns do basically dickall.

For all the comedy and wackiness, this show did one very important thing; respect the source material.
Why I don't mind adaptations doing their own thing if they stay true to the spirit of the material they're adapting. Get people who actually give a shit in charge.
And now that we have the Fallout show (Which also does an incredible job too.), I’ve got a good feeling about more adaptions in the future.
Seems more and more people are beginning to realise: Hey, The Source is awesome on its own!!! Let’s keep what makes everything great about it while we work on something that fits into the real spirit of it!
Hard to really agree too much qith Fallout but it's ridiculous having to ifnore the heaps of other video gane adaptations that respected the source material just as much if not more so than either of these two did here. Weather be as far back as woth Prince of Persia or as recent as the Sonic Movies, Pokemon Detectivw Pikachu, The Last of Us, amongst others.@@CaptainFirespitter

This scene goes so damn hard, I was worried since they announced the show that sweet tooth and the other characters would just be like cameos but I think they nailed it, honestly might get peacock just to watch season two when it drops, also really hoping they drop a new game since the show is so successful

that is because he "likes" them in his own twisted way because they are the only ones who survived his show , mainly because Quiet was honest XD and Him and John share the same music idol , with Stone he has a personal vendetta because he ordered his men to kill Sweet Tooth's fans/posse

I didn't watch Twisted Metal for compelling storytelling and a master crafted narrative.
I watched it because I loved the games, and watching cars blow shit up, all while having a laugh at how retarded this world is.
The show did not disappoint. Was entertaining as fuck and looking forward to a second season.

Yeah, they certainly got the tone just right. That's always something I worry about with these adaptations, and this comes off like the folks involved played the games before.

I think the one thing I wanted out of this series was the cars being more important in the story. I know there are backstories for all the characters and lore, but the whole point of Twisted Metal is the cars. Dont get me wrong though, this was a great summer series.

This show is the example of how to do a video game adaptation mostly right(lets face it everyone would love a higher dose of TM brand ultraviolence) even if you are not slavish to the source, it shows more then enough respect and understanding of the source and can still wrap it into a new story while making it work i love it.

Yes, of course. That's always how it's done. The on-set performer says the lines as they are acting out the scenes and then later, they go in and dub over them with the voice actor.
