    I did one like this Wednesday. It’s hard to get this kind of fabric material but luckily I had some of a close match. You didn’t show fixing the cushion but I know how to do that. I noticed you sew around the pieces before you sew em together. I’ve never done that. Is it better or necessary? Sorry about Lucille 😢. Anyway, thanks for showing your sharp skills. Looking forward to meeting you one day !!😊

    Mr. Richard, when the seat cover is apart do you think it's a good idea to throw it in washing machine for customer before reassembling it? Or is it best to leave it dirty and let them have it detailed?

    My 82 Nissan 280zx seats were made out of leather scraps bought by the pound from a furniture manufacturer. Boxes of scraps are just fine for seats. I bought black carpet and black leather for the seats then painted the plastic and vinyl dyed the other stuff. Tan was not pleasing. The only thing wrong was the top of the dash was cracked. I screwed up and bought a cover for that but did leather around the gauges. I should have put great stuff in the cracks and done the whole dash leather. Seats were fine but wrong color and not leather. One piece headliner because they are easy in a hatchback. new not dyed but if I remember right origional was in 4 cross sections. Drove it for 2 yrs then dumped it but a good paint job and it might have been worth something.

    I gather that you believe that a fabric material seat is more durable than vinyl. Is this true? If it were your truck, what material would you use? Leather? What about a Harley Motorcycle seat?

    • @oldschoolautoupholstery
      @oldschoolautoupholstery  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kevin, All materials wear. Be it fabric, leather and vinyl. For a work truck vinyl would be best. I would only use vinyl for a motorcycle seat as leather does not do well in the elements and moisture. Please keep liking and watching!
