Kia ora from New Zealand I descended from Alfred and Ada Burnett of the New Zealand Line, I know my nana , sent a full genealogy back to Crathes, in 2000. During the settlers of Nz in 1800s the Scottish came in many ships, so I find this very enlightening, thank you so much. Mt Cook station in the south island has a gate with the crest and motto and Initials and in Cave, I was allowed to spread ashes on the land. Other family of the first Burnetts, A brother went to Wanganui, another brother went to USA. Only my oldest cousin has visited from our tree branch line, he said it was amazing. We haven't forgotten you, Sending love to you all.
A good overview for those who are new to the subject. Always nice to see Don Pottinger's wonderful illustrations. Glad that the Flemish origins of heraldry were cited, as well: until recently, it has been widely overlooked. We have Beryl Platts to thank for revealing much of that forgotten history.
Alexander Burnett is in my family tree. Hannah Burnett was my 2nd g-grandmother daughter of Cyrus Burnett, son of Robert, son of John, son of Robert, son of William, son of Thomas, son of Alexander Burnett of Leys. Amazing. Do I get a family discount?

If Robert the Bruce secured Scottish independence, why is
King Charles the Duke of Edinburgh? At some point, Scotland lost their independence…
he governs over, each castle costs millions to keep going, he doesnt own them.
This guy probably knows Obama’s last name.
