    Dear, one question, what was the return trip time from Hatyai to padang besar and would you able to catched the connecting ETS to KL?

    • @eatplayholiday

      Shouldn't be a problem catching the connecting train. Both Msia and Thai side have added more trains lately. There are at least 3 connecting trains daily now. U can get the timetable from eatplayholiday.com

    • @eatplayholiday

      It's about 30 minutes. But there is customs and immigration, and the time for that as it will depend on a number of factors. When I went, it took another 30 minutes for that. I would advise you to allow some buffer, just in case

    • @eatplayholiday
      @eatplayholiday  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did a quick search just now, it seems they have added another train at 5pm (Msian time) reaching Hat Yai at 4.55pm (Thai time). I believe this is the sleeper coach to Bangkok, stopping over at Hat Yai. It's a bit tight in terms of time if you arrive at 4.33pm, so maybe to check on accommodation in Pdg Besar as backup or if you travel in a group, catch a taxi or van to Hat Yai as backup. EDIT: i have found the official online train ticket purchase by the State Railway of Thailand that says the train depart from Pdg Besar Msia at 6pm Msian time arriving Hat Yai at 5.55pm Thai time. I think this should be more accurate. dticket.railway.co.th
      This is a new website. The railway co had just started this recently.

      Hard to say whether you will have enough time. 30 minutes maybe cutting it too close...it will depend on how long the q at customs and immigration, and also depend on the punctuality of the Hatyai train.

      Lebih dekat dari Penang kalau kira jarak. Tapi dari Butterworth tak ada tren terus ke Pdg Besar, mungkin kena tukar tren di Parit Buntar kalau naik ETS. Dari Butterworth ke Parit Buntar (1 tiket). Dari Parit Buntar ke Pdg Besar (1 tiket). Atau naik KTM komuter dari Butterworth terus ke Padang Besar

    How to travel from Johor Bahru (JB) to Hat Yai by train? Will it be one train ticket or two separate tickets? Thanks.

    • @eatplayholiday
      @eatplayholiday  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will be 2 separate tickets. JB Sentral to Gemas, and then from Gemas to Padang Besar. I have not personally taken this route before. I just did a quick check at the schedule, looks like there is only 1 train from Gemas to Padang Besar and the arrival time may not be ideal for you to catch the Shuttle train to Hat Yai. I think if I were to travel from JB to Padang Besar, the better option may be to take an overnight bus to KL and then take the morning train from KL to Padang Besar, then I will have much more options including getting onto the Platinum ETS train. Hope this helps.
