Basic SnS build for people wanting a more offensive approach: Rathalos/Rathalos/Rathian/Rathian/Kulu. Attack boost 2, wex 2, crit eye 2, burst 3, lock on. This remains the strongest raw armor build for sns until you reach g9 weaponry.
@@noob-kun7768 I'm glad you care enough to try to contest this, but Rathalos Helm/Rathian Gloves beat Kulu Helm/Kulu Gloves in effective raw until you're halfway through Grade 8, and for SnS Kulu/Kulu will almost never win as Burst is actually quite good for SnS. For all the other melee weapons, you can make the switch from Rathalos/Rathian to Kulu/Kulu once you reach around G9. You should be playing element by that time though.
Really good guide for the offensive + defensive playstyle, though there is one point I would like to add: The ultimate goal is to get good enough to not even get hit, so you can start running with the typical mainline meta of Wex, elemental/attack damage boost, crit eye, lock on, focus/concentration/burst. There won't be any health boost or divine blessing since your aim is to not be hit. Easier said than done, but the typical meta builds still work the best if you're going around 'speed running' the monsters while going on a walk/jog.
Probably doable with Greatsword. just spec into attack power and focus. maybe 5 attack power and 3-4 focus. not sure if it's possible to get 5 in both Edit: I was going through the skill and it's currently not possible to go Attack Power 5. The highest anyone can currently go is 4, but that involves the player having leather mail. Ideal Greatsword skills would probably be: Attack Power 3 Special Boost 3/Focus 2 Focus 3/Special Boost 2 Last Stand 2 OR Attack Power 3 Special Boost 2 Focus 2 Last Stand 1 Divine Blessing 4

I’ve been playing monster hunter for years and this game so far hasn’t disappointed. The developers are quick to patch bugs and the gameplay is rather simple. More weekend events would be great though so we got something extra to do and perhaps a crafting system would benefit the community for those extra items we have instead of discarding them 😊

Great Sword, I have been primarily using: G5 Pukie Head (Focus and Health Boost) G4 Anja Chest (Special) G4 Rathian Gloves (Lock On and Burst) Wanting! Rathalos Waist (Focus) Currently using Paloumu waist at G4 G3 Jyura Legs (Focus goes to 2 at G6) Really helps to use two Specials in any Hunt and boost the Damage. Might look at changing arms with future mons.

I want to experiment with different weapons and builds. Currently, I'm following the build you recommended, as in Monster Hunter, you can typically craft everything in the endgame, including base armors and weapons. I was wondering if this is also possible in this game.
Not sure indeed; most monsters would be far more difficult / longer to kill at the end of the game (because they have so much stars) I think I'll probably stay at 5 stars a while to gather materials more easily
I build this and struggling now. I am not pro but easy till 7*. I need to be lucky to slay even the Diablos at 7*. Same for the flying ones. If its in the air the damage is non existent and the timer runs out eventually. I have my weapon maxed at 7 and need the wyvern item to upgrade to 8. Thinking of swapping to ranged weapon.
First Dance is overlooked. Kulu is easy to kill at any level so I was able to boost it up to purple while still wearing grade 2 armor. Now I have leather chest piece at grade 4 but the rest are still at grade 2, and I’m able to kill 5 star monsters without much trouble. The game is telling me I’m underlevelled for these monsters but First Dance is putting in the work for me. I’m seeing people with far better armor builds than mine that are struggling with 5* monsters.
I just started this game a few days ago. Currently level 30 and having a tough time with 4* monsters at the moment. What's "First Dance"? I don't see that anywhere.
@@GIJosep it’s a Longsword, so should become available whenever you unlock that weapon category. It unlocks at HR 15 so you should have it by now. I’m still using it and it’s still putting in work for me.

Getting knocked down (0 HP) is the biggest problem cause you lose so much time and time limit is tight. Best thing is to learn to dodge, and don’t get over ambitious laying in your attacks since you can’t interrupt the animation. Most monsters only have 3-4 main attacks so you can learn them fast.
Healthboost doesnt contribute to a faster hp regen really, that is because you need 30% of your full hp to start a hunt. It always takes the same amount of time to regen that 30% of your full health regardless of how much full hp you have. So theoretically you regenerate more hp in the same amount of time but you always need to same amount of time to regen 30% or 100% of your health.
mine is slugger 3, attack boost 2, divine blessing 2, since i play hammer. and im still lvl 55 weapon grade 6. gonna save this build if i want to play sns later.
Have to disagree with TDS this time. The 9* monsters HP are insanely high (probably 8 times of the 6* you shown in the video), and you need to invest in full DPS build; otherwise, good luck on beating the 75 seconds clock.
Full DPS build like I said@@RealMrCure Good DPS skills like "Burst", "Weakness Exploit", element Attack, "Attack Boost" and "Focus" (for bow/GS). We simply don't have the luxury to waste skill slot on survival skills like "Divine Blessing". Goldtistic gave a good example on SnS. And, do target monsters with their main element weakness, which you need to build several elemental weapons in the late game.
It is but of course its slower progression because you are leveing multiple elements and armour sets. Will be far more rewarding in the late game though

As someone who is currently at 8* and plays sns. The build showcased here currently does not work in completing 8 star monsters. A majority of players that use the build in the video will most likely get stuck at 7*; those some who can keep their dps up will get stuck at 8*. Unfortunately, it's a waste of resources to invest in the build recommended in the video.

I switched to thunder sns (grade 6, rank 5) to kill 7* Rathalos. I completely switched to elemental set ups as soon as I got to 8* since I couldn't slay any 8*. I am now in chapter 6 of 8* and these are the 4 elemental sets I use: 1. : Tobi Sns, Rathalos Helm, Tobi Mail, Tobi Coil, Rathian Vambraces, Kulu Greaves 2. Rathalos Sns, Kulu Helm, Rathalos Mail, Rathian Vambraces, Rahalos Coil, Kulu Greaves 3. Jyuratodus Sns, Kulu Helm, Jyuratodus Mail, Jyuratodus Vambraces, Pink Rathian Coil, Jagras Greaves 4. Legiana Sns, Legiana Helm, Rathalos Mail, Rathian Vambraces, Legiana Coil, Kulu Greaves Tbh, if I had to start over i probably would have used the pukei knife instead of the girros knife up to 8* then switched to elemental sets. Would have been an easier climb.
after more than one month I still haven't gotten a 4* drop from Kulu, so I switched to the Rathian/Legiana/Rathian/Lumu/Rathian version, and I still get the divine blessing effect quite often while using the maxed out Girros SnS This build is amazing for, at least, the first 13 chapters, only occasionally needing elemental damage for some specific fights (in my case, the 5* Paolumu and Legiana)
The problem whit the High tier gear/armor as greatsword player is if u want use rathalos armor and have the 5 points in divine blessing u need to use Legiana greatsword :/ I am using Barroth Greatsword for now Its better stack 5 divine blessing or go rathalos armor asap?
LBG has it tough with a ton of skill tax, so your set is pretty inflexible. Tobi/Paolumu/Legiana/Jagras/Barroth will grant you Reload Speed 3 and Recoil Down 3, and a bit of rising tide from the coil. If you want divine blessing, use the Paolumu Coil.

you sacrifice giros sns for palumo in g8? I'm having a hard time if i keep my Giros sns because it too OP paralize makes me hit x2 cycle of combo when the monster is paralyzed. my brains telling me why do i need a bit higher attack rather than freehits x2 bombo cyle in giros paralyzed 🙄
You definitly don't want to invest in defense perks wtf is this bad advice ? Starting from rank 7-8 you need all the damage you can get or the timer will run out with the mob having still 90% of his health...
I believe it's every 3 hours they refresh. Or, so I've heard. It seems that way to me based off how often I see them update. Monster spawns run on the same 3 hour cooldown it seems.
@@ninjalawzo The giant cluster gathering spots are 3 hours; the nodes that require multi-tapping. The smaller gathering items your palico picks up could be 30 mins. I haven't really figured out those ones yet, but they seem to show up again when monsters refresh from my experiences. The only thing that respawns quicker than anything else are the smaller monsters that you use to build meter on.
Just don’t get hit. If your health is above 40 you can hunt the large monsters as much as you want. I’m HR34 and i haven’t put a dollar in, haven’t had to do any extra. Just beating the dog shit out of the mons
you get 5 potions for free every day and every 35 seconds -> 1% Health which means After 50 Minutes you got 100% Health (but honestly you don’t need always 100% Health, just gitgud)
@@VertigoProduction some corrections, it's 36 seconds per hp tick at 100 HP (speeds up if you have health boost to accomodate for the % increase.) and is 17 minutes from 1% to 30% hp. Also you can just do referrals, I have 70 potions I got for free.

This build feels like it might be lacking on damage- Especially around G4 or G5 to get past the monsters required to advance your main story

after more than one month I still haven't gotten a 4* drop from Kulu, so I switched to the Rathian/Legiana/Rathian/Lumu/Rathian version, and I still get the divine blessing effect quite often while using the maxed out Girros SnS
This build is amazing for, at least, the first 13 chapters, only occasionally needing elemental damage for some specific fights (in my case, the 5* Paolumu and Legiana)
How are you making the game so smooth? Whenever I play the game it is so slow that sometimes evading doesn't even register. Any tips pls?
is the hp+ regen really felt fast?? i wonder if i can use it just for regen my health and change back to my offense armor after it's full

Divine Blessing affects damage reduction when raising a shield?
The problem whit the High tier gear/armor as greatsword player is if u want use rathalos armor and have the 5 points in divine blessing u need to use Legiana greatsword :/
I am using Barroth Greatsword for now

This is so good! What armor would be good for bowgun?
LBG has it tough with a ton of skill tax, so your set is pretty inflexible. Tobi/Paolumu/Legiana/Jagras/Barroth will grant you Reload Speed 3 and Recoil Down 3, and a bit of rising tide from the coil. If you want divine blessing, use the Paolumu Coil.

@@ranielyfire i did. When I jogged with my friends the other day, it rarely spawned on me but my friends got plenty. This afternoon I deleted and redownloaded the game and all is good now, I spawn small monsters aplenty.

you sacrifice giros sns for palumo in g8? I'm having a hard time if i keep my Giros sns because it too OP paralize makes me hit x2 cycle of combo when the monster is paralyzed. my brains telling me why do i need a bit higher attack rather than freehits x2 bombo cyle in giros paralyzed 🙄

Mostly the head, some monsters are exceptions like Tobi tail or Barroth arms are weaker than their head

I believe it's every 3 hours they refresh. Or, so I've heard. It seems that way to me based off how often I see them update. Monster spawns run on the same 3 hour cooldown it seems.

@@ninjalawzo The giant cluster gathering spots are 3 hours; the nodes that require multi-tapping.
The smaller gathering items your palico picks up could be 30 mins. I haven't really figured out those ones yet, but they seem to show up again when monsters refresh from my experiences.
The only thing that respawns quicker than anything else are the smaller monsters that you use to build meter on.

If your health is above 40 you can hunt the large monsters as much as you want. I’m HR34 and i haven’t put a dollar in, haven’t had to do any extra. Just beating the dog shit out of the mons
you get 5 potions for free every day and every 35 seconds -> 1% Health which means After 50 Minutes you got 100% Health (but honestly you don’t need always 100% Health, just gitgud)
@@VertigoProduction some corrections, it's 36 seconds per hp tick at 100 HP (speeds up if you have health boost to accomodate for the % increase.) and is 17 minutes from 1% to 30% hp.
Also you can just do referrals, I have 70 potions I got for free.
