just to give you a perspective on typical weddings here in the PH. it's actually a grand event almost a whole day event at least for the couple and the entourage and family. a typical afternoon wedding let's say a 3pm wedding, preparations starts at around 7 to 8am, depends on how many bridesmaids and groomsmen are part of the wedding because hair and makeup takes time, usually around 11am photo and video shoots of the couple and their entourage takes place with their prep attires usually robes or pj's, bride and her bridesmaids are separate from the groom and the groom'smen. after that they get to dress up in their suits and gowns then another photo and video shoot on both sides, then together with their family. the shoot never ends until the bride walks down the isle. after the ceremony another round of post nuptual shoot with the entourage then proceed to the reception where in it's a whole program, and sometimes there is even an after party. there is also this thing called an SDE or same day edit where in during the reception an edited video of all that happened from earlier that day from preps up to the post nup will be shown to everyone like a movie. it's a service offered by the videographers you hire. Personally I think, one of the reasons why weddings are such a spectacle here in the philippines is because we are a very catholic country and the sacrament of marriage is a very big deal to the point that divorce is prohibited. We only have annulment and no such law for divorce, so once you are married, that's it, it's a one time thing, unless you have the money to file annulment or you have another citizenship where you can have your marriage recognized by the other country and get a divorce there where it's legal, or you are married in a country where divorce is legal then you have no other option. you can separate but not legally. just a trivia for you guys hihi.... to more wedding reactions!
