Why can’t Minecraft just be Minecraft. That would end so many arguments and debates on the internet. But hey, bedrock is getting spectator mode at least. That makes them a bit more similar.
On Bedrock, if you dye a sheep's wool, it will keep that color after it's sheared. In Java sheared sheep's stubble is always white, so you can't tell what color sheep you actually have until the wool grows back. That and the potion cauldrons are the two Bedrock features I miss most on Java :D
I know two more differences. 1) Elder guardians instantly apply and refresh the effect if you drink milk within proximity. 2) The mining fatigue animation is different in bedrock. Also, depending on whether you are underwater or above water, the animation also produces the glitch with the glass in Armor stand.

@@Smelly556 bedrock is on pc, consoles, and mobile. Java is only on pc. The difference is the language it’s coded in, as well as differences like in this video plus even more that didn’t get mentioned For ray tracing you need a pc with a graphics card that can handle it. Like an rtx card
The render distance is limited in Java but in bedrock it is different for the amount of vram your gpu has so it’s different for most computers same thing for the Rtx in bedrock you need a Rtx graphics card
The Java render distance cap is so large that reaching it would mean having a high-end computer. My mid-range can only do about 12 chunks before I have to optimize the settings
Fun fact: Until owners of one version got access to both (only on pc), I’ve never played Java before. So you can imagine how confused I was when I saw that running 8RC on Java is the same if not far more difficult than 64RC on Bedrock.
The Java edition of Minecraft is a lot harder to optimize than the Bedrock edition because of the Java programming language being garbage collected (and being a JIT/interpreted lang)
Oh but I forgot to mention why exactly you’ll not find Java edition on macOS or iOS or iPadOS: Java is a just-in-time compiled language that generates its instructions when the program is run. Apple does not allow software that has this behavior. Plus, Minecraft is already very intense to run, it doesn’t help trying to generate its instructions on slower hardware like the Nintendo Switch or Xbox 360.

As I have played both versions, I can safely say, please bring potion cauldrons to Java, being able to make a stack of tipped arrows out 3 regular potions is so much better than 8 arrows for one lingering potion.
They should also 100% give Bedrock the debug menu. It is such a useful tool for so many things, that I had become accustomed to having it on Java, then when i started playing on Bedrock I was severely disappointed.
@@thesquiddy2273 it would be easy for pc (since you can use the same button as on java), but bedrock is multiplatform, adding that to android, ios, Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox would be difficult
Fun fact: when you put a dripstone with water above it above a cauldron that's half filled with a potion the water from the dripstone drips into the cauldron and it gets filled. You have infinite potions :)
3:30 There used to be this strange glitch in Bedrock where if you push a chest into another chunk with a piston, it would crash the game. Luckily it's fixed now
Some honourable mentions: Java has servers. Bedrock has just a few public servers available (CubeCraft, The Hive, etc.) as well as realms. Java also has the updated combat system where you charge your attack with a sword. Their axes also deal more damage with a slower swing speed. In bedrock, axe damage is always 1 hit point less than its sword and they still have the old spam combat system. Thirdly, banners can be put on shields and used to mark locations on maps. This doesn’t exist in Bedrock Edition.
Both are good Both oh them have pros and cons But one thing for certain that some people often overlooked that and think is okay to belittle for using different versions
Bedrock player since 2016, here's my findings about bedrock that dont exist in java: 1. On bedrock, foxes can sleep on slabs, even if there is no block above that slab to lower the sky light level. (Its probably a reference to the fox sanctuaries irl where foxes sleep in wooden/stone slabs) 2. Bedrock has a much efficient chunk handler (and loader) than java (which means bedrock can run on potato pc's and laptops) 3. On bedrock, flying on creative wont give you that annoying "walking on ice" physics when you stop pressing the movement buttons (which means you can place blocks precisely in bedrock than java when in creative mode) you just stop instantly after pressing the wasd keys. 4. On bedrock, foxes follow you when you have a sweet berry on your main hand unlike in java where foxes just ignore you. 5. On bedrock, you can repeatedly breed the same pair of foxes over and over again anytime, unlike in java where you have to wait every 5-8 mins or so to breed the same pair of foxes again.
3. depends on wich you're used to being a java player and using creative often i can say that its not actually frustrating when you get used to it 2. we have optifine
bedrock has lots of problems displaying multiple entities on screen. I've noticed that it starts lagging way before java. usually that wont be an issue, but on bigger maps like a city that will quickly become problematic.
@@voidbite Bedrock has way better performance than Java + Optifine. I know because I have a potato PC and playing Bedrock I can have 4x fps than Java + Optifine.

as a person who has been using bedrock (Specifically minecraft PE) for my entire life until a few weeks ago... I just gotta say, it's just so cool to finally experience both computer minecraft AND Java edition after all these years.. :,) though, sometimes I would get a bit hurt when people would talk badly about bedrock... I only had Minecraft PE for all these years since I would always be too timid to ask my parents about getting it on my computer.. but I was able to get enough courage a few weeks ago, and now I'm able to experience Minecraft how so many others have for so many years.. Next goal, though, is to beat the enderdragon... genuinely. For all my life I've also never beaten the enderdragon without putting something like "keep inventory" or just going into creative to immediately get back to the end portal... but one day, I know I'll be able to do it :,)
You can use a fire aspect II sword to light tnt, campfires, and candles in Bedrock edition. Doesn't have to be a book, doesn't have to be JUST fire aspect. can have any number of other enchants.
The reason they haven't done that is because bedrock and java are made in different programing languages and each programing languages cans and cant's.
Yeah i played bedrock for a long time When i switched in 2020 to java I missed some of the bedrock features So yeah i wish they both had the same features
i only wish there were more possiblilities for redstone in bedrock, there should be an update where java and bedrock do a trade, bedrock gains java's redstone workings and quasi connectivity while java gets movable tile entities (chests, furnaces, you get the idea) and the ability to put any redstone part other than the redstone dust underwater
This video is exactly what I mean when I say that there are some Bedrock features that should be put into Java, and some Java features that should be put into Bedrock Let's keep going towards complete parity between the two versions!
Something funny I found with my friend is if you go on a super flat world, flat spot, or ocean you can give your friends resistance 4 so they are invincible then if you turn on an auto clicker or just hit them really fast with a knock back 2 sword they just go flying and it’s really funny.
3:36 I think the reason why you can't push containers in Java is literally because the code language makes it harder to implement. So they didn't implement it.
@@DieOrBeDead775 iirc Bedrock doesn't differentiate between blocks and block entities, so piston-moveable chests isn't so much a feature as it is a natural consequence of the way the game is coded. Java, on the other hand, treats blocks with inventories (block entities) as different from normal blocks, and so adding that functionality would require bolting on an inelegant additional system. The reason for the difference isn't really the language, it's that bedrock was built with the benefit of hindsight, so some of it's core systems are more robust and adaptable.

Java may be just more realistic, and Bedrock is more "styling" if that makes sense.
Mmmmm. Close. But I think you meant java is more in modding and bedrock is more on features.

Also ppl from Java like technoblade have been in older versions of the game (1.8) before the update because they don’t like it
Also the banner thing can be fixed by simple mod from the marketplace if you have 💰 or from mcpedl for free
I’m pretty sure if you just name a banner on Bedrock it works the same

Bedrock player since 2016, here's my findings about bedrock that dont exist in java:
1. On bedrock, foxes can sleep on slabs, even if there is no block above that slab to lower the sky light level. (Its probably a reference to the fox sanctuaries irl where foxes sleep in wooden/stone slabs)
2. Bedrock has a much efficient chunk handler (and loader) than java (which means bedrock can run on potato pc's and laptops)
3. depends on wich you're used to being a java player and using creative often i can say that its not actually frustrating when you get used to it
2. we have optifine
bedrock has lots of problems displaying multiple entities on screen.

If anyone is curious the reason why the 2 versions are different, bedrock is written in C++ while Java is written in, well, Java.
Something funny I found with my friend is if you go on a super flat world, flat spot, or ocean you can give your friends resistance 4 so they are invincible then if you turn on an auto clicker or just hit them really fast with a knock back 2 sword they just go flying and it’s really funny.
Conclusion of this vid: both versions are good
3:36 I think the reason why you can't push containers in Java is literally because the code language makes it harder to implement. So they didn't implement it.
No its easy
Why do you think that? Just a guess?
@@DieOrBeDead775 iirc Bedrock doesn't differentiate between blocks and block entities, so piston-moveable chests isn't so much a feature as it is a natural consequence of the way the game is coded.
Java, on the other hand, treats blocks with inventories (block entities) as different from normal blocks, and so adding that functionality would require bolting on an inelegant additional system.
The reason for the difference isn't really the language, it's that bedrock was built with the benefit of hindsight, so some of it's core systems are more robust and adaptable.
