@wasselpa you need to ask benji about audio when doing a tour🫣. Maybe even film and then do a walk through with us from your garage and you can insert interesting inputs from the guests . The vlogs are a bit too raw when outside of your home but maybe that's what makes you you 🤷🏾♀️
I very much enjoyed the slight change in format, having the owner there to answer questions and walk through with you. Great flow and very fun. Cheers!
As an artist, I love hearing Paige talk about art. She talks about pieces in terms of interior design and how pieces corporate into a room, not really in terms of the piece as a separate entity. That might sound like a neg, but it’s how a lot of buyers think of art. Yes they love the piece independently, but they also consider how it would work in their space. I would love if you (Paige) would talk more about art in conjunction with interior design - such a unique perspective!! 🤗
As a painter I often think about how a painting works within a home which is just part of me because of my personal and work history and I understand your comment. I'm still discovering things at age sixty-four which is fantastic and fun. I grew up in a home where my father was a design director for four major design firms in his career and so growing up in the 1960's with my dad's collection of furniture of the masters of furniture design had just engrained itself in me over time. I went onto being a senior graphic designer/ illustrator in major design firms assisting interior designers and architects and spent years doing that professionally, but I was always drawing and painting fine art as my side outlet. I wore many hats as well in branding design from clothing company design to publishing books. I'm now painting as an abstract painter which is something I never thought I would do because I was considered a contemporary realist painter and just through a conversation with another artist was told that I would be good as an abstract painter and I'm giving it a go and finding success in that. I love all kinds of art ad always have and I don't prefer one over the other and so my collection of art is very eclectic. I approach the idea of being an artist of more like being a builder. I have no fancy ideas about art and it's just how I breathe. It's my everyday thought process. I can't stand it when I see videos of millionaire's homes with unlimited budgets that just blow the interiors and have no personality or charm. The spaces look like commercial retail spaces and this video is a good example of the opposite. It's a collection curated of things a person loves and it works. Art does not need to be expensive to be great. It's about having a great eye for uniqueness and curation. I also taught illustration at the only remaining all women's art college in the country. It was truly special seeing young people succeed. We all learned together. I think passion is the key to anything. You have to love it.
I love your comment!! As a designer myself, sometimes I wonder how artists feel about their art being taken from its it's initial context in a studio and / or gallery to the home of collectors where it may not retain its same message or artistic intent and instead exists as decoration in the home of a buyer. I know artists put so much of themselves and imbue so much meaning into their work. Sometimes I felt like it was trivializing to choose art based on how it will look paired with other pieces in a room (especially when curatorial statements are often so high brow). Personally, I've always loved designing with and around art in a space. 1) Because so much art is just so beautiful and 2) because I love to be able to financially support the work of living artists.
I've been a fan of Ethan for a while so I was super excited about this. His home seems so finished and sophisticated. It looks "designed" but not overdone or pretentious. Refined but still livable is a hard combo to pull off and he nails it.
@@jjm10187 I think its good to look at it as taking inspiration, not attempting imitation. You don't need to necessarily go out and buy the exact make and model he has. You can still look for something similar with a similar color, silhouette, or vibe that is in your budget
If you have people who don’t want to be on camera for their episode I recommend doing a sit down off camera interview. Use that audio of them talking about the aspects of their home or even small details and put that over the home tour footage
I know this channel is an interior design channel, but I would love to see homes from other folks who are not designers (or interior influencers). I'm craving seeing a bit of clutter, a bit of naturally mismatched decor, a bit less overthinking. No shame to anyone who is a huge fan of Ethan's style, it's unarguably sensible and tasteful. It just seems to be missing a bit of heart, a bit of chutzpah, it's too controlled. Safe. As someone who lives in LA and knows this space costs a pretty penny in rent alone, it feels unattainable.
This! I assume familiar names draw bigger audience/views , but pretty much all the tours this year were ones I’ve see previously because they have their own platforms. Someone who gas brand sponsorships has nice furniture is a given. Would love to see people who work full time, but create space to live beautifully.
I mean I watch these because I like seeing beautiful spaces and I get ideas and styling inspiration. They do have heart to me. Just because it’s not how you live it doesn’t mean someone’s heart isn’t in it. I personally curate all my spaces and don’t have any clutter unless it’s styled. If you want to see normal cluttered spaces then go to a friend house or something?
@@starveartist I think it takes years of experience to go from being inspired by someone else’s style/work to creating your own. What I love about Paige and Kate is that even though they’ve got a style that they prefer, they are still very original, and their work feel authentic.
Out of all the houses you have featured in this series this has got to be my favourite one! Love every single item in it, totally obsessed with his space agey mirror! Love all of his art too! ❤
You can find great deals if you’re put in more time/effort. Especially large pieces it’s hard to transport so people are more likely to let those go for cheaper/free, like pianos. You can often find those for free bc people just want to get rid of it. If you’re willing to refurbish, you can also find lots of great wood pieces. As far as I can tell, I don’t think Ethan is a DIY girlie, he seems more willing to pay more for the convenience so don’t let his house deter you!
Call me delulu but why is Paige look SO CUTE with Ethan? Especially with the matching outfits and heart-warming convo going on. Or maybe it's the new format that makes the whole video better? Idk man this is just pure gold. Thank you for sharing this with us ❤
I’ve reached out to Ethan about three times to get details on the painting now in his living room. It’s been fun watching him put his space together! It was also enjoyable to see the three of you interact in their video. I hope you all do more together. I think this might be my favorite COTFH video.
Tour is awesome but Im finding the audio a little difficult ... especially when everyone talks at once. Love his guys stylewill have to check him out .Thanks Paige !
No hate but maybe the feedback is useful? I have to say this was a bit disappointing! I love his content (and yours) but the audio was poor - it’s difficult to hear/understand especially when two or more talk at the same time! It didn’t feel like having a third person added anything in this case. On a different note I would have expected more creative questions than “where is this from” for every single item - it’d be interesting to hear about styling, individual decisions, practical uses, inspiration, real life use, etc…
This was my favorite home tour so far! Having the owner on camera and talking about the items was really nice. Also I love that dog!! When their furry little head popped out from under the bed I lost it.
Am I the only one who didn’t like the format? Ethan has so much content out there I already know how he feels about his home - what I want to know is Paige’s unfiltered opinion which didn’t seem like she could give because he was always there and did a lot of the talking.
Im with you. To me it felt a little like it lost its uniqueness. The silence. The awkward talking to someone across the room you couldnt see. I loved that.
no one's talking about the most impressive style item in this video - Paige's pants. I MUST know the brand and style/cut name RIGHT NOW. they're so cute. I'm dying.
I really liked how you have Ethan on camera. I enjoyed the back and forth. It seemed more personal this way. Also I totally feel you on being picky about your socks!
I just discovered Ethan in the last year and omg, he is soo great. He's really so gorgeous like how can you have such good taste and be intelligent AND look like that? I'm dying over the space age mirror but it's $795 nooo
I loved this so much! I randomly discovered Ethan and you and became immediately obsessed!!! I feel like I’m a part of this little pod for some reason! 😂😂 you guys are awesome
The House Book is my bible too, my partner found this scruffy old copy in a second-hand bookstore and bought it for me, I instantly loved it and it's still my go-to book for interiors
I heard about The House Book 3 years ago, and then I forgot the title and author. It was not available anywhere, at the time - I just found it and bought it - Thanks!
Gurrl, you have a legion of gay fans so it’s finally nice to see someone we can relate to. We all love Kate but it’s time to do a “Men in Interiors” series!!
I´ve been seeing lately people hiding their technology (tv, computer, etc) under a piece of cloth and I just need to hear your thoughts on that. Love from Buenos Aires

So true! Some of my least favorite pieces end up doing well since buyers shop for art as decor and less often as personal expression

I follow him too, but it always seems kind of mid and bland, without any real voice or design intention

I feel like the "You sent me videos/pictures of your homes" series she does covers what you're asking for
Oh the puppy 🥰. I love that y’all let her live her best puppy self in this
The perfect crossover - Paige & Ethan. Ethan’s understated & sophisticated style is superb. A masterclass.
I am so happy this video is 34 mins long
Blondie is the star of this tour 🐶
obsessed with blondie, I want to squeeeeeeeeeze her
This makes me smile as I remember watching Ethan’s earliest videos and how inspired he was by Paige.
But he never seems to do anything fun or interesting. I'm subscribed and hoped for anything inspirational, but keep waiting

The energy is this is phenomenal and so infectious. SO fun to watch.
I watch this series just to gawk at how people can afford and choose to spend $xxxx on singular pieces of decor lol we are not living the same life.
Design tip: look like a model and get sugar daddies

Yeah investing in a portable mic (or 2) would be a great improvement.
yeah, i had to turn on the subtitles so that i can follow the conversation :D :D

I love that he brought out Conran’s. House Book! That was my husband’s and my bible for home design many years ago. I guess it’s still relevant.
Hopefully we’re able to see Rob’s home in the future 👀

well I'm making a huge guess but I think the painter's full name is Claudio Rodríguez Lanfranco and he is from Chile.
