that is normal, Amsterdam Schiphol is after London Heathrow the second largest airport in Europe I think, so that amount of traffic is quite normal there

Dave E Not true. Heathrow had 475K flight movements (landings and departures) in 2018. Schiphol had 499K flight movements in 2018. According to Wikipedia and Heathrow.com and CBS (dutch bureau of statistics), don’t know the exact numbers for 2019. So there are more planes to see at Schiphol than at Heathrow. And in freight Schiphol is third and Heathrow is fourth. You don’t see the passengers and the freight, you see the planes. And Schiphol has more planes, so there is more to see at Schiphol than at Heathrow.
Schiphol has 6 runway Charles de Gaulle has 4 Heathrow has 2 -Schiphol as more flight movements but with smaller planes -Heathrow has more long haul flight with bigger planes , and more passengers -Charles de Gaulle : 50/50
