I've got an x5m only because my dad has always owned mustangs all his life and I need an suv. I wanted something sporty and aggressive but something I can throw all my crap in. I looked at Jeep, Audi, Volvo, Merc and even Honda but when I found the BMW in my price range, I fell in love when I test drove it. It gives in to the power fantasy and but is accommodating enough for anything. I detail boats for a company and the SUV lets me keep all my materials in the back with instant access. I always get a kick out of people seeing me roll up with this thing. They automatically think of sophisticated businessmen and I get out with a bunch of crap on my clothes, sunglasses with compound all over them, faded shirt and work boots. Its a "that's not what I expected look."
@@uklmngubane5661 it was. I sold it to get a 330i. Nothing wrong with it when I sold it. Make sure you check the carfax before you buy one though. Lots of people beat them up.
How has your ownership experience been! I would love to pick up an X5M but just don’t think I can afford the gas that comes with it ahah , will be going for a 35d instead for that reason only.
Very thorough review, much appreciated! A few more external action shots would be great. Everyone loves a drive-by to hear the exhaust sound. Keep it up!
Just had one at a rental wow the thing was phenomenal. Super responsive and smooth transmission. M1 mode is wild and M2 mode is mental the cracks and bangs from 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th are insane
Maintenance is likely going to be on the more expensive side given my experience with similar Mercedes models. And when you factor in the M performance label, maintenance will likely cost even more. Reliability is also tricky. It's rated at average by JD power so it's not awful but it's also not a lexus
If you are a car guy like me I do all the work myself , love working on it even though I didn’t have to do anything except change tires and oil oh also brakes once at 60k
Consumer reports rates it 3.5/5 for the regular x5. This m version has the 4.4L V8 which could have a couple issues when they hit higher miles. Excessive oil consumption, fuel injector failure, leaking valve stems are some to note. Those can be fixed but the repair costs can be high for these vehicles
I actually haven't driven the supercharged range rover so it's hard for me to compare. I would imagine the reliability is a little better with the BMW but I don't know for sure
@@SchwayZ well the reliability concerns me aswell but I think the range super charger sounds better but it is not as quick as the Beemer, I am going to buy one and if that gives the slightest bother, I will sell it and go for this Beemer because I really finding it hard to make up my mind between the two, but have come to the conclusion that the range has more presence on the road than the Beemer
@@MrSupertings I had the Supercharged Range Rover and bought the BMW X5M and have never looked back. The BMW X5M is an absolute marvel to drive and the power is insane for an SUV. The X5M will walk away from Corvettes and bring you to triple digit speeds like no other. All while bringing your groceries home from the store. With that said, the Range Rover is an awesome vehicle as well, it's all about what you want and are looking for at the end of the day.
I’ve owned them both and would say buy the RRSS if you want a comfortable drive with the possibility for going offroad. You need it to be under warranty and the fuel economy of the supercharged vs the X5 M is about 40% better in the BMW despite of superior engine, speed and handling. The RRSS is a comfy SUV. The X5 M is a beast, basically a large M5 sportscar and accelerates, break and handles as one. I like the fact that most people think it’s a normal X5 but then it does 0-100km/hr (0-60) as fast as its generation M3. Only minus in my opinion is that the X5 M is a very stiff ride even in comfort mode, but that is part of owning an M car.
Did you seriously compare a BMW X5M to a Prius, RAV4 or Lexus (Toyota with cheap gold paint) RX? Are you serious? No credibility no idea, absolutely ridiculous to compare these in any way....🚮🚮🚮
The best looking X5m! Hands down!

After drove this car, I was telling myself, you only live once...live it
I just bought a 2018 same colour X5M in Canada on Friday, May 21st
It is super fast and so much fun.

@@prabeeshsidhu make sure you get the M edition of the 35D, then it at least looks like the real M car.

Just bought a 2018 black exterior with black interior. Love this car . Awesome .
Way cool! Congrats!

Is it just me or is the visibility terrible?
Excellent review. I'm thinking about one of these and this was extremely helpful.
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Good luck finding a decent trailer hitch setup for this vehicle. I own a 17’ and like it but a trailer hitch should come standard at this price.
Seriously dude it's a driver's car not a tow truck irrespective of the price - no idea
Amazing review! Very well put together!!!
Thank you brother! 🙏🙏🙏
CONSUMER REPORTS rates THE 2017 X5M for reliability is 5 out of 5 stars
Great review! I recently purchased a 2017 X5 35iDrive, but I want a 50i or an X5M.
Awesome! Thank you for watching!
The X5M is by far the best bang for you buck and is a beast😳
Expensive to maintain and reliability?

Thank you my man!🙏🙏 You as well!
I have this car, except mines in silver. best car I've ever driven
Just upgraded my 2013 X5M for this exact car. It's a fun little number to drive.
Thanks for the input Sarah
I have a 2013 X5M and thinking about doing the same thing. Do you regret the switch at all?
Nice bro! Love the color
How’s reliability ? Heard they have squeaky breaks as well

Not all m cars have those mirror actually.
Mine has lots more features and it’s a 17’ with more horses as well stock
Does it have Android auto
I don't believe so. I think only the newest 2022 versions come with those
