    I liked that old Zelda commercial with the guy freaking out lol it made me want to buy the game. I prefer SMB2 over 3 which everybody thinks I'm crazy but I find myself going back to play it so much more then the 3rd one. To this day I have never watched the Wizard, I think I should just sit down and watch it at least once. Metroid and Zelda are responsible for my gaming addiction to this day. Dragon Warrior & Final Fantasy hooked me on RPG's (although I wish they made more these days, I'd even love some new 2D games). Castlevania, Contra, Faxanadu, Blaster Master, Ninja Gaiden, Shadowgate & Ultima took up the rest of my time. I'm so happy I got to grow up in that golden age of gaming. Great video!

    The NES Console is the best console in the history of gaming ! I have a PS4 but I still wish I could have a NES Console again to play the epic games that made history . Games are not going to be as good as this epic games are . NES Era is the best and it will forever be !

    Almost 40 years now and the system still stands the test of time. I didn’t have a NES growing up as Sega Genesis was my first system in the 90s. My experience with it was playing it at cousins and friends houses etc. Now as an adult I’m able to go back and experience the games I missed out on as a kid. Truly an amazing system.

    I have a theory that the reason Jenny Lewis knew about the warp whistle in The Wizard is because she had a Honeybee adapter and a Famicom version of Super Mario Bros. 3 from 1988. She was clearly the most savvy person in that movie.

    back in 1986 the day I didn't know what Nes system was!? I was little at that time, from what I gathered in what little time I have left to live! the nes has always been a part of my life, growing up as I played more and more of these kick ass I was just as excited as ever when I heard more games of this genre is coming out on Super Nes, it didn't disappoint me at all, the very 1st Nes Boxing I got was with a Double Feature of Super Mario bros. and Life Force!! THAT WAS FUCKING EPIC and I still have them even to this day. I'm a fucking huge fan of every fucking game you can think up at any time and day, for me saving up and I still have a lot of money savings and I always wait for the right moment! to think that years later that over 3576 games I own to this day are gona be passed on to the next generation of my family and having to live these games was ONE FUCKING EPIC HISTORY THAT I SURE ASS FUCK!! WON'T EVER FORGET!! to this day I own and still have
    1. Nintendo 2. Super Nintendo 3. GameBoy 4. SEGA Genesis 5. GameGear
    6. Nintendo 64 7. PlayStation 8. GameBoy Advance 9.SEGA Dreamcast
    10. Nintendo GameCube 11. PlayStation 2 13. Xbox 14. Nintendo Wii
    15. PlayStation 3 16. Xbox 360, and they all work even to this day.
    I keep my games clean as a true Arcader kid!

    i was cracking up at the part were there all blowing into the cartridges man i miss those days! true story i remember me and my brother used to hop in the car with my dad when he would rent movies on the weekend and beg him to rent us a nes game it's funny cause we didn't have the slightest clue if the game would suck or not we had to go by the artwork on the box and that 1 or 2 pics on the back then whenever it was time to return the game he would always tell us to rewind it because they were going to charge him a fee at the store lol me and my brother would just stare at each other trying our hardest to not laugh at my dad trying to explain to him that cartridges aren't like movies ha haaa!

    This was a decent little flashback but I can easily tell which ones REALLY grew up with the NES in the "times" and those who might have played Mario a bit but still thought that videogames were for nerds or that they started playing NES around the Retro game boom in recent years.
    There are so many good games that are missed, simply because they're not the mainstream titles.
    And I defend The Wizard to the max, it's SUCH a great nostalgic movie.
    How can you be a 80/90's NES fan and NOT like it?!

    The thing about the cheap tricks to inserting NES games into the console is that they ACTUALLY WORKED! I always did 9:23 with a little wiggle at the end (after blowing the living hell out of the cart of course). Sometimes I would even insert another cart on top of the one already inside to keep it pressed down. Lol! There was something strangely satisfying about the struggle to get NES games to work.

  • @blackroostercreation

      A clean cart with clean connectors inside your system, goes a long way. My NES was bugging out until I cleaned each cart and replaced the connectors. Now it works flawlessly, every time I load up a game.

    People called those cartridges tapes because of those 8 track cassetes that you used with similar way to their systems that was front loaders as well.Don't tell me that you all knew how those worked always back in the day,some also thought that the whole casing was filled with the game board and was only a small circuit board while the rest was a freaking handle to insert it to the system.The fact remains that we all wanted a freaking nes end of discussion!

    • @TortureBot
      @TortureBot 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      SchwartzBwithU I actually made a game called Rabbit Hunter for the Commodore 64 around 1990 and it played a little like Duckhunt on the NES. It didn't have a zapper but you could use the joystick and move a set of crosshairs around the screen to shoot a rabbit that your dog was chasing and each level the rabbit would get faster. If you accidentally pressed the joystick button when the crosshairs were on the dog, then you would hit the dog and he would hold his chest and fall over dead. I think I programmed it because I was frustrated that you could not kill the dog on the Nintendo version of Duckhunt. It was actually a pretty good game and I still have it on a disk in storage, but I remember my SID chip was bad on that Commodore 64, so I never got to program sound for it. Still played pretty good and got so fast by level 10 that you pretty much had no chance of shooting the rabbit before you ran out of bullets. I need to put a TH-cam video up showing that one day.

    Around 8 minutes when he talks about "illicit ways of procuring games" - I definitely identified with that, though I was too young and innocent to do that with NES games, I certainly did with SNES. I used to take the cartridge apart and take the chip out, replacing it with something that looked similar on the connects -- Ended up getting quite a few games that way and the rental shops never caught on.

    • @AdamsOlympia
      @AdamsOlympia 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Allen A lot of kids really get into the classics ! They might not be impressive graphically, compared to all the modern stuff -- but they shine where it's most important: gameplay..
      Favorites: NES: Solar Jetman. Mike Tysons Punch out, Zelda 1 , Final Fantasy, Super Mario 1, 2, 3) , ..
      SNES: Zelda Link to the past, Simcity, Pilot Wings, Super Mario World 1, Final Fantasy 3, Street fighter 2, F-Zero, Mario Kart, On the ball, Mystical Ninja , + quite a few others I'm not thinking of atm.
      It's actually been years since I've played any -- but just thinking about them makes me want to load up an emulator right now. (Sadly I don't have any of the original consoles at the moment) ..

    My best friend and I let another one of our friends play Super Punchout on SNES back around 2002-03 and it was his first time playing it and no joke he lost to the first guy, Gabby Jay. I remember it showed that guy's record when he would first come out and it was 1-99 and to this day my friend and I joke that his record is now 2-99 lol.

    3:00 in the arcade version of Duck Hunt, There's a bonus round where the dog jumps up and you can shoot him... It's so satasfying.

    I must be the only one that was disappointed with Mario 3. I didn't like 1, but I freaking loved 2. So, I was pissed that there wasn't like a sequel to the modded Doki Doki Panic.

    to answer ur question yeah i did say s.n.e.s. cuz my friends called it that, game reviewers called it that. Nintendo called it that in their promo videos for short.

      who cares what they look like. and yes, they're "rambling" about nintendo. what did you think this video was about?

    • @patrickandrews1692
      @patrickandrews1692 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      to be fair though I think the video is mislabeled. this isn't really a documentary, it's more like a bunch of personal recollections of when NES came out.
