I worked as a RSO in a large, busy public range for 3 years. I had many situations where firearms (loaded and unloaded) were pointed directly at me. Used to make me so angry. Management needs to be supportive of just throwing them out of the store.

The one that had the firearm pointed at him is our general manager, he was so flabbergasted he didn’t kick the guy out. I’m the owner and I 100% would have supported that decision.

Holy shit, brother. As you know, I’m in there occasionally… And I have frequently wondered how often your staff has to deal with this nonsense. As a CV myself, I would’ve been hard-pressed to remain a passive and polite customer at that moment. Well done.

For one, that guy has no right to a CHL due to the fact he blatantly does not know how to handle a hand gun !! Never cleared the weapon first and handed it pointed at Adam rather than butt first. Hate to say it but that guy should have CHL revoked and be banned from that store!!!

WHY does that $#@&! even have a gun if he doesn't know the first thing about safety??!😡

I’m a retired police officer and I agree working in a gun store is a PTSD trigger…people are just not aware

We are a fairly new FFL. I was shocked to see how often this happens. It’s very dangerous. We just hired a newly retired air marshal. He would have probably shot that guy as well. Thank god everyone was OK.

    Hey Luke,
Could you say/write a few words about how the customer could have better handled himself in this situation? If he had told Adam that he was going to draw his handgun, and the reason for doing that (to show him something I presume), would this have still been an uncomfortable situation? Honest question from someone who hasn't been taught the etiquette. Thx.

The employee was talking to the customer that pulled out the pistol, should have some idea of the intent of the customer. I believe the employee would have faced harsh consequences if he shot the customer in this situation.
