    I think the biggest issue is shooting. You have Alperen Şengün. If double team doesnt come, Alperen will make bucket. If double team comes, Alpi will pass the ball to outside. If you dont have shooters, this offence does not work. Get to the team shooters

  • @DWonYT
    @DWonYT 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hierarchy long term:
    Sengun: primary initiator
    Reed: point guard, makes good reads, elite shooter, I believe him and Sengun will have the best gravity in their two game.
    Jalen: versatile third option. I think a dho with reed spacing, and Jalen driving will feed families. Plus he pairs well with either Sengun or reed. When he doesn’t have the shot going he can make simple reads and defend at a decent level.
    Amen: until amen can shoot in any capacity I think he should be a defensive monster or a transition threat with Jalen. LOVE THE ENERGY!
    Tari: defensive menace, able to hit the open shot. ENERGY WNERGY WNERGY AND BIG PLAYS!
    Tbh I’m kinda on board to trade cam and Jabari at this point. They seem like they need to be bigger parts of the option to be their best selves and they do not fit in their role on this team. Unfortunately because I love both the dudes as players but that’s where I’m at now. Part of the causality of having so many draft picks.
    The vets to me are stand ins for reed, tari, (and hopefully a decent, reliable l backup 5 in the future)

    Y’all’s analysis on Reed is spot on. He’s actually a very underrated defender. I remember Warriors were switching Draymond onto Reed in the post and he was not afraid to check him with his frame. He doesn’t get shaken off easily and he has good hands. It seems he has also has good instincts on both ends of the floor.

    The Rockets are getting good enough to demand double teams. Sengun has been getting doubled I think from the second game of the season. The Knicks made a mistake not doubling Alpi. Golden State doubled Jalen at least in the first quarter and it seemed to take him out of the whole game. I think the Rockets and the coaches are adjusting to what teams are throwing at them. Plus the players are just starting the season slowly. Once everyone gets up to speed, we will be better. These guys gave a lot to learn.

    The problem is that the starters are paid so much and playing so bad (besides Sengun), if they could just experiment with starting the bench (keep sengun and Bari in), and see the damage they could do with Amen, Reed, Tari, Bari and Sengun, that would be peak team ball and lockdown D (yes, Reed has clamps). I feel like Ime is being pressured by the FO to keep letting FVV and Jalen call the shots despite both of them killing the whole flow of the offense with their shot chucking consistency. Honestly, I've never seen a team with 2/3 bench players so obviously better than the starters, since the Clippers with Lou will and Montrez. If they don't act now, it's a play-in appearance at best. No time to keep this same offense with how stacked the west is.

    OKC game is coming up after Spurs. We know that OKC is one of the superior teams in the league right now and we have a great chance of a loss. So why don't we try a new line up as a starting five in that game. Reed, Jaylen, Amen, Tari and Alpi. I think that's the game where you should test a new starting line up.

    Meh! The contribution of entire team has historically has been a characteristic of success. I normally agree with you both, but not today. Amen is a point forward, and you want him to shoot otherwise you'd have a ben Simmons, Jason kidd had amazing impact without shooting. The problem imo is Dillon, if he is replaced by Amen you'd have more pace and defense. The other issue is a the coach. No sets for Jabari, we don't play through Seguin enough, make Jaylen move without the ball. The games we lost was because of coaching. Amen is not a 4. Lastly, Cam's issue imo is not playing, i like reed, but he shouldn't come in before cam. I think it hit affected his rhythm. And he as 6 man talent, should be replacing jaylen when subbed. It's early...

    FVV and flirting with the unforced 8 second backcourt violation, name a better combo.

    You guys are too nice. Jabari is soft. Plays smaller than his height, has no lower leg strength and explosion (so he gets blocked by the rim sometimes), and has real confidence issues when it comes to his shot. Udoka should tell Jabari to start doing some jiu-jitsu sparring or some shit during the offseason. Tari is the better player full stop. There will come a time pretty soon where if we continue to give this preferential treatment to Jabari over Tari, Tari is going to get pissed and potentially leave the Rockets.

    Donovan Mitchell figured it out. No need to do extra until it's needed. Allow your teammates to get involved and get in the flow. Why takeover if it's not necessary? Problem with the Rockets is Jalen Green basketball IQ is trash. Opposite of competent. But because of his paycheck, you have to pass him the ball. His inefficient non playmaking sometimes defense style is hot garbage. Trade Jalen Green. 70% of the issues will be solved.

      he's doing way better this year with his IQ making better reads and he's become an actual clutch bucket throughout the game.. You actually see the dog in him this year whether on def or offense too where prior his motor used to be questioned. I think he can settle a little less by driving more earlier but I feel like the statistic heavy rockets want him shooting more 3s
