    I totally agree with Roosh. You can replace Jalen only with Amen on this current roster. Anyone who knows ball already knows that Cam is not even an option, and if you replace him with Tari, you just don't have enough guys to handle the ball. When you replace Jalen with Amen, you instantly get better on rebounding, defending, handling, playmaking, transition offense and defense, efficiency, rim pressure. And there's so little you sacrifice for all that since Jalen doesn't really provide any outside shooting anyway.

    • @amb86

      It will be interesting, on the one hand jalen is horrible statistically shooting the ball, but he still draws defenders unlike amen who defenders are happy to sag off.
      In the end, the sad part is both jabari and jalen sucks at open catch and shoot, but are decent for tougher dribble pull up threes or stepback threes

    Great pod guys. I have held out belief that Jalen would break out this year and to say I have been disappointed is an understatement. he started the year on a good note and has fizzled ever since. it doesn't help that Jabari's play has also regressed. I agree with both of you that our defense is good enough to win. we have got to find someone to fill the shooters role. we are generating wide open looks and tossing up bricks. on the nights someone is shooting HOT we are a force. on the nights we can't find that person we struggle. the way we are built we must get offense from our guards to balance Alperen, and we have not gotten that on a regular basis from either FVV or Jalen. we have got to get better guard play to take the next step IMO.

      Emerging has also regressed. The paint is getting covered because he holds the ball to long. Can’t make a shot because he can do anything if he can’t spin. Also as missed many open players.
      The big problem for the offense is that it’s stale, every team, with the exception of Cleveland, only focuses on shooting the three so teams are going defend that.

    Jalen with that kind of 3-point shooting will kill the Rockets. Rockets have been trying to make him a star and build the team around him for the last 4 years and but it will not happen at all. Ok, he is electric when going to the rim but one team cannot live with that sort of amusement only. Fred is a disaster this year as well when it comes to shooting. If he is having a bad night he should not take shots. When Alpi kicks out the ball neither Fred not Jalen can score, so Alpi takes the job in his hands but how can one expect him to fight with a lot of opposing players against him in the paint. I am just worried that he may injure himself in the coming days if the process goes on like that.

    • @pon372
      @pon372 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I am 💯 percent in agreement with you. The reason Alp shooting percentage has dipped is cause he’s trying to score with double teams because he’s the only offense now & when he kicks it out to Fred and Jalen they’re bricking the shit out of the ball. Now Alp is working way too hard and may get himself injured.

    Jabari has never gotten the volume of a #3 pick. If Jalen moves out of the way, Jabari could ascend. I watched it at Auburn, summer league, end of games - whenever he needs to be the guy, he is the guy. Gotta stop making him the 4th or 5 option if we want better offense

    • @AbundanceBuild
      @AbundanceBuild 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @bastadimasta from the corner you can only cut baseline which he does regularly when Alpi is at the elbow otherwise where and when is he going to cut? You're assigned to the corner for floor spacing. That's about half the shots Jalen gets. Everything is run for by and through Jalen. Jabari just gets random rebound putback "shots" and 3-5 corner threes. It's obvious his usage percentage is low.

    Rockets offense right now is Alp and the Terror twins. Their shooters can’t shoot. What it does is make their offense very predictable. If you can stop Alp and match the Terror twins energy you can beat them easily. You can’t just rely on energy or defense to win every night.
    Rockets need to make a trade or changes to their starting backcourt cause it’s none existent on offense. The starting backcourt is their weakness and needs to be addressed if they want to live up to the expectations they set for themselves.

      @RawMcRaw 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pon372 How he a bust to yo random ass, but not to the franchise? Sit yo goofy ass down. He's inconsistent because of his shot diet and when he shoots the ball in our offense not because he's bad hoe. We depend on him to finish possessions, not to create his own shots so that he can get into a rhythm, we play slow and methodical that also doesn't bode well for him. When the rockets are playing at a faster pace he is consistently better and so is the team. When the game goes thru Sengun he's worst and so is everybody else honestly I feel like it slows down the game too much when we try to force every action from the mid post. It just becomes a game of monkey in the middle and realistically we don't have the shooters for that, which is why our offense looks like hot garbage because it's easy to key in on Sengun and not have to pay for coming off of your man. That's why we have to rely on Amen and Tari so heavily to create things out of nothing because usually we don't have a leg to stand on offensively, literally our defense is our offense. The reason I say wait until the playoffs is because there is purpose to it and I believe Jalen lives for meaningful games, like I don't think we are seeing the best out of him every night as if he picks and chooses what games to be up for, but mainly because it's the playoffs. His ability to score in one on one situations is definitely going to be a factor especially if the Rockets are to go any further than we think. Most elite scorers are born in the playoffs not during the regular season and for a shifty guard like him it's gonna be a terror trying to stop him for seven games. Really the only team I see being a problem for him is Minnesota if we play through him. Playing thru Sengun is a tougher game because everyone has bigs in the west and team concepts that can take us out of the game but when the rockets play fast then we impose ourselves. Wait n see

    I don't care about the numbers so much, I care about players choices. Coach takes a time out, draws a play and gives the ball to the jalen than jalen just doesn't takes the screen from sengun and runs in to the crowd. That's just unacceptable.
    They are cutting down Fred's touches for Jalen, they are drawing plays for Jalen, they are doing a lot but Jalen just doesn't take what they are giving.
    He needs to understand that behavior hurts him the most.
    Now Fred feel's betrayed, he thinks team is not gonna pick his option and Sengun thinks even he is the best player in the team, they don't want him to be the best player.
    And young guys are looking at the situation and thinks if you're talented, if you have a big potential, than teams will pay you even if you play the wrong way.

I've been scouting the Talent for the this Draft ... and there is a HUGE fall off after Cooper Flagg & Dylan Harper !! Other than Flagg (and maybe Harper), I don't see anyone worth Houston's time. I was high on Ace Bailey but "he ain't it" in my opinion ... and chances are slim to None for the Rockets to have a Lottery Shot at Flagg (cuz the 76'ers are horrible & the Wizards are tanking hard AF) .. Rafael Stone covets the 2027 NBA Draft, and Now I see WHY !! Cuz the Rockets could potentially have TWO Top-5 Picks in this Draft, and the 2027 Draft has got some Dudes (like Tyran Stokes looking like a Light Skin Zion Williamson w/ a Jump Shot). So I gotta "Give Flowers" to Rafael Stone cuz he clearly knows WTF he doing !! .. In Rafael, I Trust !! For Real

    FVV (or Jalen if they prefer) + Cam W + Phoenix picks for Dearon Fox (or Trae Young or Tyler Herro).
    If this not possible, then I would try to get Markannen with a trade centered on Jabari so that we can improve shooting and offense that way.

  • @KyouOneZilla
    @KyouOneZilla 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've been holding onto this since last offseason and potentially this coming offseason because us Rockets fans hate any trade proposal that would have to involve at least 1 or more young core player just out of hand. And Rightly so because the trades are so lopsided they're usually ridiculous. But I would like the Rockets to take a long long long look at Trae Young. Particularly in the offseason.
    Despite all the hate Trae Young gets, he's a good shooter and a great passer. His main critique is his defense, but if Ime can turn Jalen into a decent defender he can turn Young into one as well. We are also probably one of the few fan bases that won't turn on a Coach for benching their star player if they don't play defense. From what I've seen with Trae Young's defense, it's not a matter of not trying on defense, he just doesn't seem to know what the fuck he should be doing. I think he'd thrive in Houston and remember how everyone trashed Dillon Brooks and how well he's done for himself here. I think it'd be a similar situation for Trae Young.
    Again this is more of an offseason move because our current identity revolves around defensive team chemistry and that's something that will crumble quickly after a major trade.

    • @KyouOneZilla
      @KyouOneZilla 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And again, I get why people don't like Trae Young, and unless he ends up on the Rockets I will also choose to not like him. But I think his skill set matches up to what we need and he's been very consistent in those areas throughout his entire career. I'm not saying I'd trade the farm and the house for him, but there are possibly reasonable trade packages out there that don't involve Alpi and the Terror Twins.

    Jalen Green does not look like a person for the Rockets. In one game, an assistant coach is walking down the Rockets bench during the game shaking the hands of the players, but the assistant coach seems to purposely not shake Jalens' hand. Jalen gives him a look and says something, and then the assistant coach reaches back to shake Jalen's hand. (Ref Portland Trailblazer game.)
    If the Rockets trade Jalen Green or Cam Whitmore, it will be one of the worst trades in history. It will be like the Tennessee Titans trading A.J. Brown for a replacement receiver and a draft pick.
    Jalen has all the skills and more as Micheal Jordan, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant; however, Jalen does not have the mental toughness and the alpha male mentality. Jalen seems to be more of a Sigma male.
    But if the Rockets trade Jalen, it may signal to the team that no one is safe. Why trade Jalen and Cam and draft picks for a thirty-something star like Jimmy Butler, Kevin Durant, or Devin Booker when they are at an age where they are always injured/unavailable.
    Find out what motivates Jalen and execute the motivation. The same goes for Cam Whitmore.

    Jalen needs Sengun to be a strong screen setter for space. Defenses already pack the paint with 1: our shooters aren’t great 2: Offense is basic 3: Sengun and Jalen are threats getting to the rim. Sengun uses his screen as if he’s a lob threat. But he isn’t. It’s not the best decision everytime he sets a screen to roll with the guard. Your job as a screener sometimes is to get your guard’s defender out of his way. Sengun doesn’t do that really at all, look at how Sabonis/Jokic sets screens for Murray/Fox they aren’t rolling with them every step of the way. They sometimes hold Murray/Fox defender to allow Murray/Fox to attack downhill 1on1 with the opposing center. WATCH when we play the Nuggets/Kings you’ll see the difference in how they screen compared to Sengun.

    • @RonnieTon
      @RonnieTon 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Adams does an amazing job with getting Jalen open with his screens and attacking downhill. Ja with Adams was a beast because once Adams hits you it’s 1on1 with their big and Ja going downhill. Everyone went under the screen vs Ja and he still got buckets not SOLELY due to Adams screens but it does play a major role. Rewatch the games where Adams plays with Jalen and look at how open he gets Fred Amen and Jalen. Not the result but the effectiveness of his screen

    There going away from SenHub becaue its predictable, yall act like every team that has bigs dont give us problems. Please lit Amen on the starting lineup so we can see just how tragic our shooting is. We will lose games, how tf can you be an off ball terror if you cant shoot on a roster that is on interior based. There would be no spacing. Roosh says what does Jalens spacing amount to? Wins stupid put anybody else in the other than reed and your theory is trash. The truth is our starting line up needs a mass swap out start Reed, Jalen, Amen, Tari and Sengun. Then Amen is in his natural position. Reed will make consistent shots and assist. Amen will push the pace and make the correct passes while scoring efficiently from the dunker spot. Tari gets his buckets because hes Tari and Sengun is baby joker. And yall act like all the shots were made for Jalen to take, a lot of his shots are not coming with in the flow of the offense. He is not a catch and shoot, 6 seconds on the play clock guy. Hes a rhythm guy he needs the ball to create not just an unlimited amount of shots. He needs to dribble into his shots like Kobe, he will never be Book get that shit out yall head. You cant judge a Dog on its ability to fly it doesn't make sense that would be like if we put Segun on the perimeter and got mad for him being inefficient thats not how he plays. Same thing with Vanvleet, hes is being judged on doing what he isnt good at. Numbers do not show the game and the ebs and flows of what happened. The other day Jalen started 5-6 and was hooping, ime moved away from him and he shot poorly for the rest of the game. You cant base everything off of numbers our guys arent being used properly any of them. Like Jabari is probably the second best shooter on the team and has zero sets im tired of watching us win games off of just defense.

    But Reed a rookie and Aaron Holiday can have that tunnel vision.
    I wouldn’t mind starting Amen with his defense and he a monster in transition
    I would be open in Jalen coming off the bench
    But let’s go to Frank saying here.
    Politics because they not going to bench Jalen Green if they bench him it won’t be long until we hear certain noises from agents and other stuff behind the scenes. But if I’m Ime that shouldn’t matter you got to do whatever it takes to win
    I guess another thing with Jalen Green he can do some things with Steven Adams off the bench with the pick and roll.
    So yeah we need to get better at shooting and I don’t know know how your going to fix it unless you do the other options like I said.
