It’s my first year growing tobacco, so far so good. The plants are 3 foot high half way through the Southern hemisphere summer season so I’m happy. Your video series has been a great source of help. Love your presentation style and your accent reminds me of Aldo Raine from Inglorious Bastards . Big thanks brother, regards from New Zealand.
This is my first go at growing tobacco and I found your channel while doing research. Thank you for the helpful tips! I've definitely learned some important things from ya. I've got a couple Virginia varieties, a Burley, several Orientals and some Rustica in the works. Here's hoping I don't screw em up! Glad to see the update and glad to see you are still having great success. Cheers!
What happens if I have leaf from a farmer, I pull as much air out as possible and then freeze it? Will it stop or slow any mold issues ? It’s been cured and a little moist. The leaves are scrunched and folded over where they are more moist inside those folded areas. Do I need to unfold them before I freeze or fridge those leaves?
I wish. Here in Australia a 50g tin or pouch is between $150 and $160 for most brands. Excise duty on tobacco is nearly $1,900/kg, making the duty component of that 50g around $90. Growing your own is of course illegal.
Don't normally do comments but must say your the best channel to learn growing/drying/curing tobacco out there, my question is, I have a lot of bright leaf, sadly my gold leaf got moldy curing the curing process, my red leaf is drying out slowly but still fairly green, what can I do to help myself here? And if I age my bright leafs would they become less harsh?, I get a harsh and sorta like a dry burn with them even tho they are not dried out
Mine is just starting to get planted out, not even going to have enough space for it all so I'll plant some out in the wilderness which will hopefully multiply by itself. Some of the plants I put out were a bit small but something was eating the leaves so I just bombed the whole area with tobacco plants, hoping to spread out the damage or else provide some tender young decoy leaves while the older plants can get themselves established unhindered. ;)
Something happened to our Smokin' Pipe Channel creator and host with the most 11 months or so ago...which would put it in the spring of 2022. It would be awful nice if whoever is still collecting his YT advertising money would stop by and leave a note about what happened. S'PC, so happens, all told, created the finest homegrown tobacco tutorial on TH-cam. People will be referencing it for as long as there is a YT. S'PC is my goto. He set the outline and pattern I will use for my roll your own homegrown tobacco experiment for 2023.
Is it possible to get an edited version of a "Seed to Smoke"? Ya know? Show a bit of the seedling stage, show a update of veg stage and any amendments or feed, show the fade of the plant and you picking a set of yellowed leaves, show the dry/color cure room and share the RH & Temp and whether you keep it dark in the room or light. Show the cure/fermenting and share the RH/Temp and whether you keep it dark or light and the time frame. As well as stages that you burp/vent CO2 from jars/containers. How often do you open, how long do you leave it open and how many times per day/wk/month etc. I only ask because I've watched your videos and each one, especially the older ones, seem to have information you don't seem to agree with anymore and you have also learned a lot more. I think a nice rounded video would suit us all well if you wouldn't mind taking the time. I sure appreciate the time and effort you take to make these videos and I hope my suggestion doesn't come off as rude or disrespectful. Certainly wouldn't be my intentions. I'm just not that great with people's feelings and understanding when I've crossed a line. Just trying to be helpful for you, me and others.
I’m a rookie .. scored 6 tobacco plants this week and I got a lot of learning to do. A pkt of Marlboro 20’s is $60 here in Sydney 😩 I just realised 2 of my plants have flowers .. I think u call them suckers .. i’l pick them off in the morning 😂 I just got one question .. I smoke a lot of tobacco .. how do I get seed or sprout more .. do u have a link?🔥🔥
Sadly i had a complete failure this year in germany. All my cigar variants were eaten by slugs besides that it would have been an superb year for growing it was so hot and dry that all of the tomatos easily growed in the field without problems i would have even managed to harvest melons i would have planted them. My tobacco from last year is still resting and while lower in nicotine the tobacco tastes much more aromatic than all of the pipe blands i have tasted up to this date. My virginia for example is much sweeter than commercial tobacco and even some raw tobacco i bought from italy. Maybe it has a canadian vibe to it because it was a realitvly wet and cold year as i growed it but thats only my assumption because i have never tasted canadian virginia and only read about it.
Can’t tell if you’re an American with a really fucked up accent or a kiwi that doesn’t wanna get in trouble for growing tobacco 😂 either way keep it up bro! Love watching the videos! Would also love to know what tobacco would work best for rollies? Can’t seem to find much information
Yes something happened to Smokin' Pipe Channel fellow. Having a hearty imagination, well, I have lots of theories. It's still the best tutorial on here so I'm going to post my efforts here. 2023. I planted 4 varieties of tobacco, 3 for ceegar an pipe and one for cigarette. The cigarette tobacco is the common Virginia. For whatever reason the leaves on my V plants turned golden early so I picked them.... A couple of plant's worth. Not a whole lot...but enough for a start. First thing I did was to dry them by hanging in a mostly shady spot with some morning sun. Next, I sprayed with water bekez they had become quite crunchy. (A couple of weeks drying.). Then I removed the center stem this afternoon. Well, from early afternoon to evening the drat things dried out AGAIN and became very crunchy. So... I spritzed them down again with water. After supper I plan to run them through my spaghetti mill to see what happens. This is our second mill thingy bekez we misplaced the first and our house is NOT that big! amzn.to/44jFHSG. Could not find it anywhere! Thing is muh friends, if I may refer to yuzzes as that, tobaccer growing and processing is NO cut and dried...as in easy. I planted my seed in February, you see...and everything that eats a garden seems to LOVE my plants. Also, they don't stand up on their own in a moderate wind. Let's see what happens after supper. Will I get cig tobacco or did I just waste months? (The plan is to put them into bags and sun treat them for a few days which is supposed to remove the ammonia... We shall see. The bags are thus: amzn.to/3XAsUcn .... The first use as to bag the seed head of one of each of my varieties....to keep them from cross pollinating so I can harvest the seed. (So they say. We shall see!)
You’ve been the most helpful of all the people I’ve watched to learn the baccy growing. Cheers

Great job!
If you lived in the UK you'd be rich because the tobacco here for
30 grams is $35 DOLLARS
50 gram is $50 DOLLARS

After curing and fermenting the tabacco leaves. Would you still age it for cigarettes smoking with a filter?

I'll grow my own tobacco leaves when I retire
How many plants did you grow?
Wow, huge stash! Let us know how it all smokes. I got some seeds last year but I lost them, maybe next year I guess. Cheers.

What are the cultivar names for the most common oriental varieties and burly varieties? I cant seem to find seeds for these can only find Virginia
Technically you could turn those into plugs for them to ferment and drive the ammonia out, right?
Oven roasting bags. They don't allow oxygen or moisture ingress.
Why is it important to put it in bag or jar? They wont lose the amonia if You leave them hanged? Thanks
Wow! How many plants worth is that harvested from? Great channel!!
About two dozen 🔥🔥🔥
