    I love your channel. I drove new 362’s from 1986 up until 1998. We had the double bunks with 425 HP E model Cats and 13 speeds. I guess I am spoiled because I always seen them in there new glory. At 300,000 to 350,000 they were traded off for new ones. We ran dual exhaust and polished tanks with aluminum wheels with air ride on them as well as our 48’ Dorsey refers we pulled with them. When the company owner retired he offered us the trucks but almost all of us passed on owning one. That was a sad day we had 39 of the 362’s when we shut down and my oldest son was a senior in high school getting ready for collage. I would love to see one of our old 362’s today hooked to a grain trailer somewhere…

    I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. MIKE, you need a truck shed for Kenny, K2, Low and Slow plus LSM. Nice collection of trucks. If you dont like the wood store maybe rip it down and build the new truck shed there?

    Mike I think the name "Stumpy" fits perfectly just like the Walter Brennen character from the old John Wayne movies, He was old and mean and would give you both barrels of his 12Ga. but he was a loyal friend that could always be relied one. Good Old "Stumpy"! a friend worth having.

    TIP for your truck glass. To remove years of grime/grease/sap/calcium buildup. Take waterless mechanics non grit hand cleaner (pink or white) with a rag, and wipe and rub in. Will remove and polish glass. Does wonders for glass weatherstrip rubber too!

    I like Stubby, he's cool. Glad to hear he has an engine. Can't wait to see him cleaned up and if his engine starts. Fingers crossed the transmission can be fixed without too much expense and hard work.
    Your list of parts is ever growing. Make a huge list for each of your cabovers and go hunting for what you need. Perhaps start with what you need to get each one running, driving and road legal, then hunt down the missing detailing parts.
    5 windscreens, well you need 1 for Low n Slow and we don't yet know if Stubby may need 1. So that's maybe 2 you need plus a spare each.
    Great plan for Kenny to tow a low bed trailer, that would be awesome. Maybe try to get him running soon.

    Damn Mike, grab a cup of coffee or eat a candy bar.... your as hyper as a two year old. Nice going so far.. I like the new truck and far as square versus round lights, fix it on the bumper parts to square down there too. Horns shouldn't matter but snap the covers off and put the square tips on it .... the horn tips, change them to square. But thinking every one of the new rigs are round aren't they???
    Horse round things on the lawn, I was mean and its cause I am having a round things in my yard day... your excited and happy and then I piss on the steer tires. I am really happy that you saved it and its not a bad looking Pete. I happen to be a conventional guy who is hung out to dry on Kenworths. When I drive a cab over, the front right tire or right front steer tire is in the ditch and I think I am over the yellow line. About one or two signs on the city streets and I get out where I belong with my knee cap feeling like its on the yellow line and its just right. I heard low and slow, its got micro's on the jake brake so how come you haven't learned to jake shift and leave that clutch pedal alone?? Your hang up right like my hang up. Teach momma to drive Stubby and she will be all smiles especially if its got a killer sound system in it and those things that keep us cool or warm depending on the temp outside.

  • @Graveltrucking
    @Graveltrucking 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A 15spd you flip the button from deep reduction to low in 3rd loaded or 4th empty, flip the button let off the throttle if it sticks dip the clutch, the truck I drive the jake on low it burps it enough DR shifts to low then carry on through the gears. I've been driving a 15spd nearly 6 years and I learned the tricks of a 15spd 3 months ago. Damn I wish I knew this years ago I've always driven 13s I learned on them.

    • @richardsantink
      @richardsantink 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      in my area 15spds are common for steel-hauling and at least with the pre-2000 Fuller transmissions, you drive them like a 12-speed if you're using DR: So with DR selected, 1,2,3,4,5, then flip switch back, then 4, 5, Range up, 6,7,8,9,10.

    If those round holes are 7 inches, You can buy Jeep/Miata 7 inch Hella H4 conversion Kit. I have a set of Hellas in my Miata and they are bright without sacrificing glare or blinding others with obnoxious LED/HID.
    You'll have to make a mount and all that but not bad overall.

    Short because it was used to tote mobile homes. That explains the second set of mirrors. They extend out to see past the mobile home. For a truck that has been sitting and it's age on top of that the interior sure is in nice shape. Call it totter.

    Looks like you are making a dent in the truck shortage. I’d let your wife name the truck. You should honor her interest in your endeavors. They sold oodles of these short trucks in the eastern US because of overall length laws. In 1980 a friend bought a new 352 with a 435 Detroit on Air Trac and 13 spd. I passed up the 359 with 3408 sitting next to it because it was 240 inch wb and too long for a good deal of east coast work. Now that’s a short truck. Prices have changed, too. The 352 was about $50 and the 359 was about $55 or $60. I like the Vari-Shield on this new acquisition. Maybe when you get caught up a little, you can try an air ride steer axle upgrade to one of your fleet to see if it improves the cab over experience. Thanks and take care.

  • @bradh7472
    @bradh7472 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mike, you could make it a pusher truck for trucks stuck on hills in the winter time. The LTL companies had a few out in CA where they would push stuck trucks up the hill on Donner Pass. They were the really short Freightliner Cabovers single axle though. Push bar in the front and large counter weight in the back. This truck sort of looks like it other than being dual axle. Still be cool. If you don't know about these trucks look it up, push trucks over Donner Pass.
