To everyone who wants a template or size guide: I can't really help you as I did not use one myself. If you would like the reference picture I used, here it is vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/rainbowsix/images/6/61/Glock_18.png/revision/latest?cb=20160508155822 To scale the picture to actual size, the slide is 7.32 inches long. You can resize the picture on your computer screen to be the correct size and trace it onto a piece of paper for a template. hey man, you were a big inspiration for the 12 yo version of me, and i wanna say thank you. it was so much fun watching your videos and they were a big help at understanding how to make cardboard stuff. i remember how happy i was after making a hk416 with a ton of accessories on my own without any templates and all those fun memories are thanks to you. i dont know if you know how much impact your videos made on people's lives but i really am glad that i saw your videos when i was a kid. wishing you the best of luck for the future
Can you give measurements? Like of the strips and things and the width that the gun is supposed to be? I’ve failed 3 times in a row and I’m still trying. Edit: it looks easy and good when you watch it but when your following the video, I’ve noticed there are a lot of helpful things missing. Great gun tho!
I never really measure anything while I build so I don’t have any measurements unfortunately. I use my best guess for the most part when it comes to widths and on this gun my slide ended up being too fat. I also don’t have access to any of my cardboard guns right now so I can’t really go back to check what it is. If I remember correctly, Glock 17s are about 1.3 inches wide so that’s a start I guess. Sorry I couldn’t be of any more help :(
dude, i Liked so much your tutorial, but i think that you could explain more and show the details, It could help a lot! (sorry for my bad english, its not my first language) :)
@@mc_nourishment I'd say watch the video to the end before you actually start the process. And don't be afraid of the gun looking wacky on your first try 😂. The moment you've made it once, the next one will definitely come out as expected
Clearly you own a glock or have done your research, I stumbled upon this video and watched it for my amusement, however I was disappointed, this is like an EXACT replica, so I didn't get to laugh a poor attention to detail or just being bad at making this in general. If your other videos are similar quality, I will definitely be subscribing! This glock is fantastic! However I think you might have forgot the back plate on the slide, I'll have to go check. For cardboard this is definitely the creme of the crop. Expect a new subscriber soon!
use a craft or utility cutter. first make a small dent in the cardboard, but swipe the cutter very fast to leave a straight line. then, use this new guide to cut deeper into the cardboard
Sharp knife? I just use a box cutter with those replaceable razor blades. One blade both sides usually lasts me a whole gun then I change it. It makes a bigger difference than you might think.
How long does it usually take for you to make something from cardboard? I know this varies depending on the size or complexity of the build, but how long would you need to build: A pistol A rifle Something of a higher magnitude, like the minigun/medigun Not including the time it takes to gather materials or find references, of course.
Even from similar gun to gun there is a MASSIVE time difference. This pistol took around 4 hours, but the M9 took closer to 35. The hecate II took around 15 hours where M249 took more like 30. On the other hand, while the full sized minigun only took 20 ish hours, the longest time by far was the pip boy sitting at around 75 hours. TL;DR, size isn't really important, Its complexity that matters. Plus, experience speeds things up too.
Thanks! Also, how long are the pieces on both the front and back underside of the slide? The parts that rest on the top of the receiver. I dunno what to call them. You can see both of them as you place the barrel inside at 3:49 . I assume the barrel is whatever length fits in between (duh).
I used a cereal box to make mine and I wasn’t being too careful so now I have a Lucky Charms sponsored Glock.
LOL
You be in da hood shootin peeps With your Luck Charms Glock. They all fear you.
Does it shoot lucky charms
Just spray paint it
Congrats, you're a cereal killer now

How do you get clean cuts with your cardboard? I am having trouble with mine and how do you make the cardboard strips?

hi, how did u cut the cardboard so cleanly
use a craft or utility cutter. first make a small dent in the cardboard, but swipe the cutter very fast to leave a straight line. then, use this new guide to cut deeper into the cardboard

Easiest design is just two toilet roll cardboard pieces taped 90 degrees from each other.
And extra roll for a magazine. LOL.

Did you make that pin for the rubber band or buy it? If you bought it.. where at?
Linda Truong I made it. It's just a piece of layered cardboard.
Awesome video! How wide is the gun? Preferably in millimetres please
30mm

Well, you are right about the barrel :). The front piece is about 35mm and the back piece is about 40mm, but use your discretion.
