  • This demo was coded in the 90s. I don't remember exactly when, but probably between 1993 and 1995. I never released it back then because I think I rather quickly switched from the Archie to PC after seeing Fast-Tracker 2 .. That's a really slow release :) Recorded from my A3010 (as if you could not tell)

    A very impressive demo. I really like the colours used in it. As Zarchos says below, it would be good to upload of pouet.net.
    I would zip the app first on the A3010 to ensure it maintains all it's filetype information, then copy the zip file to a dos formatted disc which can be uploaded onto an old pc with a floppy drive. Or perhaps copy the file over serial port (if the A3010 has a serial port - as I can't remember).

      Thanks! Problem with your suggestion is: I don't have an old PC (or similar) with a disk drive, so that's a rather dead end. I might get myself an USB disk drive maybe. But I would very much prefer something network-based. The A3010 does have a serial port, maybe that's the way to go. I am still exploring what add-ons have been created recently(ish)..

      @@fygarOnTheRun Not sure, the helpful people over at www.stardot.org.uk/forums/ in the 32-bit forum might be able to help you find a solution.

      Hey @nytrex2001, I have uploaded the demo to pouet -> www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=97015 and also re-uploaded a recording of it here :)

    Very nice indeed ! Could you please upload it to pouet ?

      Thanks! I need to figure out how to transfer it from disk, before I can upload it. Any hints?

    Is it an amstrad CPC demos ??? 😵

      No, it runs on the Acorn Archimedes, a machine with a 32-bit RISC processor :)

    Was this all written in Assembler?

    • @fygarOnTheRun
      @fygarOnTheRun  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a tiny bit of BBC Basic V involved, to get the code assembled :)

      @dcikaruga 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fygarOnTheRun I had the BBC Basic manual that came with my Acorn, I remember my first issue of BBC Acorn User coming with programs for me to type in, but they quickly focused on comercial stuff afterwards. Those days are long gone now, it's mostly commercial stuff and on-line programming lessons for dummies these days.

      @@dcikaruga Yes, the times of type-ins are more or less over. Have you ever tried assembly on your Acorn?

      @@fygarOnTheRun Never got that far, made some simple games in BASIC, but that's about it. A nice development environment though, esepcially because of all the processing power, a 6502, even the 68000 programmer really had to squeeze what he could of out those machines.

      @@dcikarugaTrue. I did my fair amount of z80 assembly, squeezing the most out of the machine was a source of great fun.
