I love so much about all your podcasts. I’ve only started watching knitting podcasts for a few months so I’m going through some old ones. I really appreciate your education about yarn! I’ve started a notebook so I can keep track with notes!
Well, it took me almost exactly a year, but I watched your entire podcast history from day 1! It has been fun to watch your progression from dabblers to being so involved in the worldwide fiber community--how does that even happen?! Congratulations, and keep going, because now what am I going to watch at night--😋
Just got the part where you say “and I didn’t make any changes to this pattern… except this, this, and this… and this.” Now that should be on a t-shirt for the GGs!
Oh my goodness, I've been behind on the podcast and I finally caught up with this episode last night! Jodi thank you so much for trying to fix my vest!!! I'm so sorry that you had to invest so much time with it. I think a small stripe of the wrong color is a lot better than the whole bottom half of it - and I love earthtones so I the color is great! I knit it in Brooklyn Tweed Peerie 100% Wool (discontinued now) and Concept by Katia Mohair/Nylon/Silk and it is the Friday Slipover. I'll contact you when you get back from your fabulous trip to Ireland! I know you are having a fabulous trip!
Enjoy your travels. The one knitty thing I take with me when I travel is a full set of interchangeable needles. That way if i buy new yarn I can cast on anything straight away !!! 💚💚
Top top tip for long travel - take a saline nasal spray and a cheap facial mist. Stops you feeling dry and mucky (I worked out I’ve done about 30 Australia-UK trips in the past 12 yrs) also lean in to being offline, snooze whenever you feel like it/can - jet lag will be what it will be. Have an awesome time❤
BHRT bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy gave me back my life in 2020!! My family doc (Canada) offered me Estrogen, and my first response was NO!!! Until I started researching youtube videos from GYoB's all over the world and then realized my Canadian doctor was actually on the ball. It only took me about 7 months and now 3 1/2 years in, I'll never be off of it!!!! I was awake every hour on the hour all night long... Now I'm on ES, Prog, Test, and DHEA and I sleep like a baby.
When you go to Murano, make sure to also go to Burano. Burano lace is amazing. It dates back to the 1500s and the tradition is still passed on. Watching them work the lace is amazing.
Costco pesto is the BEST! Worth the membership fee just for that. My favorite quick comfort food using it is cook some of your fav pasta (mine is either angel hair or linguine), drain, toss with a few spoonfuls of pesto and some fresh cherry tomatoes (cut in half). Voila! Simple and delicious.
Hi ladies, living in the west of Ireland my advice on weather apps is; don't even waste your time, just have a cup of tea /wait a few minutes & its sunny again. Generally the dryest time if the day is morning & layer up, you'll need sun glasses too!(no joke). Waterproof shoes, handmade socks & hats (very humid & hard water) .Lahinch golf course in County Clare on the coast, ( a links course ). Follow up to the village of Liscannor (before the cliffs of Mohair) to the Atlantic Way Art Gallery run by Ann Daly. Irish Fibre Crafters is a company who specialise in Irish fibres, you may already be including Kerry & Cushendale Wollen Mills in your tour. Have a fantastic holiday ladies!
Estrogen isn't an option for everyone. I was perimenopousal in my early thirties and have been going through menopause for a few years now, but can't do any hormone therapy. But the blessing is I haven't had a cycle for about ten years. Good luck on this change.
Love the episode. Note about Veronica Lindberg, Kutovakika's, book... she's certainly adding larger sizes to her new patterns. Plus she's selling individual patterns from her book now. I believe the book came out over a year ago
A fan to help dry blocked knitting is my go to. I have a friend who blocks socks by hanging the sock blockers on her ceiling fan. They are dry by morning.
Have a wonderful time!!!! You both look radiant!!! Tracie, I can see you taking photos of your green turtledove cardi in Ireland!!!! Jodi you are so beautiful and love that you will have that gorgeous sweater to keep you cozy!!! beannachtaí!!! 🧶🦄💖❇✨
Please i can not find the Cute Cube Bag!!!! I live in LaSalle On I would love 💕 this bag. I just found you girls. My Husband says when he walks in Really Honey your Watching these Girls Again He walk out lolol. So Funny. Love 💕 you Both spoooooo much.
Love your episodes, sisters! Ready to knit Ranunculus. Love how you substituted bobbles for the eyelets. Can you tell us how more about you did it? Thanks!
I hope you see this before you go, Carol Feller has a yarn shop Stollen Stitches in Cork, Ireland close to Hedgehog Fibres. You will love Carol and you should check out her shop.
During my menopause, I went to an Integrative medicine GYN, who expands out of traditional medicine. She did compounded doses of estrogen - so less than a standard dose, hopefully decreasing the risk of breast cancer. 🤷♀️ Had to pay out of pocket, but Made me feel so much better re: hot flashes, headaches, poor sleep.
Pack enough for a week and do laundry along the way. Many places have a drop off/pick up service. Reasonable price and saves having to drag multiple heavy bags about.
Awww, missed your live, had to make an unexpected trip to the doctor 😞 but all will be well and settling in on the couch to watch you two will make me feel TONS better. Glad you're better Tracie. I know y'all will have a fantastic trip to Ireland and I know your listeners will look forward to hearing about it. I know I sure will!!! Safe travels 😊
I just started listening and want to say I have the at-home laser hair remover from Costco, and it works better than the doctor's office laser, which hurt so badly and did nothing. I highly recommend it.
I travelled overseas with students many, many times and I always recommended having a water bottle. You never know where you'll find a bubbler (water fountain/ drinking fountain) for the rest of the English world and buying bottled water gets so expensive and is so wasteful! Personally, I made sure it fit in my daypack/saddle bag as well because I didn't want to carry it.
I started menopause at 45 and still get hot flashes. And turn very red. Such a pain. But some people get heart palpitations and think they having a heart attack. So I’m ok with heart flashes. I’ve always been scared of taking hormones as afraid of breast cancer. Maybe I should listen to the dr.
BOOKS: The Menopause Brain - Lisa Mosconi; The New Menopause - Mary Claire Haver; The Menopause Manifesto - Jen Gunter; and for food Good Food, Good Mood by Tamara Green and Sarah Grossman. In case you are interested in any reading material.
Jodi, your description of rage before your cycle is PMDD, its a condition more serious than PMS, i was diagnosed with this 15 years ago, and treated with antidepressants and therapy. I am off the meds as time has passed, but still have some slight irritation.
Hi, great video, very funny always, and entertaining, you definitely need a comfortable pair of boots, for walking in the rain, and don’t take your shoes off on the plane, like I did once and they swelled up so bad,I couldn’t wear any shoes for the whole trip away.have a great holiday, loved listening to your plans and packing, so funny about the disposable underwear, kind regards pamela hall
Guys take a trip to Stolen Stitches in Cork you will love it. Owned by designer Carol Feller and she has her own brand of yarn. Enjoy your trip. I live in the middle of Ireland
My biggest long haul travel tips (were former military and like to travel so have been on a lot of looooonnnng flights) take LOTS of distractions for the plane. I had a few books on my kindle in case I got bored with one or two down load a few movies on your iPad I had one flight where the inflight WiFi entertainment wasn’t working obviously portable power banks in case you use your iPad or phones for stuff on the plane again in case the plugs aren’t there or working and of course your knitting. 😁
Funny that you see Veronika Lindberg's patterns as not being size inclusive. Most have 8 - 10 inches of positive ease, which is not size inclusive for small women (unless you want it to look like you're wearing your big brother's sweater).
LOL, in regards to drying your beautiful sweater overnight with the fan…are you like me and get up every hour or so (coordinating with my hot flashes) to check on it? 😂 #impatience
My daughters tour group told them to bring the old undies and throw away. Not everywhere in Europe has laundry facilities. Easiest to throw away. Your lucky you don’t have bunch teen girls that wind up getting their period on trip. Lol 😂
I am perimenopausal and I am shocked at how little doctors know. I had one tell me I was too young at 47. It sucks. I love listening to you and a funny spin to it and thank you for the podcast suggestion I am going to listen. Truth be told I am convinced that all “Karen’s” are women who just give in to some of the crazy emotions we get that are irrational 😂 there is a tiktoker named Julie Osborne who is hilarious when she is talking about her symptoms.
OK , travel underwear with panty liners. The travel underwear by Duluth is wonderful, wash in the hotel sink, will dry over night. The pant Ey liners will let you go more than few days without having to wash. When I travel or go camping for a two weeks, I pack 5 pairs of underwear (more than enough!). Travel shirts are also great. Light weight, easy to hand wash, dry overnight. I love the Tech shirts by Orvis ..When traveling in Ireland and the UK most hotel bathrooms have towel warmers which are great for drying your shirts and Undies.
Absolutely I toss my underwear!! And old socks, and I leave a lot of my hair care etc in the last hotel. It was the only way to get all the yarn home. I had to put some yarn in my carry on tote and it smelled sheepy and I was worried people would think I smelled funny😅😅😂

Wow, what a great pink scarf! I love all the knitted things ❤ I'm so excited for your trip to Ireland, yay! What beautiful project bags.
My family is from County Cork, I will live through your travels of the country. Have a wonderful time and have a Guiness for me.
Enjoy your travels. The one knitty thing I take with me when I travel is a full set of interchangeable needles. That way if i buy new yarn I can cast on anything straight away !!! 💚💚
Same❤
Safe travels to you ladies! It’s so much fun to spend time with you. Hugs, Viv!
I love watching you guys, I hope you're having a great time!
Thank you for the shout out 🥰 i promis the Perikon is very size inclusive 🤍
Have a wonderful trip!

Ireland trip tip: a full day at Cliffs of Moher, so worth it! I've been twice.
I’m home sick today too and ALSO feel too sick to knit so this was a welcome surprise to keep me company today ❤
Right there with ya!
During lockdown I designated Sewing Sunday. I had some EPP hand sewing to do - in fact I still have that project to finish!
So happy to see you and glad you found time in your busy schedule to pop in and see us all. Have a lovely trip away.
When you go to Murano, make sure to also go to Burano. Burano lace is amazing. It dates back to the 1500s and the tradition is still passed on. Watching them work the lace is amazing.
Agree 100%! You shouldn’t miss it guys!
have fun on your trip. Can’t wait to hear about all your adventures.
Man I love your chats, you tick my funny bone 😅
Have a wonderful trip, it will be amazing! I cannot wait to see what wooliness you come back with! ♥
Love your humor, Jodie. "I love to come back and not know where I left off"😂
Love luv luv you both ! Always look forward to my grocery girls fix! I think you need a sweater that says Georgia I’m podcasting! 🤣😂😆😆😆😆😆🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
You both make me smile. I do not have a sister but if I did I hope we would be like you.
Julie Ann is from Moncton NB . We're very proud of her 😊
I love the black pop on Jodi’s sweater. I thought she was wearing a black shirt under the sweater. Well done! Tracie, your sweater is gorgeous!

You guys crack me up! I knew someone who travels with all old clothes and she leaves them behind all thru the trip and makes room for purchases!

I've knitted several of her patterns and they're the best.
@@lupepedraza8497 I agree and she knits & creates patterns so quickly!
Her book came out 2-3 years ago. She is a lovely human. She just had a baby.
I love her!
I’m from California and happily surprised to see you today❤
Good morning from Delaware!! Hummingbirds are here.

Another fun episode! I have a Jean brand recommendation KUT from the Kloth. They fit so well and they have such great sales. Have a great trip!
Highly recommend reading or listening to Estrogen Matters. Wish I had these resources 10 years ago!
Great podcast! Love all your pattern choices! Working on a Melt shawl from Andrea Mowry❤😊

When you go to Ireland have for breakfast an Ulster fry, so loose jeans will be the order of the day.❤
Love your episodes, sisters! Ready to knit Ranunculus. Love how you substituted bobbles for the eyelets. Can you tell us how more about you did it? Thanks!
I went to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket in the summer of 1991. MV was my favorite. I could spend a whole summer on that island.
Definitely take hats! It’s a cold wet wind! And good waterproof boots 😂
I wore sweaters and rain jacket in Ireland in August. Lots of rain and very cool even in summer!
I hope you see this before you go, Carol Feller has a yarn shop Stollen Stitches in Cork, Ireland close to Hedgehog Fibres. You will love Carol and you should check out her shop.

Great show❤️
The small fry scarf texture reminds me of The No Purl scarf only in a triangle with icord. I wonder if it’s the same stitch pattern
Pack enough for a week and do laundry along the way. Many places have a drop off/pick up service. Reasonable price and saves having to drag multiple heavy bags about.
You two are hysterical!!
So many relatable things here!
Water bottle is essential. Ask at the bar or restaurant to add ice and refill each morning.
since you are off to Ireland......you must watch PS I LOVE YOU on the plane if you haven't seen it yet. Or rewatch it!
Awww, missed your live, had to make an unexpected trip to the doctor 😞 but all will be well and settling in on the couch to watch you two will make me feel TONS better. Glad you're better Tracie. Ireland is very very casual. Just take what you have, be comfortable.
I just started listening and want to say I have the at-home laser hair remover from Costco, and it works better than the doctor's office laser, which hurt so badly and did nothing. I highly recommend it.
Have a good trip !!!
I live close to Boston! So exciting!

A great small around the neck pattern is the Quintet Shawlette by Ambah O'Brien. Great for mini skeins

What is the name of Tracie’s gray shawl pattern knit in the Sunday morning Lux?
Guys take a trip to Stolen Stitches in Cork you will love it. Owned by designer Carol Feller and she has her own brand of yarn. Enjoy your trip. I live in the middle of Ireland
Maybe embroidery on the vest will be the solution to hide the band

Please, please, please make a project page for your Ranunculus. I've made it twice but really want to try it "Tracie's Way".
Be sure to have a Guinness - they taste different than the American Guinness! Have a wonderful time!
Throwing away the underwear is what I do too!!!!
Have you ever tried sandnes yarn wool? Petite knits uses it so was wondering if you have tried it.

I think only 8 of Veronika Linbergs patterns from the Knit This book are on ravelry
Good evening from South Africa!
Is that neck warmer you made by Sam is it bigger than petites knits little neck warmer.
I did that last summer! Threw away old underwear, socks, and an old beat up pair of shoes! They were all old items I would NOT donate. Ha!
Have a wonderful time !

Hi from Mary in South Carolina!!
Hello from New Zealand.
Me too
I always do that. My business travel I would buy new underwear and put it in my drawer and all my old stuff got thrown away along the way
Fiber Tales new pattern goes up to 6XL
